Great upgrade into ultralight

I bought this as an upgrade from my Aurora 2P tent. This is more than half the weight, and a third of the size. Setup is a breeze, not having to use my trekking poles is also a plus. Super durable and spacious enough for 2 people!

Was looking for a perfect Semi-Free For Backpackin

I have many trekking pole tents but wanted something a bit more flexible to enjoy trips without a fly or with harder grounds. This is an amazing option for comfort while on trail and perfect for the overnight to long distance hiker to use!

Pure Quality for Any Type of Backpacker

Just back from a section hike on the AT. Simply an awesome product. Easy to set up, light weight, and great construction. I would recommend this for thru-hikers as well - light and durable as well as faster, more efficient set up than a trekking pole tent. Interior is spacious and airy. Great job Nemo! :-)

The perfect backpacking tent

Extremely easy to setup. Super light; even more so when splitting up between 2 people. High quality build.

Great Tent and Useful

This tent is really great for what it is going for. It is light, easy to pack, easy to set up, has a small footprint so it is easy to find a spot to set up, and still has room for you stuff either under the fly or inside with you. I bought this because the Nemo Dagger is a bit heavy when it is just me. I've seen people talk about the Hornet and after seeing that its weight is very light I went for the 1P because I already have the Nemo Dagger 2P. If you are bringing your spouse or child, then I would recommend the Nemo Dagger 2P over the Nemo Hornet 2P because I really enjoy the room the Dagger has. But this is why I went with the Hornet 1P, I wanted a good solo tent on the trail and this one seems to be the right one for me. Pros: *Easy to set up and easy to take down. Without the fly you only need four pegs, with fly you need six, and in stormy weather eight. *The vestibule is pretty roomy and it fit my pack, boots, camp shoes, and cooking ware. Only thing that got wet were the camp shoes because I didn't put them in all the way when I went for a bathroom break. *The lower pocket is big enough and close enough where you can fit your phone to watch tv/movies. This way you can be all cozy in your sleeping bag without your arms out. *It is semi standing which is great when finding a good spot. You can easily lift up the whole tent before pitching it to find the right area that isn't on a slope or rocks. *The tent is small but I still had a good bit of side room after putting in my standard sleeping air pad. I thought the pad was going to take up all the space but I was happy I was wrong. There is plenty of space on the foot area and even on the sides. *The tent does keep out water and the floor doesn't have any water "leaking" through. I saw some people with the elite version complaining about that issue, but this one with a thicker flooring doesn't have it. Cons: *It is hard to change your clothing inside the tent with how small it is. Nothing too bad but still a con for those that are taller then me (5'11). *The lower pocket hangs too low with anything in it. Because of that you might hit your head when raising after a nap on your stuff. *Zippers on the tent and fly feel not the best. The fly zipper keeps catching the string the pull the tent away to create more room on the inside. Makes it a struggle to open it and I do feel like I have to not be so fast as to not break it. The zipper on the tent is a C shape which does tent to require two hands. So far the zippers haven't gotten stuck on the fabric which is a plus. This is why the tent is only four stars. For the price I would say it is worth it because of the lighter weight, room that one person will need, and protection you will still have on the weather. Plus when you buy this tent you'll get the lifetime warranty and they'll fix up your issue without much of an issue. I've already experienced the warranty route on my Dagger and it is a very good deal if you're willing to wait a month for it to be completed. Not bad for me since I have multiple tents to use, but if this is your only tent then the wait might get to you.

The perfect 3-season, 1-person tent? Yes indeed.

Having done countless multiday hikes, I've used a ton of different tents, from UL to trekking pole tents, 2P, and all different brands. I have about a dozen tents in my gear closet. I'm 100% selling those and keeping the Hornet OSMO. Super simple set up, color coded piles, clips and even the stakes that come with it are awesome. In terms of weight, coming in at 1 pound and change, this falls into the ultra light catagonry, which oftentimes skimp on quality, but not the Nemo. Very well thought out features, including how small the tent poles fold making everything super simple to store in my pack. Highly recommend this tent for a 1-p. It's actually more like a 1.5 person tent, which means I can take my dog or store my backpack inside, which is another added feature. Don't think, don't compare, BUY IT.

The perfect 1 person ultralight tent

What a great user-friendly tent! Well thought out features. The toggle for keeping their fly door open is perfect, easy to do and undo. All in all, very pleased and would recommend. As a wilderness guide for the last 35 years, must say this is the best of the variety of tents I have owned. Just one recommendation would be the fly extend down top and bottom of tent a couple more inches.

Love this tent

I have really loved this tent so far on my Sky Island Traverse long route. I'm going up and down various mountain ranges and spending time in hot, hot desert and also chilly 7,000ft+ peaks. This tent is lightweight, incredibly easy to set up and break down. It's quick to pack up and it is free standing, which is important in the the terrains I'm dealing with. It also had epic headspace and does not feel like a claustrophobia nightmare we've all dealt with at some point in our adventurous lives. This tent has held up to some insane winds and I'm stoked to see how it handles the summer monsoons!

Such a great tent!

I am a guide and spend a lot of time in my tents. I bought the Hornet to lower my pack weight. I did not think I was going to enjoy it as much as I do, but I LOVE IT! Not only did I significantly lower my pack weight, I have more room than I thought I would. I am 6'2" so that says a lot! I love the light pocket, and the large vestibule that gives me room to store my pack!

So durable, compact, and lightweight!

I did a tremendous amount of research to help make a decision for purchasing a new light weight tent option for backpacking. I cannot believe how light and compact this tent is. The great thing is Nemo hasn't made any short cuts designing and building this tent. I ordered it along with the tent footprint and I am very happy with my decision.

Roomy as a solo tent, too tight for two people.

This is not a problem unique to Nemo, where 1 person UL tents are coffins, 2 person tents are great for one person, and the 3 person are good for two people, but have a large footprint. I also get that this is the lightest tent in the lineup, but the inside dimensions of the Dragonfly aren't really any different! So, if you are looking for a comfortable one-person tent and don't mind an extra few ounces in your pack in exchange for sleeping well, this tent is hard to beat. It's one of the lightest and best-designed semi-freestanding tents I've ever seen and used. It's awesome. I took it on an overnight with some experienced and fit hikers, and not only did we all get to camp at the same time, but I was set up and relaxing while they were still fiddling with their trekking pole tarps. So I highly recommend this tent to anyone who is not trying to go into what I call "stupid light" territory. However, my fleet now consists of the Hornet 1 (for keeping up with thru hikers and pitching with a smaller footprint) and a Dragonfly 3 for slackpacking with my spouse. My next hope is that Nemo comes out with a true 2-person UL tent that can fit two 25x78" pads without a ton of extra space, something like the Dagger, but comparable in weight to the Hornet 3. Maybe it's in the works!

Lightweight Tent that Packs Small

I've used this tent for a few trips since picking it up late last summer. I have the older version of the 1p Hornet but I really wanted to try the 2p out so I'd have a little more room. Unless you're super concerned about a few ounces, the 2p is the way to go even for solo trips. You could squeeze another adult in there with you but using it solo provides just enough extra room to be really comfy. The new rectangular shaped stuff sack and extra joints in the supports really help in packing this thing up as well. I used to lash the poles from my original 1p to the outside of my pack but the new version packs up so small I can fit it inside my pack. I really like having everything in my pack, especially hunting, so that was a really nice surprise when I got the new version. It's a great tent and I couldn't recommend it more!

Roomy 1 person!

After researching ultralight tension tents I settled on this tent and am super happy with my decision. My last Hornet 1 person I have had for 7 years and it still works great. The new OSMO fabric is awesome and super light. The tent poles are maybe 12" long, perfect for bike packing or tucking in the side pocket of your backpack. The inside would be snug for 2 people but totally doable as you each have your own door and vestibules. Awesome small details that have been upgrades since my previous tent. Excited to see where I sleep the next 7 years with this one!

Amazing Tent

I have the 3p tent and it's amazing. Nemo thought about it all when it came to this tent! It rained for 3 days and this tent stayed dry. Nemo knocked it out of the park with this tent! Also, super light

Does it get any better?

What more can be said? its the right weight, size and solid enough to keep you dry over night with out being to heavy to carry in your pack. 100% my first choice for solo nights out.

Perfect 3 season

Spent a few nights in the Hornet already. I love the set up/pack down, super intuitive and fast. It ventilates really well and has plenty of head room. the one night so far it has rained I had no issues with moisture coming in. Surprisingly light and compact for a non dyneema tent.

Great Tent!!!

If you are looking for a tent that is simple to setup and light weight, look no further. I was debating between a semi-free standing or a trekking pole tent. Ultimately I settled on the Nemo Hornet. It gives me the flexibility of being able to easily move the tent without fulling breaking down (like a free standing tent) but also gives me light weight benefits (similar to trekking pole tent). I really cant say anything negative about the tent.

Ultralite dream

This tent is so light and packs so small. I've made camp with sil tarps that are heavier. As a SAR tech it's small enough to haul around in a 24h ready pack.

Ease of Use and Weight are Unmatched

I bought this tent for a backpacking trip a while back, and it has been incredible. The weight is fantastic, and if I store the poles in my water bottle pocket, it packs down insanely small. I love how easy it is to setup. I was originally worried that it would be difficult to find a place to stake it out, but I have had zero problems with that thus far. Highly recommend!!

Plenty of room to bring Sammy dog

Got this slick little tent for solo adventures with my Sammy dog. It's light enough to carry solo and easily fits Sammy and I. This will be my go to tent when not using my Dragonfly with an extra two legged companion. Now if Nemo can figure out a solution to get dog hair out of your tent more easily.

Amazing Tent Technology

Love the smaller size for our needs. Have a Nemo 4-person, but wanted something smaller for my wife and I. I am always amazed how Nemo improves year to year. Makes me regret getting something because I know the next version will be a little better. And, no, I am not a paid reviewer, but I have a LOT of paid for Nemo camping stuff. It is all awesome.

Great for backpacking in the rain!

Used this tent for a 4 night thru hike of the Lost Coast Trail. The tent was light weight, easy to set up, and kept me and all of my gear dry during the rain! It has plenty of space for one person and small places to stash your gear. Excited to use this tent on summer trips!

Nemo OSMO Hornet 2p

I picked this tent up recently for backpacking and backcountry hunting trips. The packability, weight, and ease of setup makes this such an incredible upgrade from my previous 2p shelter. It is surprisingly roomy for a 2p tent and with the ability to set boots and other various items in the vestibule, it makes the inside of the tent seem even larger. I am very impressed with the Hornet and will be spending many more nights sleeping in comfort with nature.
