Not even sure where to begin, perhaps with I love this shoe. I hate to compare it to an SUV, but it's like the best one you can imagine- it does it all! Super light, agile as all get out- it is like running in moccasins with protection. You are able to run downhill with confidence because the shoes grip on little edges-slippery gravel-mud-wet rock-dry rock- off camber surfaces- you name it! You feel the ground just enough, almost to the point of too much but not quite that far. The upper "sock" opens easily when you put your foot in, and then does not rub as you run. Lastly, Salomon has somehow engineered a mid-sole that gives a perceptible rebound or spring to it as your foot-strike releases and you push off for another step- bounce if you will and you can feel it as you gain momentum. The fit is true to size if not slightly wider than the "narrow" description, and the length is slightly longer than the size but not so much to size up (unless you wanted to wear thicker socks at cold temps perhaps). I have not run over 15 miles in them yet, I have read some reviews say they are not for over a marathon but I am not so sure. They are so good in every situation, I can't imagine they would suck at the ultra distance?! Can't wait to find out.
