Great pants for hiking. love the Ferrosi collection. However pulling the pants over the hips is quite a chore, almost to the point they will rip out. Once they're in place the fit is good. For reference I'm 5'1" 106 lbs. Hips are 34. It shouldn't be this hard to pull them up. Size medium would be too large otherwise. Maybe the new version has addressed this issue.

My go-to hiking pants are some out-of-production leggings from a competitor, but they're too heavy for warm SoCal hikes. Enter these. The fabric feels fantastic-sort of crisp, like a cotton dress shirt, but stretchy, and not shiny or plasticky. The pockets are nice, although they could be deeper and there's wasted space on the waistband, which could accommodate more or bigger pockets. The length is slightly on the short side; I'm not quite 5'7" and these hit the tops of my ankles. Per others' comments, these run narrow in the hips, which can require some spirited dancing to get them on. Personally I prefer a looser fit (think slim pants, not leggings), plus I didn't relish having to maneuver these on inside a backpacking tent or squatting behind a tree and risking ripping a seam-so I sized up from small to medium. (I'm generally a size 4, or 27 waist in pants.) Also, the crotch gusset is quite small and a little awkwardly placed, so I found that these, uh, showed off my anatomy less when I sized up. A wider crotch gusset that starts higher up in the front (so the center seam can't work its way up) would fix that issue. If you can find the right fit, these are great! Both the small and the medium were comfortable and generally flattering once on, and the flat, soft waistband, sans heavy seams or buttons, will be great for backpacking.

Highly recommend these - they're equally comfortable as they are practical in outdoor settings. Ive only worn them in winter conditions and they have been great at cutting the wind. Anxious to see how they perform in the heat while outfitting groups this summer.

These leggings are wonderful! I followed previous reviews and sized up from medium to large for length and ease of getting the pants on. Reviews listed not enough give in the waist, but they are a legging style and meant to be worn without a belt, so doesn't bother me. I've worn these hiking with a baselayer underneath to stay warm and dry, but I think they will be nice in the summer as well as they are breathable and lightweight like the rest of the ferrosi line. Definitely would recommend

I bought a medium (usually wear Levi's 29 long) and these fit well. I can squeeze a pair of leggings underneath, but would probably get a size up if I was going to layer under them regularly. LOVE all the pockets. Versatile for running around town and on a hike. Layered them under my bibs skiing, went on a long bike ride in the wind and they protected me well. Excited to try them climbing this spring!

After reading the reviews I ordered a Large 5'9" 132 lbs (also gained 1" additional length). Great fabric, love the side pockets.

I ordered the small and I am a size 4 normally. They fit great. As people said the waist is a bit tight to pull over hips but they fit great when on with a draw string for exact sizing. I like a bit of a looser fit so these work well with me, to be specific, the knee and calf area is not super tight fitting. The material is not like lulu lemon kind of material, it stiffer and more like a light canvas. Really durable. I LOVE the pockets, literally couldn't be better with two big pockets AND a zipper pocket. This is a really nice cross between quick dry style pants and tights and I will wear them a lot im sure.

These pants were ultra-comfortable. They stretched and fit where needed and were wonderful for a walk in wet and windy winter weather.

I really wanted to enjoy these pants bought a size XS for a friend and a medium for myself (5"4,125lbs). The mediums are huge on me. I usually wear a small but I sized up Based on the reviews saying they were "running small". So frustrating. Odd enough, I couldn't even fit my legs into the XS, so I really wonder how the small size is.

This was my second pair of Ferrosi leggings because I loved my first pair so much. I normally wear a small (size 4; 27-28 inch waist) but I sized up because the small felt good once on, but was too hard to get on and off. These don't stretch as much as traditional leggings, but what makes the Ferrosi material so great is the wind, water and abrasion resistance. I figured if I wanted to wear them while being active outside in the woods, sizing up would give me the room I needed to move easily. The outside thigh pockets are super functional, and the waist is comfortable. I will wear them working from home, and I've worn them hiking. The are a little too much for a really warm hike though. I don't get many comments on the black pair, but every time I wear my green ones, someone either asks about them or says they like them.

Awesome pants. I wore them on all my high elevation hikes this past summer. They did equally well in either 90 degrees or 30 degrees. The pockets are what make them especially awesome - one small zipper pocket for chapstick etc. Then other easy access pockets to store gloves etc as you layer off. Only thing I'd like to be improved is maybe nix the drawstring and replace with elastic? Honestly - the pants are a little hard to maneuver when using the restroom outdoors as a female. Haha - just wanted to be honest :)

I love these pants for 3 season hiking and climbing. I live in NH and rip my pants on big rocks daily! These have held up. Super flattering and love the pocket. Tight waist as others have said but it works for me

What a cool pant/legging! I just ordered another pair. I am 5' 11" 150 and ordered large based on other reviews. They fit great. I could use a little more length, but they are fine. I agree with the reviews that they are tight going on but feel great on and have a drawstring for fine tuning. I may have fit in a medium, but I don't love tight clothes. I have used them for hiking, backpacking, cycling (casual cycling - still use kit for longer rides) and hanging out at the campsite. I love the thigh pockets - fits my phone for quick pictures, small wallet, mask, and lip balm. I even dressed them up with a nice long tank top and sandals. Super versatile.

They aren't leggings in the tradition sense, but something better in my opinion. They are trim in the waist and ankles which is just what I'm looking for. I have ample hips and a small waist so though it's a little squeeze getting them on they fit like a dream. I feel more confident wearing these as pants without something covering my hips and the pockets! Definitely getting another pair my husband even loves them and wishes they had something similar in men's for a running tight type pants.

These are great leggings, hitting the sweet spot between leggings and trousers, with durable materials and great pockets. The loden colour is gorgeous. I sized up after reading reviews, and I'm happy I did. They are snug to get over the hips, but indeed great once on. I just wish they were longer! I'm tall, 5'10/178 cm, and these finish about ten cm above my ankle bones, plus the cordura on the knees finishes right on my kneecap rather than below. I guess I have well protected thighs, and I'll just pretend they are capris ;) Seriously though, great piece of kit, and please please make these in a longer length too!

Super durable pants, love the drawstring. Not in love with the fit as it's a bit too tight and I have super skinny legs. Also, these pants are too short! Please consider making Long (and petite!) versions of your pants sizes :)

Love the fit and breathability of these pants. The one star down is for the color. The green is not the same forest color as other Ferrosi pants I have, and the color is not inviting to wear, I am on the fence of returning them, just to wait until other colors are available. These pants are very versatile, I can see using them for travel, bike riding, hiking, camping, climbing, etc. I'm 5"7, 150lb and the L fit great. Good length, not too tight around the waist or legs.

Great concept for the pants. Love the Loden colour (its like an olive/brownish green) that looks absolutely amazing with the OR Emersion fleece crew in the beeswax colour (I bought both). The fabric is great as well. The only issue with these pants is they are really difficult to pull over your hips. I am not a hippy gal to begin with, but it brought back memories of teenage years and the sisterhood of the traveling pants trying to shimmy in and out of them. Super comfy once on, but if you are trekking in areas where you don't want to moon people while squatting or trying to pull yourself together in the woods its a consideration... I ordered mine in S. Possibly a M may have bee better for the covid 15..the waist doesn't have much stretch, but they do fit super sweet once on.

Super excited to try these that I literally put them on as soon as I received them today. First off putting them on was a bit snug going over my hips but once over them babies they fit nicely at the waist. I ordered a Large and I'm not curvy at all so this was surprising. They don't give much at the waist. There's a built in string on the inside and they are high waisted so once you get them over them hips they fit really comfortable. The material is light, stretchy and breathable like their other ferrosi products. Knees and butt have a stronger material (cordura) it's lightweight as well but with not much give. Length is spot on( I'm 5'9 ) so far I've only used them for my pelaton workout but plan to take them to Sedona this weekend for some hiking. I give it a 4 stars only because I really wish they would have included a gusseted crotch. That center seam goes right up you're lady bits ??If you are a fan of their ferrosi line as I am you will like/love these.
