I've had the long version of bag for 5 years. It is warm to the rating if you use it correctly by closing it up tightly near your head to trap the heat in. I also find that stuffing my sweaters and puffy coats inside of it around and above me as extra blankets (sort of) definitely helps with warmth. My number one issue with this bag is that it is VERY VERY BULKY. The men's version of this bag, which my husband has, packs down nice and small, making it great for backpacking. Unfortunately, the women's bag has a lot more filling in it and takes up the space of almost my entire pack when I go backpacking. It has helped me to get a different stuff sack. The one it comes with, which is wide and only has 3 straps instead of the standard 4, doesn't work great. I found one that is a lot taller and narrower, with 4 straps, and I can get the bag down to almost half of the volume that is possible with the stuff sack this bag comes with, although it does take a lot of work. Honestly would not recommend this bag if you will be using it for backpacking. Pros: - inside stays dry when outside gets damp - warm - durable (have used it > 100 times, and it's still great) Cons: - bulky - mediocre stuff-sack

This think has plenty of room in it and keeps me warm. I probably wouldn't be warm enough in 29 degrees, but it keeps me plenty enough warm on fall camping trips

As described, it is very light and packable for a synthetic (chosen for standing up to dampness and wet conditions better without deteriorating), and the cost! Looking forward to using it well this fall in TN

Purchased this for my daughter who has spent the last 4 summers canoe camping in Ontario. Last year she said she was cold at night so we sent it back to North Face and received a new one. Not sure if it actually lost its warmth or not, but NF replaced it no questions asked.

Great bag at a great price. Only complaint, it doesn't pak down very small.

This iconic 20-degree bag for three seasons of use on mountaineering expeditions got a fabric upgrade to make it lighter and 10% more compressible. With the help of a fitted hood and draft collar, the Cyclone design maximizes warmth, wrapping the Heatseeker Guide insulation evenly around the bag.
