Warm, great option for pairing

Warm, great option for pairing with a sleeping pad while minimizing overall bulk. Also a great option for adding extra warmth to another sleeping bag. Overall a great add to any sleep system!

Warm enough

Took it down to -5C and felt comfortable with a light merino wool long sleeve on, although I am a warm sleeper

Excellent

I've used the Corus in Scotland England and wales hills in autumn and spring in temperatures just below zero paired with the neo air x as well as the Uber light, and more recently with a z fold Matt as well. This system works so well and is so lightweight and packable that I will never go back to my 3 season bag unless in high mountain winter conditions

Pocket too small

Hi. I own one Parsec and one Corus. Both are fine. Just one problem with Corus. The front pocket is too small for a phone. Surprisingly front pocket on Parsec is ok. It's very hard to understand why. I was really upset when I found it out.

Over all very good.

I have used this quilt for 3 backcountry trips lasting 7 nights each time. The pro's are its very packable, ultralight, cozy, con's are the insulation has clumped with big spaces, when using the quilt I find I need to wear my puffy jacket to block drafts on windy nights. For this reason, I am now going to buy a new product. I would not recommend this quilt for fall. For reference. I store my quilt in the larger storage bag, its never been soaked, I'm 5'2 and 130 pounds, I can not sleep on my side and have my back covered while being tucked in the other side. If this quilt was available in a rectangle version I would still consider buying that to replace this one.

only one design flaw

Overall good product, only downside is the fact that the down compartments are very big and the down tends to clump up in one place. It leaves spots where there is absolutely no insulation and thats a design flaw. Its either the compartments are too big or there is not enough down for the size of the compartments. Maybe some kind of separators dividing the big compartments in smaller sections would help keep the down distributed evenly.

I need to leave a review about this Quilt.

I bought this for a Solo Bike Packing Tour in New Zealand one year ago on a really nice year-end closeout sale. So I used it every night for three months because I was camping every night. Then got wrapped up in the Covid LockDown over there and set up shop in Wanganui, New Zealand at a hostel for 8 more weeks. Of course, I used this quilt as my bedding during that whole time. Then in June 2020 I left New Zealand and headed to Los Angeles where I rented a van and drove across the country with my bike in tow, camping as I headed back to Florida. Of course, using my Thermarest Quilt every night for two weeks. Finally, I arrived in Florida and have been here ever since taking care of my 92-year-old mother and using my quilt as my bedding every night since. So, after all, that, I needed to wash it so this what I did: I bought Nikwax down Soap, then I filled up the Samsung washer ( not Front Loader but impeller driven) added some soap, and placed the quilt inside started the wash cycle for a few minutes, stopped, then moved things around with my hands and repeat this about 4 times, then rinsed and repeated one time then drained the water, squeezed the water out of it best I could and let it drip outside near the pool for a few hours. Then I squeezed it again and returned it to the washer for a Spin, 5 minutes Spin, took it out and hung it in the garage with a fan blowing on it for three hours, took it out and brought it into the den and sprawled it on the couch for 24 hours and the fluff came back. Three days later the quilt is just like it was except for cleaner. The moral of the story is ""be careful and things will turn out well"".

Hit and miss quilt maybe not built for 3 seasons

Before I begin, I would like to preface that I am an avid lover of both Thermarest products, and the Cascade Designs family in general. To date the majority of my essential backpacking equipment comes from Cascade Designs and I will continue to use their products for the foreseeable future. That said, this piece may not be the best fit for my needs. Originally I purchased this quilt as an entry level quilt to save weight while thru hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. I had never used a quilt but was desperate to shave weight and as my sleeping bag was well overdue for a replacement this seemed like the best option. Since then I have used this quilt for roughly sixty days including for daily use at home, on backpacking trips in the Smokies and Shenandoah, and on a shoulder season overnight. The temperature did not drop below 32 in any of these situations, yet I am left with mixed feelings. Structurally I love everything about this quilt, the fabric is comfortable, down did very well in multiple wet scenarios, and it's cut generously enough that a figure 4 sleeper like myself is covered when sleeping under it at home. That said, this quilt is insufficiently warm for its claims. Specifically, I tested this quilt in three different backpacking scenarios while I tried to dial in my sleep system for the Pacific Crest Trail. The first trip the temperature hovered at thirty two degrees. As I understand the 32 is the lower threshold I paired the quilt with a neoair X lite pad, a closed cell foam pad, and a thermarest liner along with full long underwear. Unfortunately, I woke up several times that night with cold spots throughout the quilt. One the subsequent trips I replaced the liner with a sea to summit model purported to add 25 degrees to a bag rating, with all other factors constant, but cold spots remained. I love this product but will limit it to home use or as an overbag.

Really compact and quite comfortable

Used it for two nights so far and really like it. It's compact enough to stuff it into the small stuff sack pillow together with a XTherm mattress (both large size) while being more comfortable than a classic sleeping bag. Thermal rating seems to fit for me, but I generally don't need it very warm.

Best night sleep.

This is a great for camping, it packs smaller than my mummy bag and is warmer. I have used it on a few trips now. My only problem is that my wife now wants one too.

The better bag alternative

This (and blankets in general) are the new school of comfort for summer nights, and they're way more ""technical"" than you might think. I've been using this - and all it's predecessors - (the Alpine Blanket and Auriga) for years and there's simply no better way to sleep comfortably outside. I've used them on everything from alpine climbs and backpacks to car camping and watching movies at home (can't do all that with a BAG - let alone just one!) and I've slept comfortably down to the high 30's F. Rolling around freely, sticking a leg out for temperature regulation, and never wondering where the darn zipper is are but a few of the many bennies. They pack super small and weigh less than most bag alternatives, too. Honestly, if you need a new summer ""bag"", go for it. You will not be disappointed. In fact, you'll be downright surprised - in very good way. PS - I use them mostly with NeoAir XTherms or X-Lites, but using them on a Dreamtime should come with some sort of addiction warning.

Love it !

This is the first camping quilt I have ever purchased and let me tell you, it was one of the best camping gear purchases Ive ever made. This quilt is very light weight weight and compact and when combined with my Neo air mat and mat cover the quilt snaps on perfectly. One thing I was worried about was, because Im a big guy i wasnt sure if it was going to work well when I slept on me side but because of the width and draft tubes there was no cool air coming in.

A great design for 1-2 season camping

Without doubt this style of quilt is the future for outdoor sleeping systems. It gives the lightweight advantages (approximately 2/3rds the weight of an equivalent traditional sleeping bag) with the joyous comfort of the duvet on your own bed and doesn't leave you twisted up in the way sleeping bags do when rolling from one side to the other. Its also easy to connect a pair of quilts together for couples. I've only recently received the Corus HD Quilt, but spent over 100 nights in last years model the Auriga, cycling through Europe for 5 months. It's obvious the designers have carefully thought through the improvements for the Corus HD Quilt. They have increased the down fill from 260g in the Auriga to 350g in the Corus, which in itself, appears to retain the position of the down through the night far better. Also I think using Hydrophobic Down is a good idea, reducing the worry about moisture around the tent and the slightly shiny outer material prevents moisture beads soaking in. There are two side baffles on each side to prevent any cold drafts as you turn over through the night and snap fasteners to connect to the universal sheet or directly to the mat with supplied self adhesive loops if required. The quilt comes with a small travel bag as well as a mesh storage bag. The Corus HD is clearly designed for 1-2 season camping, and I still get cold below about 8'C, and would consider the updated Vela HD for UK and northern Europe camping to extend into early Spring to late Autumn.
