So far my tent has served me SO well, and is definitely comparable to the Big agnes copper spur 2 platinum tent. It is incredibly simple to set up and tear down, and I love the way the rain fly is designed to roll up halfway for night sky views!

Packed easily, unpacked and setup fairly quickly, kept me dry when several of my hiking companions weren?t so fortunate, and has plenty of room. Used it for 1 person and gear but will work for 2 people storing gear in the vestibules. Plan to buy another!

I have taken this tent on multiple backpacking trips in the High Sierras. The tent has worked amazingly for me and a friend easy to split up weight and very easy to set up! A couple minor notes the fabric for the fly is very light and very thin so fragile but also sags a bit when you get condensation in the tent. Made for a slightly wet morning when we got rained on getting to our campsite. Also I have taken the tent on a couple solo trips and its big for one person. Some people like a lot of space but if you are looking for a solo tent I shoot for a 1P just to save on weight and mass.

As an avid backpacker for almost 25 years, I can say that I am very pleased with this tent. SO much better in every way than the hubba hubba by comparison as an example. Not my first Sierra Designs tent either btw and they have all been great. For the record we also own An msr hubba, hubba hubba, bibler I tent, older meteor lite for like '03 and the Hercules AST (also an SD tent) Tons of headroom sitting up and a very roomy for both lengthwise and side by side. I'm 5'9 and can stretch fully inside. My wife and I and our dog fit in easily. Both vestibules are very roomy and the stargazing feature is very cool. Overall quality seems excellent and the tent is impressively sturdy when pitched and guyed out. Waterproofing in weather seems excellent in steady rain and wind so far as well. I could go on but it seems like we will be loving this tent for a long time to come. MINOR nitpick is the easily bent stakes that come with the tent as others have noted but again this is minor and I have already replaced with some y-peg style. Buy this tent!

Easy setup, very solid tent. Love the double doors, the huge sense of space and dual vestibules. Only serious complaint, and one that puzzles me-is why no more inside tent pockets (just 2).

This is my first backpacking tent, and it doesn't disappoint! It's compact but oh so durable, and has withstood a surprise summer thunderstorm, as well as 30mph winds. It's a breeze to set up and take down (thank you, burrito bag!), and leaves little to be desired. My only wish is that it came with a footprint and/or was designed with a thicker denier floor fabric. Other than that, hard to beat for the weight and price point.

Have only set up in family room so far, but set up easy, and was quite roomy. Looking forward to using it on trail and pulling back fly to peer up at the stars.

For adventures below tree line and when the sun comes up before breakfast time, the Meteor Lite 2 has just what I need, no more, no less. With two doors and two vestibules it’s a perfect couple’s fast-&-light tent. Haven’t had it out in a deluge but the vertical overlap of the bathtub floor and bottom of edge of the fly should keep everything but snow flurries out of the tent, even if the wind picks up some. The top vent in the fly provides convection flow to keep condensation down. Very happy with this tent!

Only set it up in my backyard. Have not used it on a trip yet. I like that the weight is less than 4 lbs. Set up process was fairly straightforward once I oriented to it. I also bought the footprint, but the corner connections to the tent were not intuitive and the "instructions" were minimal and poor. I've been an avid hiker, fisherman, climber and mountaineer for 45 years and mechanically inclined, and it wasn't clear to me how it attaches. I will have to figure out how best to attach the footprint. Any help there would be appreciated. - Steve

Only downfall would be the vestibule fly is a bit goofy to get in and out of

I switched to this tent from a similar size/weight backpacking tent that only had 1 door, and was your classic 'tent' shape. This tent has been an upgrade in every way! Two large doors and vestibules, almost vertical walls, lighter weight, and easy to set up/store. I used this tent in a literal hurricane passing over Kentucky and stayed dry even while surrounded by inches of water outside of my tent. The ventilation is much improved over my previous tent, and storing is a breeze- I love the burrito bag!

Good. I like the light weight and easy set up. The size and headroom is perfect. The tent fabric breathes well, almost too well as this would be a two season tent in Montana. My only complaint is the small zippers require two hands. A great backpack tent for two or a guy with a dog.

Just used our new Meteor Lite 2 for a 3 night backpacking in Montana's Spanish Peaks wilderness. We opted not to do a practice set-up before we began but despite the rain on arrival, found it incredibly easy to set up. The tent feels a bit delicate - however it packs down so much smaller than our previous lightweight backpacking tent. And it feels significantly lighter too. I'm excited to keep using it.

Took this tent with me on a motorcycle trip though Colorado. We hit different campsites each night over a six night trip. I’ve would leave a pearly in the morning and usually arrive pretty late in the evening...which can make it tough for setting up and tearing down... not with this tent! So light, compact and a breeze to setup and tear down. People we met in the camp grounds were amazed that we would get all of our equipment in my small chopped tour pack on the bike. Only issue I had was the zipper would catch in the fly every time I zipped or unzipped. But it was easy to pull out of the zipper and keep going. Definitely love this tent for helping to be on the move quickly and with little space.

Awesome tent! Was super easy to set up. Just enough room for two people with excellent venting when needed, but kept us warm also when the cool wind kicked up. Best of all, it was super light weight and easy to pack.

First night out we hit heavy and constant win. Held up just fine. My friends tent (not SD) was trashed in the morning.

This tent is seriously voluminous! So much so that I actually thought SD sent me the 3p by mistake! Its X pole design makes it really stable and easy to set up, yet despite its lightweight materials it doesn’t feel fragile (though I still woulda gone with a thicker denier floor fabric). The lack of an overhead (lamp) pocket is a disappointment but maybe in its place SD could redesign the burrito bag to double as a hanging sky pocket? Definitely one of the best lightweight (without being fragile) tents on the Market in 2020!

Sierra Designs has always impressed me by making products that make sense at every step, and this tent is no exception. Every loop, hook, zipper, attachment, corner and connection is thoughtful. I love the easy assembly of the poles, the smart tie downs for the rain fly, and the enormity of the interior of this tent! My partner and I sleep comfortable in it with my large, 75lb collie. The three of us weathered a night in an open area with very high winds in this tent, and never once was I concerned about its integrity. It was such a relief not to worry about my fly coming loose, snapping a pole, or my gear under the vestibule - this tent guys down tight! I knew the Lite was, you know, light weight, but I was still surprised when I picked up the box and nearly threw it! This tent packs super nicely. I recommend not rolling the poles in the burrito bag, as they are the length-limiting factor of the packed tent. Altogether fantastic product, I couldn't ask for anything more.
