Almost perfect. Two things would do that. 1. Offer it in a left hand zip, or Have the zippers come down further on each side 2. Needs stake out points. I'm sewing two on at the foot box, one each at the base of the support pole, and one at the head to help keep the support pole up in the air.

I have used the US Army MSS sleep system for years w the Gortex bivy (woodland on duty, surplus ACU one now). In winter/Fall nothing beats it. But in the summer you are exposed to ticks, mosquitos where we live or worse?snakes and recluse spiders. Even when on duty wherever in the world as the bivy has no mesh bug net to protect your face you worry about snakes and scorpions. Even saw a snake crawl into a guys Army bivy once on deployment! There are civilian bivy snd USMC with the bug net built in, but nothing is as waterproof, breathes and as rugged bulletproof as an old army bivy. There is a cool factor. So Spring and Summer always a problem w no bug net. Until now! The slumberjack bug bivy went right over my MSS system to create a true 4 season system. Tents no longer needed at all. This slumberjack bug bivy weighs less than a pound, packs down flat to about 3/4? by 8? wide. Perfect to slide into the inside back of a small pack or even hydration bladder. Or you can pack it attached w the MSS system in the large army compression bag. System altogether ready to go. The cool thing is that you can either put this bug bivy completely on the outside of the whole system in Spring n Summer so you can sleep open faced w bug net protection. The hoops sits up perfect all night. Or as I do in winter I will detach the gortex bivy buttons from the inner sleeping bags and just put the bivy over the inner sleeping bags but under the gortex bivy which goes over everything. Disadvantage your gortex bivy doesn?t unzip w the inner bags in unison. But the advantage is you get the army bivy and heavy cover on the outside to protect from rain, while the bug bivy is on the inside the hoop holds up the army bivy giving you headspace like a Snugpack Stratodphere would. I don?t know why Slumberjack doesn?t advertise the hell out of this thing, to use in combo w The Army MSS system. This thing is just awesome and makes it so you don?t wish you had anything else. The MSS w Slumberjack bug bivy beats the USMC bivy, Snugpak type stratosphere or anything else out there!

I just set up the bivy for the first time, and in only about three seconds! I love the lightweight for bikepacking in Arizona.

I didn't get a chance to use it yet because I payed for 2 day shipping and didn't get it until 4th day. I had to leave that morning at 5 and it go to my house at 11. When I got home I set it up to take a look. I think I am going to need to add some rings to stake it out to help hold up the head portion. I have to say I think for the it's going to work great. Seems to be well made. I can't wait to try it out on my next hiking or kayak multi-day trip.

We bought these for our family to go on an epic backpacking trip - trying to ditch our tent and go lightweight. We could fit our sleeping pads in it, and our bags of course - extra long sleeping pads worked best. Kept the bugs out! I liked the tarp bottom, so we didn't have to carry a groundtarp. I actually rolled up my sleeping bag, sleeping pad and bivy up together for super easy packing and unpacking. These worked really well for us!

I use a trap as my primary shelter. I was looking for a bivy to protect against mosquitoes and other critters. I love the breathability the bug bivy provides. The only addition I would consider for this product is adding 3 -4 point to steak the bivy down. It will aid in lifting the screen out of the individuals face while sleeping.

The bug bivy seems like a great bargain for bug protection. But, it needs to have some specs listed for it. The bivy is quite small in girth. I'm not a small dude but I'm not huge and I couldn't even zip it up.

Plan to use this in bug season in White's NH with open military bivy backpacking. My bivy, sleeping bag and pad fit into this very light weight screen bivy. Should do the trick.
