Permanent new home of my AT ski boots, helmet and goggles, socks - base - down - shell gear, expansion room to spare. Overbuilt and beautifully finished and reinforced inside & out, unlike a lot of others.

One of the best design with too many features. I am using it from past 6 months for car camping and going to taekwondo classes with my kids. Perfect usage. It's durable, stylish enough and light weight. I tried to use it in the back country camping and air travel. It is complicated for this purpose. The design of the zipper or the main closing/open area is not helpful to hold bulky weight. I struggled to pack and close the zipper with bulkier items. Hope they can make the mouth wider after zipped up.

I run outdoor programs where I bring my personal gear and program gear for participants. I needed a duffel large enough to hold all of my personal stuff and this does that wonderfully. I can fit my 2p tent, smaller sleeping pad, and down sleeping bag into this along with my clothes, toiletries, and small gear and it is easy to carry. When I want to indulge and bring my self-inflating car camping pad, I can snap the handles around it so that they are a unit. The inside zipper pocket is a little low to access when the bag is full, but it is large enough to hold lots of little things. The two top pockets that snap are fine for items with a little bulk -I find that stacks of stickers, cards, or even small notebooks tend to pop out of them regardless of how full the bag is. I think adding a zipper closure to one of them would make this bag even better, but I still like using it. I also have the 30L bag and have used that for short trips (in hotels) and big days out with the family.

I own a 30 L and 55 L double haul bags, the 55 is pictured. I also own and am comparing them to an original North Face base camp large 95 L, an even bigger original Patagonia black hole bag and newer basecamp medium 62 L. Where the double haul really shines is the stand up wide opening for loading, the convenience of a tote and it's versatility converting to a duffel/ backpack for use as a carry-on or long hauls. I really like that tote mode doubles the capacity. Being able to leave the zipper open, overstuff the bag with mountain bike or backcountry skiing gear, throw the straps over a shoulder and go. Zipper it up if you're feeling the fear of loosing your stuff. The tote straps fold neatly away into a hidden snapped compartment when not in use. If l'm traveling on a plane, what works best for me is to open the ends up to tote mode and load everything then fold the dopp kit style ends into duffle mode. I like the ridgid handles. They stay put and are easy to grab on the go no fiddling around required. They also allow the bag to be carried close to your hand rather than sagging on loose straps towards the ground. The padded backpack straps carry the bag comfortably. Although the ridgid handles that now rest against your back are definitely noticable but not a deal breaker. When not in use the backpack straps retract close to the bag, the adjuster webbing tails are easy to rethread back into their retracted position and snap out of the way. In duffle bag mode, ends folded and clipped down, you do have much more limited access through the zipper opening. I like the heavy duty zippers and big pulls. The outside storage pocket is nice, but I find that the inside pocket gets buried. Good for stuff you don't need easy access to but don't want the items disappearing into the void. The material feels robust, good for rough handling, long time service and the occasional drag across an airport. The materials are pliable and supported nicely by 6 vertical stay, one in each corner and one at either end. I like double hauls in the 2 smaller sizes l own. I would be concerned to go bigger. What l really like about the base camp and black hole bags are big grab handles on either end of the bags allowing you to grab and pull it out of a vehicle or carry the heavy loads sideways two handed. You can do this on the double haul by grabbing the end buckles and straps but it's not as comfortable. Overall these bags check a lot of boxes, are extremely utilitarian and we expect them to accompany us on many adventures for years to come.

The bag has three types of carrying straps: 1. Comfortable, supportive, cushioning back pack straps with adjustable length 2. Kind of uncomfortable, sturdy straps to go over your shoulder 3. Rigid supportive hand grips (black) to lift at your side The main problem is that 2 is a useless strap. For carrying any amount of weight it's more comfortable and efficient to just use the better backpack strap as a shoulder strap. Nemo can improve this bag by: 1. Removing the kind of useless tote style strap 2. Adjusting the backpack strap cushion length to make it better function as the tote style strap 3. Adding zippers to the pockets that hold the tote style strap and simply making them additional pockets instead of weird holders for the unnecessary straps. Those are my thoughts at least. Still enjoying the bag as an airplane carry on.

We recently took the dive and ordered the double haul 30L in a Hail Mary to de-complicate my family's chaotic work+kids+sports+food/sleep way of life. We were so impressed by the versatility and sheer VOLUME of stuff we could move comfortably and quickly. Because of that we ordered the 55L!!! This bag is now our official away tournament bag. It makes a perfect carry-all and straps down neatly enough for grown ups to take on work trips too. Thank you for putting so much thought into the little details!

I recently purchased the 55L duffle and am so impressed with the quality of the materials. The convertibility of this bag was key for me, as it can be used for so many things, work, travel, gym. The internal organization of pockets and dividers is excellent! Looking forward to using this bag a lot!

I bought this to haul gear for van camping weekends. I primarily pack clothing, a hygiene kit, and some books in the duffle. The 55-liter holds a lot, I use one bag for both myself and my 3-year-old stuff for a weekend outing. The material feels durable, I believe this will last for years to come, and so far been using it all summer. It's 4-stars for me as I find the interior space difficult to keep organized compared to a typical duffle bag style. I get this bag is designed differently to have multiple purposes, both duffle and tote style. However for me, when the sides of the bag are clipped down to be in "duffle mode", I lose small objects in the side area where the bag clips down. (tried to show that in the photo with the glove.) It leaves a little corner for stuff to disappear in. To remedy this, I use packing cubes to organize my clothes, headlamps, etc. Having loose clothing and small items in the bag doesn't work for me and my personal organization needs. That being said, it's a quality bag and the blue color is beautiful. I imagine we'll use it for years to come on many van camping adventures.

Originally bought the 55L and it became our go-to for climbing, picnics, camping, shopping, travel. So versatile and bomb-proof. Ended up buying a 100L one to grab and go for weekend camping trips. Both still look brand new after months of beatings.

I had been looking at this for awhile, I ordered it when I was home on the ranch in South Dakota and it arrived quick. It is carry on or check bag ready, I've checked it twice with eager anticipation. No noticeable damage and easily spotted. Tried to upload pics but wouldn't let me. Bag looks great

I have used this bag almost every single day since I've purchased it. It carries my equipment for work when I need a big bag. I open it up completely and it swallows anything I throw in it. When I go to the gym, zip and clip to make it a regular duffle. I took my kids on a trip to Florida for a few days and all of our clothes fit along with a pillow. I've gone camping and everything I needed for inside my tent fit right in there. I flew to Texas for a business trip and it swallowed everything I needed and I took it as a carry on!!! This bag does it all! I got rid of my old duffle bag and tote bag because this does all I need. I can't recommend it enough. I even got one for a friend of mine because I knew they would love it too. I cannot recommend this enough. I hope you enjoy your purchase and take your bag on so many adventures!

This bag has proven itself time and time again to be a bag that can do just about everything. It has travelled on airplanes, cruise ships, cars, and being drug around everything from picnics, soccer games, and at the campsite. I love the ability to close it off like a duffel to keep everything contained. I also really appreciate the tote bag setup, for when you just need to get everything in there and be on your way. Fully loaded, it was just a little too big for us to use it as a carry on, but I imagine if it wasn't fully loaded you could carry it on a plane. The only thing that isn't perfect is the backpack straps. I appreciate the ability to quickly carry these with the backpack straps, but for long hauls it's not the most comfortable. Again, can't really complain about that considering all that this bag is capable of. I hope that whoever designed this bag got a raise because it has changed the game when it comes to duffels! I do not see myself going back and am planning to pick up more in the different sizes!

I love this duffel bag so much. I've taken it on camping trips and airline trips and quick overnights, and it's just the most useful and versatile bag I've ever owned. It fit all the clothes I needed for a 2 week car camping trip, and withstood the weather when I left it outside in the rain! I don't believe the bag is fully waterproof but none of my belongings got wet. My favorite feature is actually the carrying case that can be used as an attached packing cube!! First of all, it is incredible to have a bag of this size pack down into a convenient little package for storage. Second of all, it's super useful to have an additional packing cube that doesn't slide around in the bag. I also love how easy it is to use the backpack straps when I'm walking through an airport, and how easy the bag stays open when I'm packing it. I'd buy all four colors if I could!

I bought this bag to haul camping gear for fishing trips at Texas coast. Love the looks of the bag and the shoulder straps. It's convenient that it coverts to a tote if I need extra room. I plan on getting the 100L now.

I bought this a few weeks ago to haul gear when car camping. It is made from really strong material and is the perfect size to fill and throw in the back of the car. Once at the camping site you can use the padded handles or turn it into a backpack using the built-in shoulder straps. It has great interior mesh pockets and a strong zipper. Looking forward to making this part of my regular camping trip equipment!

Love this bag! It's great to know I can fit everything in one bag and be able to comfortable carry it. I will get a few more smaller bags to put various small things so as to organize items on the inside better, I don't like digging for things. I probably could have gotten the smaller one as I have a hard time filling this one - but the locking it down as a duffle really helps with that. Definitely a bag I look forward to using for travel!

I originally bought this bag for airline travel and thought that converting it to a backpack would be great in the airport. It is great for that, but I use it for so much more now. My family and I take it to the beach. We take it on canoe trips and it has proved very water resistant. Love the versatility of this bag.

This is a great bag with some excellent innovations. It works wonderfully as a tote, and unlike my other totes, it has a very rugged, secure zipper with large, easy-to-grab zipper pulls. If I could only use this as a heavy-duty tote, I'd be thrilled with it. It also works well as a duffel, with an almost suitcase feel thanks to the rigid handles built into the bag rim. The backpack configuration is my least favorite: It's not very comfortable unless the duffel is stuffed totally full, because it sags. And the backpack straps seem well designed to stay out of the way, but they don't fully tuck away, so time will tell whether they annoy me while traveling. One tiny gripe is that the blue color looks darker in person than in the photos. But overall, the bag is solidly built with premium materials, and I expect it to survive many seasons of heavy use.

I bought this bag for my wife. No matter what size bag she uses to pack, it always ends up bursting at the seems. There is always something sticking out or hanging off the outside, never fails. It was time for a new plan. Enter the Double Haul. Pack it like a duffel and instead of squishing everything down and zipping it up, you open it all the way and top it off! This bag is great for car trips, camping, trips to the beach, and running around town. There always seems to be more room. Great bag and a home run for my family. Thank you Nemo for thinking outside the "bag".

I bought this bag over the summer to carry all of my clothes, gear, etc for car camping. It's perfect for that. I particularly love that I can pack sparingly with the bag in its smaller form, but then be lazy re-packing and leave it in tote mode. Even better is that it is large enough for me and my husband to put both of our things. One less bag to haul is great. The color is also fantastic (I got it in Chai). Love having color options other than black/blue/grey!

Bought this bag for my wife. Never seems to have enough room in her normal bags. Just what the doctor ordered. Not ideal for air travel, you don't get to fully utilize the tote function. Perfect for a car trip, camping, beach fun, and running around town. This bag works well for us!

I got the 55L Double Haul, and it DOES HAUL! We loved the extra features, to help organize our "new camping tote" The fabric is durable and super easy to clean, and best of all, the sides stay nice and upright and Square, so that you can easily organize this car-camping wonder, right in the back of the 4runner. Love love love. #backcountrygearhead

As someone who is loves my bags and definitely has way to many, this one has quickly become my new go to. I've found myself primarily using it in the tote mode which has been so convenient to throw my stuff in and go. Then when i need to stack or pack it, being able to zip it up and compress has been so handy. It's been the perfect size for every adventure!

This Duffle can do it all. We took it on vacation. We checked the bag and it was rugged enough to handle the airport handling. The backpacking straps were great for freeing up my hands for other tasks. The coolest part is the rigid sides that can be left up to create a tote that we took all our beach items in. This bag is awesome.

I recently picked up the Nemo Double Haul Convertible Duffel 55L, and after putting it through its paces, I'm really happy with how it performs. Here's my breakdown after a few trips: Versatility: The standout feature for me is that it's a convertible duffel. You can carry it as a standard duffel with the side handles or throw it on like a backpack with the shoulder straps. I've used both options, and it's nice to have that flexibility, especially when my hands are full or I need to walk long distances. Durability: The build quality is impressive. The materials feel rugged and water-resistant, which gives me confidence when using it outdoors or in unpredictable weather. The zippers are beefy, and I didn't worry about them breaking, even when the bag was packed full. Organization: The bag has a few thoughtful pockets. There's a large, easy-access front pocket for quick-grab items, which is perfect for things like a rain jacket, passport, or snacks. Inside, there's a divider that lets you separate gear, making it easier to stay organized. I find this especially useful when I'm packing shoes or dirty clothes that I want to keep separate from the rest of my stuff. Size: The 55L capacity is ideal for extended weekends or shorter trips. I've been able to fit clothes, gear, and some camping essentials for multi-day adventures, but it's not so big that I'm lugging around unnecessary space. Weight When Full: While the bag is designed to be comfortable as a backpack, I did notice it can get a bit heavy and awkward when fully loaded, especially if it's not packed evenly. The padding helps, but I wouldn't want to wear it as a backpack for extended periods of time. It's great for short stints, though. Backpack Straps: The backpack straps, while useful, aren't as comfortable as dedicated travel backpacks. They work for convenience, but I wouldn't use them for anything beyond moderate walks. Overall, the Nemo Double Haul Convertible Duffel 55L is a solid travel companion. The durability, design, and flexibility make it perfect for a variety of adventures, whether it's a road trip, camping, or quick getaways. It's a great choice if you need a bag that can handle different carrying styles and has enough space for essential gear without being too bulky. Just be mindful of how much weight you're loading into it if you plan on using the backpack straps frequently.

This thing is tops. The ability to change to suit the occasion is matched by complete durability. Gotta be honest the size this bag provides is overwhelming. Bought a same liter size as a previously owned competitor brand and the Nemo bag puts it to shame. It's a true black hole. You flat out can just keep putting stuff in it. Beautifully done Nemo team.

I've been using the Double Haul Convertible Duffel (55L) for several weeks now and absolutely love it! Great build quality with creative features. Comfortable to carry using the shoulder straps but I've been primarily using it as a giant tote for bicycling gear and clothes.
