Great jacket, super portable. Fits really well too. Side panels (more ventilated sections) seem delicate and don?t know if they will age well but very happy so far.

I've had this jacket for about a year. I like it quite a bit. It's a nice weight for southern California. Much of the time it's been my go to jacket because it is light in weight and provides the right amount of warmth. Fit was good and the workmanship has been typically excellent Sierra Designs. I bought a Twilight sleeping bag in 1981 and retired it three years ago for another Sierra Designs bag. My only beef with the jacket is that my sweat has discolored the jacket around my neck and around the back of my shoulders. Otherwise, I happily endorse the jacket.

I am 6’ 185 athletic. My shoulders are pretty average for my size. I wear a medium in a lot of sweaters but this seemed to be tailored for kid.

Love this jacket. Comfy, reasonably packable, and good looking. But it’s best saved for active days, as lots of body heat will exit through those fleece sleeve and ribcage areas. It’s not a standard puffy for lounging around the fire on a cold night etc, as those fleece bits work well to let the heat out. Perfectly suited for wearing under a shell while skiing.

I wear this sweater a lot! Not too warm - perfect for autumn, or as a layer under a parka.

Great little jacket to stuff in your pack. Surprisingly warm yet breathable due to the side panels. The sleeves are a little long but don’t seem to bunch up too bad. Pretty tight fit in the body.

This sweater puffy is toast & the underarm / side body lighter venting pretty well lets my vent out nicely when more active. I've been using this as a top layer for general walking around w/ a midweight base (for 30s/40s temps) and for mtn-biking w/ a longsleeve jersey in the 30's and its sweeeeeeet. Nice color, and I'm pretty stoked. I'm 6'4'' and got the large, fits perfectly.

I love the small, easily compressable form factor of this sweater/jacket. Since it has primaloft insulation, it is not bulky and takes up very little room when compressed and placed in your backpack. Looking it over, I don't see the self stowing zippered pocket it is advertised to have, unless you are supposed to stuff it in one of the two outside zippered pockets, found on either side. Fits me perfectly but I have to say that it runs slightly small, so glad I ordered the X-large, which is a good fit for me and quite comfortable. The stretch fleece panels give you great range of motion and comfort. You can tell the designer gave this jacket a lot of thought. Should be the perfect compliment when hiking the trail. Can't wait to find out.

Offshore fishing on the west coast and Alaska is a passion but staying warm can be a challenge. I've had the Tuolumne sweater for two seasons now and it's great. Bundle up in the morning and stay toasty. Take if off in the afternoon and it packs to the size of a softball. The outer nylon is not very sturdy so you need to wear a tough shell on top, durability is the trade off for the small packed size. The synthetic fill handles the damp conditions well. The water resistant coating lasted about a year but is easy to renew with Nikwax washing and spray. Overall a great product.

The fit is somewhat athletic. I’m 6’4” 210 and I am an XL but didn’t want all the extra material in the waist and chest area, so I went with the Large. To be expected the sleeves and shoulders run tight but the fit is to my body and it is what I wanted. It’s not as warm as a Monkey coat but compared to my NF thermoball, I like this one more. It’s a great stand alone layer to the freezing temps, but if there is wind, it cuts through it. Overall very satisfied. Only complaint is it doesn’t have a chest pocket and the insulation material weeps from the stitching ever so slightly. Other than that, I still give it two thumbs up and five stars.

I really love this sweater. It works perfectly for cooler weather and allows for freedom of movement when hiking. The fleece siding not only breathes well but adds the extra stretch needed when wearing a pack and needing to really stretch the arms and twist the torso. I wouldn’t recommend this for braving the elements below thirty degrees, as it can get a bit chilly with the lighter synthetic fill and the fleece sides.

I’m pleased with my purchase. The jacket is elegantly cut and constructed. The weight is very nice outdoors for southern California. The filled portions seem to block wind, though I haven’t been exposed to much wind during a cold spell. It’s a bit too warm for me (male) indoors but good as clothing when going inside and outside without overheating in inside or being cold outside. The fit was good for me, a bit better than Patagonia’s Nano Puff jacket. I did not notice stretch side panels on the body and sleeves before my purchase. I probably would not have bought the sweater had I seen that, but that was my mistake. I do not notice cold leaking in on these panels. Also, the stretch allows the jacket to fit my 60+ year old shape better than the Nano Puff mentioned. Over all, I’m happy and would recommend the Tuolumne Sweater.

Sierra Designs has always produced the highest quality outdoor wearables on the market and nothing has changed. Such a great light outerwear for cool days but also good even on days when it goes from cool to cold! If you need a light to med jacket this will do wonders for you

Not too warm and not too puffy. I wear it with a t-shirt in the winter (30s/40s)I like how it drapes and moves with me. It has just enough fill to do the job. Generous cut makes it fit right. Doesn’t cut out the wind all that great and get rid of the fleece strips. Overall performed much better than I expected for a “sweater”. Will stay with Sierra Designs for my next purchase.
