Incredible backpacking stove. Light weight, efficient, easy to set up even in cold, rain and sleet. Big fan of Cascade brands.

So far, so good. Prefer to jet boil flash

Minimal use, but so far so good. Definitely faster than my jet boil flash and the two cheapy amazon jet boil clones I own. And far, far better in the wind. Sits a bit tall. Opted for the personal stove vs duo since I'm normally solo. But...wish the 1.8L pot was a cheaper price to own for the occasional times I'd use it. Suggested improvements that would have brought it to a 5 star review: An integrate piezo sparker. A slightly more sturdier, thicker walled cup/bowl with an insulating coozy (made my own coozy). A shorter overall height if there's a possibility to shrink it down. Same volume container, but flatter and wider to fit in a bigger fuel cannister for longer trips.

Positive Test

I've only tested it in the yard. Wow, it really does boil fast. I love the fact that I can safely handle it immediately after boil.

Love this stove

The wind block collar adds a bit to the weight but is more than worth it. Works great on windy nights. Best stove I've ever had. Cup locks into place so it's stable and heats up very fast. Heats 1 cup of water for me with 100 g fuel so I get 10-13 meals from one small cannister.

So fast!

This stove boils water in about half the time of its well known competitor! On my latest SAR/MRT snow and ice training everyone was borrowing it instead of using their own.

6+ stars!

This burner is absolute Best-In-The-World! I can light the fire in all weather, from summer to deep winter. Just a kindly wish from here: Make it a little lighter, and no system will be able to compete with this burner!

Wind burner personal stove

I love this compact easy to operate stove. I used it on a recent canoe trip and was impressed at the speed I could boil water. I did have a water filter breakdown and had to rely on the stove for boiling water and the unit was effective as well as efficient to use. It's a very smart design easy to set up, stable and easy to light. The wire helps knowing that the unit is lit on startup.

Great System with only Minor Flaws

A great 3-season backcountry stove overall. The lid fitment requires a little extra persuasion most of the time. Additionally, the outside of the burner area will corrode if there is any moisture on the fuel canister when repacked on the trail (picture is after cumulative 30 days of use over 3 months).

Great system until it isn't

I have thoroughly enjoyed my windburner kit. And has traveled with me all across the country. However, it's stopped working for reasons unknown, and unlike a lot of other MSR stoves, there is no maintenance kit for this that I can find.

This stove is super reliable and kicks butt when you need it to, I mostly use it to melt snow for water and it does an awesome job at that even when it gets a little wet or dirty! One of my favorite pieces of equipment

I had a 10-year reactor

I had a 10-year reactor that finally quit working and replaced it with this stove. It is not as fast as the reactor on boiling water. I have used it twice on two different outings and it has worked GREAT!

The MSR Wind Burner is

The MSR Wind Burner is a true outdoor cooking station with the ability to simmer foods and actually prepare a meal in the outdoors. Its closest competition is the Jetboil MiniMo and i prefer the features and reliability of the Wind Burner for many reasons. The unit is well engineered, bombproof and performs well beyond my expectations. As it is an MSR product, I expect years of reliable performance and delicious meals in the great outdoors.

The wind burner is legit!

Constructed beautifully. Compacts down into a small self contained packable unit. Boils significantly faster than my camp chef and jetboil. It does appear to be top quality. The only thing I'd change is for it to have an ignitor switch. Other than that, it's nearly perfect.

Absolute best stove

Just returned from a trip in the Olympic National Forest. I let my neice use this stove while used my old Simmerlite. While I love my dependable Simmerlite, this is leaps and bounds a better system. Boil rate is lighting fast and The simple design and use of the pot is incredible. Great setup, thank you! Now all I need is to get it back from her.??

Wonderful, reliable gear

Great system, heats up water in seconds, would recommend to anyone who is looking for a safe and reliable way to heat water. Brings a huge amount of ease when camping. Great quality and workmanship I fully expect it to be the last stove I buy. Unit works great with the French press add on. Haven?t had a chance to try it in the snow but worked very well in colder climates with higher elevations.

Amazing, scary fast boil times!

I switched to the Windburner after a few bad runs with other similar stove systems. I've used it on ten or so trips in both the front and backcountry so far, and it's amazing. The boil time is so fast, I didn't even have time to finish taking a leak before I heard it bubbling! 10/10 would recommend.

Works, but has quirks

Excellent construction of the metal components. The downfall of the product is in the plastic components. When packed the cup tension tabs will occasionally push past the metal lips of the mounting bracket, creating quite a struggle match to remove it. The lid also just doesn't fit correctly. I know it goes on only one way, but to have a lid that doesn't seat flush on the top all the way around is unacceptable for a stove at this price point (reached out to MSR for support to resolve with no response). Although there are quirks, the stove is functionally bulletproof and absolutely works.
