Good quality, but weird sizing

The quality, warmth, features of these mitts are great and I want to love them, but the sizing is so strange. The thumbs feel 1-2 sizes too small while the rest of the mitt feels huge. I'm on the upper end of a Large size, but was told to size up to an XL because I would be wearing their Storm liner gloves with these. What I've found is that I have enough room to fit my entire fist into the mitt, but the thumb is way too tight. I can even put on my smaller winter gloves and still fit my entire fist into the mitt! For reference, my thumbs are proportional to my hand, are not large, and I've never had this issue with any other gloves besides Dakine brand. I want to use them because they're nice quality, but the sizing makes them unusable. It's bizarre. I'll be returning them.

Worth every penny

These mitts are excellent -- very warm for the coldest days and extremely waterproof for rainy days too. There probably are warmer mitts out there but when layered with the Dakine Wool Liners, my hands and fingers have never been too cold for comfort. The only negative I will say is that they are starting to show some wear in the palm after a few season of riding (roughly 20ish days a year) but that seems pretty normal. I highly recommend these mitts.

Warm and comfortable

I own a pair of Titans and I find that they are a great all-around mitt but they don't cut it on the coldest days. I've field tested the Expeditions on a few sub -20C days and I'm impressed by how they're holding up. The wool-blended lining feels really nice on the skin and it definitely keeps the hands warmer than the Titans.

My new mittens

Are awesome. I live in the Colorado mountains and use a tractor (unheated) to plow. My fingers in gloves always got cold. No more with my Dakine mittens! Thank you!

Heaters

My first new pair of mittens in a decade. My pair always had a liner glove and I was nervous if switching to a non liner glove. These worked great for a recent trip to the Adirondacks. We did t get bone chilling temperatures but my hands were super warm, I even took the kittens off to cool my hands at times.

These came in handy at -20. If you're sensitive to the feel of wool on bare skin you might want to try a non-wool lined option.

Solid Mitts

You can spend a lot of money on gloves/mittens. These hit the sweet spot of a quality mitt that doesn't break the bank. They are really warm but not overly bulky like a lot of burlier mittens. Wrist strap is a game changer too.

Mitt was great and kept my hands warm during recent very cold days (0F, with 40-60 mph winds). Best with silk glove liners. I have an average men's large hand, and I found the thumb small and the mitt area a bit large. Just fine tuning...

Care
All Dakine non-leather gloves can be machine washed
Gently press out excess water before hanging to dry
Dakine does not recommend turning the gloves inside out for cleaning
When possible, allow gloves to dry at room temperature, rather than placing them near a heater or in a dryer as this may damage the materials
