Really comfortable and really big. Take the size into consideration. Takes up a lot of room in the car. Worth it though.

I have 3 different version of this product, spanning decades, all are still functional. I also have several thermarest portable seat cushions, using the same tech as these inflatable beds, all getting heavy use, hours everyday, as meditation cushions. My main basecamp, an older generation of this one, was over 10 years old and being used everyday as my bed, in my house. One day it developed an air bubble, due to the interior foam becoming delaminated from the shell, and the bubble grew bigger over a few days and the product became unusable. I remember the pad probably had a limited lifetime warranty, like the current models, and I contacted the company through email to inquire if my pad could be repaired. The response time seemed slow, about 2 weeks, but once we made contact, they confirmed they would honor the warranty. My pad's issue was not repairable, so they sent me a new one which arrived in about a week. I went back and looked at the statement for the warranty, and in it they said they would respond to request within 3 weeks. They kept their word! I'm super impressed. In this day and age, with all the lying and fraudulence going on in pharmacy, health care, supreme court, religion, I'm always happy to learn there are people who mean what they say, and honor their word. I love the thermarest products, and felt it was important to give positive feedback in this review, thereby inspiring other people and companies in the world to really have integrity, honesty, and support your products with conviction.

The BaseCamp is great! The valve is a great improvements from older ones, inflates by itself without the need to add air, and most of all, it is very comfortable and accommodates even the arms in various sleeping positions (I got the XL size). It packs quite small for its size. Highly recommended!

Dear Cascade Designs, This sleeping pad is very hard to roll up and is very slippery with my Coleman sleeping bag. Would I buy another one? No! My previous Thermarest sleeping pad only lasted 40 years or so & I used it hundreds of times. I will be surprised if this one holds up as well. ( I picked this one because it seemed to be the most similar to my previous pad. The old Thermarest was easy to roll up & was not slippery. I have no use for the self inflating feature, I'm old school I guess ) Ed

Just back from 6 nights on my BaseCamp sleeping pad at BSA summer camp. So glad I had this one. Slept well all week. Once I got the firmness set where I like it at first I never had to adjust again the whole week. I would recommend this pad.

Everything I expected from you guys. I bought my first short hiking size mat from you in the early '80's and it needs another patch, but otherwise still good. This is a good quality sleeping pad. Easy to use - inflate and deflate. I do wish it were a bit wider. Seems a bit narrow for what it is. Even my 10 year old son finds it narrow. one or two more inches wider would make this a way better product.

I did not believe a pad this thin would be comfortable or be a barrier in the cold. I am extremely impressed even after a 40 degree night camping last fall. I was snuggle and comfortable all night.

I bought this for my mom originally. She's 90 and still loves camping, but can't backpack anymore. Then I bought one for my husband and finally wised up and bought one for myself! My husband and I put our 2 together, put on a fitted sheet, top sheet, & down comforter and we are styling!Mine is the newest and has the new valve that you twist to release the air so your not losing air as you take another breath to blow it up. Yeah, I make sure that I have marked that as mine. Makes it easier and faster to blow it up.

Great large, comfortable, and warm pad. It packs large, but I often strap it to the bottom or top of my pack when I backpack in the shoulder seasons, or at high elevation in the summer. Easy to pull on a sled while xcountry skiing overnights and worth its weight for warmth. Durable and comfortable.
