I wore this the day after I bought it and it was great. Temp was around -5 Celsius and I used it as a base layer. Kept me warm and comfortable.

Great wool baselayer - lighter than some of my heavier ones, which is exactly what I needed for touring. Doesn't get too hot on the uphill compared to the heaver weight merino baselayers I have, still keeps my warm enough, easy to layer with, really enjoying it!

Was my first merino baselayer ever and I am impressed by its ability to keep warmth while being breathable. Much better than typical synthetic baselayers in cold temperatures (0c and below). Good fit and feels great as well. I have used it 6-8 times already this season. Using it with fleece for midlayer and a hardshell for 6km/h walks or hiking so under light activity. We'll see how it handles snowshoeing, iceskating and ski for hours in the winter.

Thin merino wool is warm enough for cool fall weather, but breathes enough to wear comfortably indoors at room temperature. The material does start to pile after a few months of wear, but it doesn't affect the functionality.

It's the kind of attire that says, "Hey, I'm serious about looking cozy, but also, I might be ready for a spontaneous snowball fight." Training? Absolutely. Whether you're lifting weights, sprinting, or just pretending to workout for the 'gram, the Alpine Onset Merino Quarter Zip's got your back. Not only does this marvel add warmth, it does it without making you look like you're smuggling a family of marshmallows under your shirt. Say goodbye to bulky layers and hello to sleek coziness. But wait, there's more! This quarter zip is the ultimate multitasker. It tackles your perspiration like a superhero tackling a villain, all while ensuring your body heat stays right where it belongs - with you. So, if you're searching for a garment that'll keep you snug, stylish, and sweat-free, the Men's Alpine Onset Merino Quarter Zip is the answer to your layered prayers. Just remember, you might end up needing a second one, because once your friends see it, they'll be green with zip-envy.

Good shirt for backcountry ski or for working. The 1/4 zip needs a hood tho! I have the old one that came with a hood a couple years back and it is my most prized possession. This iteration feels and appears to be more durable tho.I'm 5'10, 160lbs and M fits nicely.

I've used it on every outdoor cold climate activity and it works great to keep me warm even if I have a sweat going. Now, I need to say, in civilian life, when you're hiking and you start to sweat, you take a little break and take a layer off you body. But in the military where I come from, sometimes you don't have that luxury. This winter, I went on a winter warfare exercise and I had it on me the whole week. Some days, after patrols, we came back in our tents and I was drenched in sweat but it took not very long before It start to dry and keep me warm for the night. Very useful to have and I recommend to have a tight fit over a looser fit. It's my go to for cold weather all the way!

I bought this for my husband and its one of the most worn items in his closet. He has a really muscular build, so he is always looking for low-bulk layers and this is perfect. He likes that he can go directly from a zoom call (looks dressy enough on screen) to working outside (durable) to skiing (warmth under a ski jacket). He finds that he wears it most often as a mid-layer, but has worn it next to skin, as well. I am online buying him a few more in other colors right now!

I bought this top to replace a heavily loved and worn one by IBEX. It was a little heavier than the one it replace but I think that will add to the durability of the shirt. It fit me perfectly, I'm 6'4" and about 180 lbs. (I'm think) It wasn't like a tent like some large shirt are. Arms were long enough as well. The thumb holes at the ends of the sleeves were excellent for when my fingers were a little cold in my mitts. I plan on stocking up on these for my future skiing and National Ski Patrolling needs.

Thinner and not quite as soft as I expected, but still a great base layer. I wear it casually as well, love the color

Really like this as a lightweight merino base. I bought it online and thought it may have been a little heavier material so I bought the quarter zip. Once I got it I realized it's a little lighter than I had originally though so I probably didn't need to buy the quarter zip version. That's not a knock the product but just a heads up if you're buying it online without holding it in your hands first. Either way it won't disappoint.

I got this to replace a MEC merino wool fleece that finally tore to shreds after 10 years. This one's pretty burly, warm and breathes well. I wear it under a shell for winter biking in Toronto, but often find myself wearing it all day.
