Awesome pad. Can literally feel the body heat reflecting off of it.

Finally a sleeping pad that keeps me warm. I've tried a bunch of pads, and this is the first one that actually performs. I'm a very cold sleeper, and couldn't ask for more. Used on many trails, down to 15F, still warm and cozy, unlike other pads where I can feel the cold ground through the pad. I use it with my 0F Enlightened Equipment quilt.

Its got all the bells-and-whistles, it packs small and neat. Can't wait to try it on snow.

Used this recently with a 15F degree bag and OR Helium Bivy. It was wet and temperatures at 18 during the night. The pad was easy to blow up, comfortable to lay on, and kept the ground from taking all the warmth. On top it packed small. Look forward to the next outing at lower temperatures.

I took this on a 5 day backcountry trip into the Chilcotin mountains. This pad exceeded my expectations in every way. Easy to inflate, simple adjustment for the air pressure to tweak the comfort, and rolls up easily and magically fits back into its own stuff sack. Not all camping gear achieves this last point. . . I regret slightly not getting the rectangular version - the very slight increase in weight would likely be offset by my sliding off the mat less as I am a restless sleeper.

Comfy, not too noisy, light!

It's super warm, and thus it does its job. It is super loud, and genuinely sounds like a bag of chips. My big issue with it however is that I simply don't find it comfortable, I haven't been able to get a good nights sleep on it.

First of all, very comfortable and much improved over my old Prolite Plus. Will say that inflating it with the included bag takes quite a while. Wish the inflater bag thingy was much bigger to cut down on time spent inflating it.

Really comfortable! Could be more durable and feel less delicate, as well as not a crinkly. It's very loud to move on.

The most important thing is comfort! This thing is comfortable and compact! The extra features, ( bag, repair kit, pump bag) all make this pad a must have for anyone who enjoys the outdoors on any serious level! I like the valve system, I use a flex tail pump and the easy to use wing valve on this pad makes it a breeze to inflate and adjust for comfort. I highly recommend this sleeping pad.

Love my new pad! Makes less noise than my older version and is just about perfect!

Bought this pad for guiding a Denali expedition. It held air just fine and offered enough warmth that I didn't need the Ridgerest I normally put underneath it. It's compact and comfortable to sleep on. It held air all night, every night.

Works pretty damn good and sleeps well no matter where you land

Comfortable enough, and definitely keeps warm. It is crinkly when moving around, at least while new. Maybe it will break in a little and that crinkly noise will go away with some use. It's pretty durable and lightweight. I love how small it packs down! I think with the proper bag and "sleep system" it would be great, however I found it was difficult to stay centered on it as a side sleeper, and my pillow would not stay put. Again, probably more to do with the entire set up rather than the pad itself, but still worth mentioning.

this pad is all round just great super light, warm, durable and comfy. can't ask for more than that from a sleeping pad. was on the fence on buying it because of the price but it is well worth it if you want a pad to do it all.

I bought XTherm NXT because my current mat had a low R-value and was not warm enough on cold nights. The new Thermarest XTherm NXT performed well on a recent 3 day hike into the Kosciuszko National Park in Australia. All three nights were below zero temps, the coldest being around -7C. Combined with a good sleeping bag, I was warm and comfortable. The NXT packs down to a reasonable size and the stuff sack is big enough that you don't need to be overly careful how you roll the mat to get it back into the bag, including the pump sack. The pump sack was a great addition and, while it take longer to inflate, it's far more relaxing than blowing a mat up. I'd advise keeping the mat slightly under inflated when you go to bed because your body temp will raise the pressure in the night and the mat pressure will increase. It's not hard to release a bit of air if you need to but better to avoid the problem in the first place. The XTherm NXT is a good thickness and keeps you off the ground even if you like a slightly softer inflation like I do. the mat is a bit noisy when you roll over but it is not noisy for small movements. I am 183cm tall and bought the large version. Combined with the extra width of the large, I did not have to worry about rolling around in the night and staying on the mat. The extra room was worth extra weight in my opinion. If you're less than 183cm, consider the regular or regular wide version.

I've had the Neoair x-lite w's, and the uberlite. This is the most durable and warm by far, and it's worth the weight if you want to have a inflatable pad that lasts a long time and is warm enough to camp over snow without issues. It would be perfect if it's available in short size: this would cut down the weight and bulk a bit!!

I have had the previous three versions of this pad, love every one of them. Usually I buy the big sizes just for extra space to roll, I bought this one regular size for the light weight for an eight month hiking trip, camping across 5 states (3 long trails). I have used previous versions in all temps from sleeping on top of snow to the beaches of Mexico. They have proven to be the best pad I have ever used.

This pad is a great choice for cold weather Backpacking-Mountaineering and possibly the best
By Gregory T.
This pad is a great choice for cold weather Backpacking-Mountaineering and possibly the best, considering that it holds the best weight to insulation ratio and also being very durable due to the 70d fabric at the bottom side. Considering the above, some minor drawbacks (bellow) can be excused. I have had the pad in all its versions, with the Classic valve, the Winglock valve and now the Nxt. Have spent many nights on the mountain on it and has never failed or had a puncture ( I always sleep i...

Fantastic
By Steffen W.
It far exceeded my expectations in terms of warmth, comfort, small weight, pack size, ans little noise.
With cutting edge Triangular Core Matrix construction and ThermaCapture technology, the XTherm NXT delivers a 7.3 R-value while weighing just 439 g (15.5 oz) in the Regular size. Put another way, the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any sleeping pad ever created. It is warmer, lighter and thicker than the previous model, which is why the XTherm NXT cements the legacy of being the go-to sleeping pad for alpinists, mountaineers and extreme cold expeditions. At 3-inches thick, with horizontal baffles, all-night comfort and support are at hand, while 70D nylon on the bottom ensures the XTherm NXT holds up to extended expedition use. The WingLock Valve allows for rapid inflation and deflation but is also intuitive and easy to use in frigid weather when the gloves are not coming off. If reliable overnight warmth is the demand no matter how far the mercury dips and space in the pack is at a premium, therefs no finer sleeping pad than the XTherm NXT.
