Best stove I've ever owned. The Whisperlite International is the best blend of weight, fuel options, pot size it will hold and ease of maintenance and repair. (If needed which in my experience is very very rare) I've never rebuilt the pump and only changed a few seals as needed. Will continue to buy and use MSR stoves and outdoor gear!

bought my Wisperlite in 1990 as a Venturer (senior scout), and it's been hiking and snow touring with me ever since. I'm now a scout leader, and my stove is about to turn 35. I've changed the O-rings once. This model was pre-shaker jet cleaner, but as long as it's regularly cleaned, has no issues. Brilliant stove.

I have owned my one an only Wisperlite Stove for over 30 years. It is an amazing stove and has NEVER let me down. One of the best features of this type of stove is when using it in the winter, you can continue to pressurize the fuel bottle to keep the stove running. Would by again but don't need to because this one still works like new.

As a guide in Algonquin, Himalaya, Antarctica,Baffin Island and more MSR stoves have always been my go to stove. The WhisperLite is so easy to use, versatile, and reliable. If you are out for the weekend or 50 days you can count on this stove.

I use the whisperlite in winter for its reliability. Perfect for melting snow with a 2L pot. In summer and fall I prefer the ease of use of a canister stove with the pocket rocket.

After a January camping trip in NH, where temps dropped to 5 deg. F, and I couldn't get my MSR Pocketrocket to work, I purchased this lifesaver. Used it in February, again in NH, and will forever more carry my WhisperLite in the deep winter.

Tried and true, it's obvious why the whisperlite remains the top expedition stove. Although it's quite different than the canister stoves, it was very easy to learn and get used to. Boiled a liter of water relatively quickly below freezing temps. Very excited to continue using the stove throughout the winter. I definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys winter fun like I do.

I have used this stove above 12,000 feet and on boats all over. I have travelled to other countries with it. Every place and every time it's been reliable and works great.

Great little stove, light weight, lights easily. The only negative is the lack of ability to simmer, and every time you light it the underside is covered with black messy soot.

This is a great light stove for anyone looking to get a durable backpacking stove. It can be a little hard to prime if you are not used to a Whisperlite. If you use MSR's Superfuel there is still a bunch of Soot when priming. The stove burns hot... Super hot...... Don't expect to simmer and do amazing meals unless you are used to this stove.

I prefer the basic Whisperlite model because it seems to preheat faster than the international model. If I plan on using fuel other than white gas I have an International. Get one while they are still making them.
