google trekker cameraThere is nary a place in the wide blue planet upon which we live that isn’t available to view from the comfort of your home computer, thanks to the tireless efforts of Google and their Street View project. While some may see this as the ultimate invasion of global privacy, it is actually a very exciting prospect for people that just don’t have the opportunity to see all the world’s magnificent natural places, as well as providing inspiration for those who really want to. And now, you have the chance to be a part of the project with the Google Street View Trekker system!

Google is looking for enthusiastic, able-bodied individuals to take their Trekker backpack camera into various places in nature to record the landscape for Street View. You must be prepared to pack a lot of weight, as the camera alone weighs 42 lbs, and you’ll need to bring normal supplies like water, food, and an emergency kit that you would take on any other outdoor adventure. If this sounds like the opportunity you’ve been waiting for, click here to apply and for more details.
