This pad is fantastic. It's on the heavy side for a backpacking pad but the comfort and warmth more than make up for the extra weight. It seems kinda noisy at home but I never noticed the noise in camp. Used it through several backpack hunts and slept comfortably every night. It's an amazing upgrade to my old thermarest.

Great pad but the pump sack is kinda small for large size.

I really like the pad and my only complaint is that it is loud. Other than that, its clearly the best cold weather pad I have ever used.

I got a new xtherm to replace an old one that leaked. The pad is excellent but the pump sack is all but useless. I almost failed to connect it to the pad in the warmth of my home. I can't see how it would be possible to do it in cold temperature with gloves or mittens on. Thermarest needs to get back to the drawing board on this one. Five stars for the pad, zero for the pump sack.

Warmest sleep I?ve had in the backcountry. This sleeping pad was a weight & warmth upgrade for me, best night in the backcountry yet.

No better pad for a cold sleeper or cold nights outside or in a tent. Within a minute of laying on it I can feel the warmth radiating up. Super comfortable, light and compact. I?ve even dropped my pack weight carrying a lighter sleeping bag knowing the pad provides enhanced ground insulation making my overall sleep system warmer and lighter.

Love the product it terms of comfort and compactibility. I just wonder if its normal for it to lose some air overnight? I don't recall needing to add air to my old sleeping mat when it was new (in between nights), but with this one I feel the need (only reason for 4*)

Besides the expected krinkle chip bag sounds these make, they are very warm and comfy and light.

It's very good and comfortable. There is some air loss each night...normal?

I have had the NeoAir Xtherm out on multiple hikes now in temps down into the teens and I can unequivocally say it was worth every penny. I am a very cold sleeper and despite all my efforts (0 degree bag, sleeping pad plus fold out foam pad, sleeping in all my clothes, etc.) I was never comfortable. Until doing research for an upcoming extended backpacking trip, I never realized that all sleeping bag temp ratings are based on a standard sleeping pad r value of 4. My pads r value was 2. Doesn?t matter how puffy or expensive your bag is, when your laying on top of it, there is no loft and therefore no warmth. The XTherm is tremendous at reflecting back heat and now my 20degree bag keeps me far warmer then my zero degree used to, without the liner, without all the clothes. It is super expensive, and super loud the first time you use it. But after the very first night you will be glad you pulled the trigger. And your tent mates can get over the crinkling. If you doing it right, you?re too tired to care.

Very pleased! Glad I waited months for the size large to be back in stock.(never skimp on sleeping pad size). First trip I used it was only 26 degrees, but nothing happened all night to remind me I was sleeping only 2.5" off the snow. Super comfy, Not silent, but definitely not what I'd call crinkly either. Packs small enough. Will be my year round "go-to" pad.

Ordered direct from Therm a Rest because no one else had stock. Delivery was better than promised ~ a week. Tried it out on a three night snow camp with temps around freezing. Used a Z Pad underneath the TR as I usually do. Pad performed well without any cold spots. Could not distinguish any difference in performance between my new TR and my older (heavier/ bulkier) Exped Down mat. The TR has an exceptional R factor/packability for its low weight which was why I chose to shell out the $250+ for the TR. Winter camping always strains my weight carrying capability and challenges the volume of my backpack with puffy down coats, sleeping bag, and extra bottles of wine so it was worth it (to me at least) to spend the money. We have gotten into winter camping more frequently in the last three years so are ramping up the equipment to facilitate this extension of our normal backpacking seasons. To the ?occasional? camper this outlay may be a bit much but everyone is different. I use the TR X lite during the other seasons. The XTherm is heavier so though I would like it to be my all season pad its extra weight precludes its (for me). People have commented on the noise factor for various TR inflatable pads. I have never been bothered by any noises but after a long day I sleep very soundly. The wing valve is new to me (thanks TR for inventing after I bought my summer pad). Its one way valve is very handy to keep air from escaping while inflating. The inflate bag is handy and snaps into place securely so it won?t fly off during inflating. Material seems sturdier than what is used on my summer pad (but then summer pad is also lighter) and it packs up quite nicely. I always buy the wider / longer versions so you end up folding (summer and winter) the pads into thirds to roll up. The XTherm seems to fold easier than the summer pad. But then I have the older (pre wing lock? did I remember to thank TR for that yet???) summer pad so that might have changed. As a past product manager I am always considering improvements. One simple one would be to note which side of the mat goes down. Something really crazy like printing ?This Side Down? on the mat would be awesome. I had to look online to find the answer and in the end I located a product walk through that had the mat inflated and laid on a bench. The side pointing up had the TR name printed on it so I assumed this was the correct positioning. I know ?assume?? So I?m satisfied with the pad after my first use. Since I?ve used TR pads quite a will let history be my guide and expect that this new pad will hold up just as well as my other TR equipment has. If not then my experience with Cascade Designs is their warranty process is quite good and they have always stood behind their products so kudos to them. If you are a serious winter camper than I would def shell out the bucks for this item. You won?t regret.

Not only is this pad super warm and comfy (don't inflate it quite all the way) but it's made of some seriously tough materials. Weighs in at about 1.7lb for the long rectangle version and 1.5lb for the long mummy version. Super light and, for the weight, the best buy out there for a cold weather pad.

Weight is EXACTLY as advertised for regular. I used to struggle with staying warm blaming sleeping bag and the manufacturer. When it comes to sleeping in snow and in then cold Xtherm is worth its weight in gold. If you sleep cold your pad is probably the issue, along with some other possible reasons, but start here and buy this pad from SunnySports.
