I bought my UltraPress based on the needs and past experiences I've had being it the Arizona back country and running out of drinkable water. Feel a sense of security now.

I am trying it out to see if the "purifier media" goes away like the agent told me (after about 10 presses).

The UktraPress' low volume footprint is ideal for day hikes, or backpcking where water supply wayer sources are plentifull, or as a supplement reservoir to refill other canteens/containers. The 16. 9 size fits cup holders, take up little space when slipped into a school or office bag, keeping drinking water always close at hand. . It is a useful and welcome addition for many occasions.

I live near southern Ohio, where most of my hiking happens. The area was heavily minded for iron ore. I needed something that incorporated greensand along with micro filtration. Plus the taste improvement with using carbon too. The bonus is I can remove the filter and use it as a regular water bottle at home. And also travel with it.

I've used it a few times for travel and it's been great. Easy to carry and easy to use. The water is phenomenal tasting and I'll be a user for life. It is small so I'm picking one up for each member of the family!

I have used this on several hikes. I have done countless searches for THE best water filter for on the go. Grayl consistently is tested for being #1. I have used this when traveling too. Hotel sink water? No problem? Hiking river water? No problem. I will gladly pay extra for peace of mind for clean water. I have the 24 oz for hiking and Truck camping but just bought the smaller one for an international trip Im about to go on. Thanks Grayl!

This is the best way to get a lot of water fast. My concerns getting clean water to start. 1) I don't always have a waterfall to just stick my container and draw water. I'm thinking of a way to make a way to throw my bottle in the lake/creek and reel it in/ lift it out. Bankline cordage net. Throw it/drop it down and pull it back to Daddy. 2) keeping abrasive contaminates and large particles out of the initial press. Strainer cup in a cup? I know I'm complicating things, but don't want to get on my hands and knees to get water. And don't want to wear it out. Am very excited to get some water through it. This is the best way to quickly filter water.

We are heading to Patagonia and added another Grayl to our supplies so my husband and I can both be safe from hotel to trail.

This is our 3rd purchase of one and it's become a staple to keep with us at all times since we work in the back country so often, as well as play. Thank you for keeping us hydrated and safe!

This is my second Grayl bottle. The first one I used during a cruise and loved it so much that I bought a second one for the Missus. No more buying bottled water any where.

It's hot in Japan in August and bottled water is frowned upon there (you can buy it, but it's very difficult to find trash cans in Japan) and there aren't tons of water fountains. So I filtered Grayl water everywhere I found. Lakes and streams (every park has a lake), some public fountains (I got some weird looks, but that's ok) and my hotel tap (the water is safe but doesn't taste very good. ) So glad I had it!

Love this product! I always take it travelling and I love not having to buy bottled water anywhere I go. . . It makes life easy and reduces environmental impacts. Best travel tool.

I've had a GeoPress for a while, got this specifically for domestic and international travel. It slides easily into my backpack bottle pocket, slender for packing. And the outer cup fits well under a hotel sink. I've had tap water in 20 countries, never got sick!

?????????? Best Purchase of Our Entire Europe Trip This water bottle purifier? Actually elite. I took it backpacking through Europe I'm a mom and with older sons, and it was a total game-changer. We filled it up anywhere-train stations, random hotel sinks, little cafés-and all we had to do was press down and boom: clean, safe water every single time. Not once did any of us get sick, which honestly felt like a miracle considering how chaotic our trip was. It was effortless, reliable, and saved us so much money on bottled water. I'm telling you, this thing is worth every penny. If you're traveling, hiking, or just like being prepared, this is the one. Absolutely recommend. ????

Many name brand companies tried . . . Always come back to Grayl! A+++ As a long time Grayl user, I can really testify of the effectiveness of their water purifiers. We've used them for years extensively in the most unsanitary locations and require every accompanying team member to have their own. On one occasion, a person from a partnering team, drinking unfiltered water from the same water sources we used to fill our Grayl's, died from cholera and typhoid. At that moment, I was ever so thankful for their product! That being said, last month, I purchased yet another 16. 9oz UltraPress for an upcoming international excursion. For the first time I had a problem. The outer cylinder must have been warped because it leaked something fierce no matter what I did. Soon after filing a request online, Scott responded and facilitated a replacement. He made the process fast, efficient, and painless. . . Thanks Scott for your quality customer assistance and thanks Grayl for a great and reliable filter system! This review is unsolicited and unconnected to Grayl in anyway. We've fully paid for all the filters we've used. I'm not normally a review writer. . . But this product line is real!

Have used it 3 times this week on the Blackfoot river in Montana which is a very clean river. I followed every step but the water i filtered tasted strange like dirt. I'll keep using it to see if it gets better. I don't know if I would recommend or not yet. Need to use more but I see the option below requires I have to answer (Maybe you want to change that option)

I wanted to find a water bottle that could filter out all bad things and have the cleanest water to drink. My forcus was microplastics especially from plastic water bottles while working. This bottle is convenient and worth the few seconds to apply pressure to have clean water. I have showed and told all my colleagues about it as well. Great product.

This ultrapress was purchased as a gift. The person will be traveling (not camping) in remote places outside the U. S. and as there are weight and luggage/backpack restrictions on airlines, we felt a smaller lighter filter advisable.

I haven't tried this yet. Found the online instructions on how to separate pieces very helpful. Bought this to take on trip to Kenya in November. Will try it at some point with tap water to make sure I know what I'm doing. I like the size and the color. I'm a small woman and it's easy for me to hold. So far I'm impressed.

Happy ultrapress owner

I am very pleased with my purchase of the ultrapress. I was looking at different brands for durability, size and ease of use. The ultrapress fit the criteria perfectly. Very well made and it is the perfect size for me. The filtering capabilities are much better then others out there on the market. I was a little reluctant to purchase it because of the price but after having it I can say I'm glad i didn't settle for something of lower quality over the grayl.
