These are the best poles ever. They are light. Collapse to fit in a suitcase even. Great fit to your hands. Just all around super poles, especially for the price.

They don't collapse down enough to fit into my pack. They seem clunky compared to my last pair of black diamond poles.

When needing new poles (I wore the others out) Black Diamond is my only source. The shock absorbers help protect my knees, the length adjustment is easy to change on the fly, and the ergonomic grip makes for comfortable day-long hikes.

These poles are very versatile for all seasons and offer the added stability when hiking difficult terrain. They are easy to fold up and can be stowed in a simple day pack. I would recommended these for added stability on hiking trips.

My first pair of poles were BD, and 2 other sets since then. The only reason for new poles has been because of loss/theft. Never had a pole break or have other issues. I prefer the flicklock over other length adjustment systems. Don't buy cheap poles, you get what you pay for, but these BD poles are affordable and quality. If I don't lose one, they'll last for many years.

Upgraded to Black Diamond Women's Trekking Poles and am SO glad I did. I used them for first time on a 6 mile hike in Northern Virginia with elevation and they exceeded my expectations. They are lightweight, yet sturdy. My previous poles had cork grips so I was a little concerned about switching the EVA grips. The EVA grips proved to be amazingly comfortable with no issues. I appreciated the easy of use with these trekking poles and highly recommend them. For reference, I'm a casual day hiker, 5'6, 115 lbs and 54 years old. Hope this helps.

Black Diamond Trail Trekking Poles are absolutely the best. Very light weight. Easy to use. Black Diamond appears to have an outstanding group of researchers. They seem to meet the needs for all of us. They know what we want. They know what we need. I had a lot of discomfort after my hikes, as I am older. As a result, I was reluctant to hike until it was recommended that I use trekking poles. After much research, I decided on Black Diamond. I am back to hiking on a regular basis, and couldn't be happier. And, of course, I look really cool on the trails, because you can't help but notice how beautiful they are. We shine on the trails!!

I got these for my wife to use on our most recent backpacking trip through Yosemite. We did 22 miles overall and these seemed to work perfect for her. They are light weight, strong, and easy to pack/unpack when needed. We trekked across dirt, gravel, various rock terrain (mostly granite), snow and water. I checked the tips after the trip expecting them to look well used and there was hardly a scratch on the tip itself. the plastic pieces took more abuse but nothing compromising to the functionality. Overall, awesome poles for the Mrs.

I borrowed these hiking poles from my sister and loved them so much I asked for them as a birthday gift. They offer great support while hiking up and down hills and on slippery terrain. They are light weight and collapsible making them great for travel . Now I need to buy my husband a set so we can hike together .

I bought these piles under advisement from a friend to use snowshoeing with my dog. The best feature for me is that the pole grips do not freeze my hands! I also was able to set the height and use the clips myself - I have arthritis in my hands which makes dexterity limited. I would buy these again. Great quality gear is a must.

I was happy to find these poles again!! My young lab chewed the tops of both my original poles that I have had for many years. I love the wrist straps, soft and cushioned. They are very comfortable and give extra support when using poles up and down steep hills. They are light, easy to adjust and pack reasonably small.

Picked these up for a five-day backpacking trip at Mt. Rainier NP. They are lightweight but very sturdy and durable. The easy adjustment with flicklock allowed us to shorten them to strap to a pack, or deploy them easily. Also, no problem to add a few inches when moving downhill over steeper sections. The grip is comfortable and extends for lots of options. Comfy padded wrist straps too. Switching out the baskets, these piles would work great for a backcountry ski tour or snowshoeing.

Sturdy, strong, easy to adjust and doesn't slip (adjustment) unexpectedly. I'm 5'8" and bought the women's version because I never needed the extra length of the men's. I've used them for 6+ years before they were stolen :'( for ski touring, hiking, and even resort skiing on occassion. The 3 segment design collapses down to a manageable size BUT this is the one area for improvement I want in my replacement poles - collapsed length. These travel nice but they are still a little long when I strap them to my pack and want to scramble I find they get in the way. I'll probably go with a Z-series pole next time for that reason. Otherwise, awesome pole!

I presume the cam lock is just out of spec. I've had other BD external locking poles and no issues. I've had LEKIs with internal locks for decades and they can be finicky. I haven't called BD for a warranty but it's heading that way. These are fairly small diameter poles and they do flex under load. Not in a disconcerting manner but with a heavy pack just be warned they will flex to some amount.

I use the Trail Trekking Poles for day hikes in moderately mountainous terrain. They are sturdy and the fliplock system holds up really well. The handle is comfortable and strap feels natural to wear over the wrist. I do not find the weight or collapsed size to be an issue for my use.
