Questions & Answers

Shopper : Hello Are the Atlas Snowshoe Totes 25" in stock?Sunny S : The item has been discontinued from the manufacturer.
Shopper : We have two pairs of Atlas snowshoes, one is labeled 27 and the other 30. Will they fit in the Atlas bag labeled as 27-30?GARY L : Only 1(one) pair per tote.PHILIP K : The bag is roomy but two pairs of snowshoes might be a tight fit. Length wise should be no problem, it's the depth where you'd have problems. I can't be more definitive because I have only one pair of snowshoes. What you could do is purchase one and try it out, as they are a decent storage bag and should last for a long while. If both don't fit purchase another. And remember, it's designed as a storage pack not a trekking pack. I keep my snowshoes in them at the house but lash them to my pack when going out for to the back country.
SHARON T : How does this bag compare to the MSR Snowshoe bag?CHRISTINA B : Not sure what the MSR snowshoe bag is like, but this one is pretty good. It has an inside zip pocket, inside storage pocket, it's very lightly padded, made of solid fabric, has two exterior velcro straps to latch poles, and compresses nicely so you can easily strap it your pack when snowshoes are in use. Not so compressible that you can fold/roll and stuff it without using up bit of your pack space. I find this also works wonders as seat pad for lunch breaks on long treks, so I don't need to carry an extra pad for sitting on the snow or on cold rocks. I've used it in various conditions, hardly any sign of wear or damage, including being regularly tossed in among skis and other gear in the gear compartment of a transport bus. it also has two straps you can use for over the shoulder carrying, or a padded handle for carrying by hand. I just bought some additional velcro strapping and lash it to the outside of my pack. This is an easy way to pack my snowshoes until I get to where I want to use them. Good internal storage space, probably fit most adult shoes. I use BC24s which are wider and shorter than most snowshoes and they fit perfectly fine. Oh, and good internal water resistance, so when you pack your shoes in after a day on the trail but don't get all the snow off, the melting snow won't see through the pack onto the rest of your gear or backpack or car interior.TIM F : Virtually no difference, as what you want is a 'ventilated' bag so your snowshoes can dry out. Both bags are ventilated and Atlas is a quality product that existed long before MSR made snowshoes, so you can't go wrong either way.JOHN L : I can't really say since I haven't compared it to any other. However, I am completely satisfied with the ATLAS bag. It is perfect for my snowshoes, roomy and I versatile. I don't think you can beat it for the price. Good-luck in your selection...this one works for me!SHARON T : Thank you Carol.CAROL B : I don't have the MSR, cause I bought the Atlas bag. I think the atlas is okay for storing and travel, but to big and loose to actually want to walk around with it on your back. It only has one small compartment, and not much support. Hope this helps.SAMANTHA P : I don't know how it compares, but I really like this bag.TODD K : I am not familiar with the MSR Snowshoe bag but love the Atlas bags we have. They are large enough to pack with not only your showshoes but also other gear. The backpack straps come in handy for long hikes and the side pole attachment is key.BRENDAN L : Great bag, well ventilated has carry handle or wear as backpack while snowshoeing great to hold lunch or extra jacket My series 7 shoes are 30" long and 9.5" wide and easily fit in the bag and is a built in gaiter pocket inside the bag poles strap on the outside of the bag with built in Velcro fasteners MSR and Atlas are equal in quality and usefulnessAMANDA M : My husband has the Atlas bag for his snowshoes, and I have the MSR for mine. In terms of quality and usability, they're pretty much the same. We both like them very much and so far both bags have held up extremely well. Both are good purchases.

Good basic snowshoe bag

Good basic backpack style bag for hauling snowshoes. Snowshoes fit well in bag, and snowshoe length descriptor was correct for fitment to my shoes. Adjustable shoulder straps are not padded, but are ok for short distance use. Pack might be nicer with sternum or lumbar strap (I sewed one on).

Organize Your Snow Day

Three of us, piled into a Jeep, going snowshoeing with all our poles and gear. Mine was in the Atlas deluxe tote bag so I only had one thing to grab to get at my gear. Inside there's a zippered pouch and a mesh pouch. Both are handy for extra gloves, hats or a snack. There's some nice handles and even straps if you want to wear it on your shoulders. You can put your wet shoes in the bag and there's a small drain rivet at the bottom. The velcro to hold your poles is nice but I'd like to have the straps a little longer--other than that, it's great if you like to be organized. It's great for storing at home off season if you don't have a gear cave.

This bag is exactly what I was hoping fo

I had trouble with ordering and using the free shipping because I used my PO Box number on the order form. All you guys had to do was say on the website: "If you use a PO Box, no free shipping." When I called customer service, though, they were pretty helpful, except it took a long time. Delivery took about 10 days, but arrived in good shape.

Atlas snowshoe bag.

I received a pair of Atlas snowshoes as a gift. I wanted to be able to carry them on hikes and also to store them safely when not in use. The Atlas snowshoe bag is excellent. The shoulder straps allow me to carry them easily and also hang them up in storage for easy access. I have used both the bag and the snowshoes frequently this winter and I have been extremely pleased with the quality of both items.
