No doubt in quality of product, but I think it runs little smaller. It's kind of little tighter for me although large is my regular size. I am going to keep it anyway. Quality product for half price.

Got this for a ski trip to whitefish. Temps get pretty cold on the mountain compared to hood so I wanted an extra layer. This thing is toasty but also super comfy. Since the ski trip I have been pairing it with my rain jacket in dog walks. Full down sleeves make me too hot in the spring. Love to wear this at my desk in the morning while I warm up and get my day in full swing.

This vest fits as advertised, layers well beneath a shell, and looks good when worn by itself. I wear for skiing when additional warmth is needed but without the bulk of a down coat.

This vest is GREAT. It is also extremely warm. We've had temps in the teens for the last few weeks and this has been excellent at keeping me warm. I had a seam issue with my prior vest from OR and the return and replacement was so easy. Great company and will continue to buy from them.

Very good quality and extremely warm for a vest. I am 5'7 and the medium got me perfect. The chest pocket fits my iPhone 13 and the hand warmers are lined on both sides and feel nice. The arm holes are sized correctly compared to some other brands that I couldn't wear due to them being to small if you have an athletic build. I love to layer this under my chore coat and parka.

The vest weighted in a manner that maintains the correct amount of warmth. I felt extremely comfortable one my hikes in Joshua Tree. In addition, the left upper exterior pocket is just the right size for my phone. Highly recommended.

This is a great packable vest, and it looks good and is warm on its own. I wanted a down layer to fit underneath my semi-insulated Goretex shell for those extremely cold ski days and this vest fits the bill. It is surprisingly warm, there is no restriction on my arm movements, and it does not puff up under my outer layers like most other down vests (think marshmellow man/woman). The pocket locations are fantastic for easy access, especially the chest pocket when it's under another jacket, and there is even an elastic drawcord to cinch it tight around the waist to keep out the cold and snow. When it arrived I was shocked at how small the package was, this is great for saving space in a pack. The material is somewhat water repellant, but it will not stand up to an extended soak. Nice and light on its own for those warmer days

Strengths: very lightweight, compresses pretty good in a bag, warm, durable, looks good enough to get some compliments Weakness: the fit is not great for my body type (5'10"/175 lbs). Its just a little baggy around my mid section. It does not block wind very well, but its a down vest so that is not expected, but I think that is helpful to know. Recommend to others: yes Would I buy again: No and the only reason is I probably would not buy a down vest again. There has been no signs of wear or damage from hiking/climbing so far, but it just seems like a tear is inevitable. How often does it leave the closet: This is a go to layer that I use very frequently. I like that you can add a layer without adding to much bulk on your body and none on your arms. Pretty much all of my other jackets comfortably fit over the vest which is nice.

I have used this vest several times since receiving it for resort smoking in a variety of conditions. I love the fit of the vest, the lining in the pockets, the breast pocket location, and the ideal amount of insulation.

Being tall is hard sometimes but the cut of the helium vest is perfect for me 6'2" 190lbs (size large) The helium falls at the right place and is light/packable but punches way about it's weight in terms of warmth.

Quality matches the many other items I regularly wear and abuse from OR. I looked at a number of vests from different manufactures and choose the Helium due to history with OR, and just the right amount of 800fill (not too much). Packs well, wears well and layers perfect with a softshell or shell in the shoulder season. Only point to highlight is that the cut is boxy and chest is on the snug side pending your build. I am 5'10" athletic build (42" chest, 32" waist) and purchased a size medium. Not a ding on the vest, just awareness as you shop.
