I have only used this hanging kit under ideal conditions .It hangs the MSR stove system securely off the ground as intended. It does takes some technique to maneuver the pot in and out; especially when it is hot. The biggest negative was the wires heating up and starting to melt the neoprene insulation on the pot. I think I'll wrap some aluminum tape around it to remediate this problem when I use it again. Otherwise it works well in those situations were the stoves gotta hang.

The hanging system works okay. However the wires melt the insulation around the cup and there is no easy way to remove the insulation to prevent this.

Before attaching this and running your stove, remove the insulator from windburner cup. You can use a separate pot handle to pour from the cup but using this with the insulator on WILL burn it.

Pro: boils fast, wind resistant, lightweight Co: cook freeze dried meal in container, no simmer.

Love MSR gear so chose the Windburner over Jetboil. Just received it in the mail, but have a problem: I can't seem to remove the cup. It looks like it is on slightly crooked, with half of the rim being under the cozy. If I put some serious elbow grease into it, I can turn it about a quarter of an inch, but I can't seem to remove it. Afraid I'm going to break it if I apply any more pressure. Is the cozy supposed to come off first? It doesn't appear to have enough of a diameter to be removed before the cup. How can I get the clear plastic cup off? Note-giving this a 5-star rating for now because a rating is required and I suspect I'll love this once I get it working, but will have to wait to test it before those 5 stars are actually earned.

I bought this along with the 1.8lt windburner system - it packs down brilliantly and worked at 9000' in the wind.

Love the windburner, super smart design and efficient while cooling off quick after use to repack. I've used the windburner in wind, drizzle, snow, & in my car on a pinch and it hasn't disappointed

The system is great in terms of maintaining a steady flow of heat in the windiest of conditions. Boils water in now time. Weight for backpacking is quite reasonable. Just wish support would respond to my request to order another strainer lid since my last one blew away in the wind at Joshua Tree. I'm probably not the only person interested in various replacement parts.

Great addition to an already great cooking system. Plan on using this for my elk hunt after it performed flawlessly in cold temps during the whitetail season.

I'm generally a sucker for smart, functional gear. I love how the WindBurner packs together and even more that I can have a quick, cup of coffee at camp! I'll always carry the extra weight bc warm food/drink cannot be beat when you're exhausted from the trek and rain squashes your campfire dreams. love, love, love!

Worked as expected in windy and non windy weather. Heats water to boiling in minutes. Another great product by MSR.

Heats really quickly, it's practical with its accessories. Easy to clean. Only negative, the outside sleeve some times doesn't latch properly and can slide down during use. Ends up a bit melted, just have to keep an eye on it.

I have used this stove for about 6 months, including a week-long bike camping tour in Colorado. I'm not sure if it is just something wrong with my particular unit, but it's been extremely finnicky to light. The fuel flow to the burner will just turn to a trickle and become unlightable for some reason. I have to jiggle it for a few minutes and keep retrying til the flow turns up enough to support the flame. This might take 10 minutes. This happens at temps well above freezing with no wind, when the stove is cold. In temps below freezing, the problem gets worse and worse.

Great for any sort of solo or duo camping/backpacking/alpine adventures. Super easy to use, packs together nicely, and I think it even boils water faster than my jetboil. Plus I know it won't get blow out in bad weather.

Great stove. Light weight and reasonably compact. It works great in all kinds of weather and is extremely efficient. Based on the manufacturing quality and design, I know I won't need to buy another for several years, but certainly would if the need arises.

MSR windburner system is amazing. 1 litre size is more than enough for solo traveller, but.... I really hope that in the future there will be a skillet addaped for this as I would be willing to ger it without buyingadditional system.

I have owned this system for roughly 5 years. I am still really impressed with it, it is great on fuel and I've used it on the top of mountains in high winds to boiling water in minutes for a large group at music festivals. It has handled every situation with ease. I would highly recommend it.

Greast addition to the WindBurner when I require larger volume of water/food.

I am not the type of hiker to complicate my food when on the mountain: I prefer to take some dry food and heat/wet it when I am ready to eat. To this end, the Wind Burner serves my needs perfectly and I do not enter the mountains without it. It's efficacy with fuel is also greatly appreciated.

I bought this 1.0L accessory pot to use with my Windburner Duo stove system. This works out great when I have multiple people with me I use the 1.8L Pot and when Im alone I take the 1.0L pot with my system. The 1.0L pot fits a 4oz fuel canister, stove and lighter perfectly in it. The 1.8L Pot will fit a 8oz canister along with stove and lighter just right.

My go to stove for when I need a stove to work in less than ideal conditions. This thing just WORKS when its cold, windy, wet, you name it. I don't always bring this stove. But sometimes your life depends on a stove (ie melting snow for water) and then you better bet I'm bringing my WindBurner.

I used this stove on a week long trek ranging in elevations over 8,000 feet and temperatures down to the single digits. The performance in the cold temperature was exceptional and didn't have any effect to the stoves output using butane canister fuel.

Great product, boils water faster that other products in the same category. Seems very reliable and well built. I wish it had a built in lighter (spark) like the competition.

I started using this stove months ago and can't believe how easy it is to assemble and how quickly it works. I love how all of the pieces pack together for backpacking and would definitely take this stove on any overnight trip!
I would buy this product again!

Amazing stove. I bought the windburner to replace my dragonfly liquid fuel stove for when I go bike-packing. Travels light and saves space. It setups fast, boils water fast and packs up fast! Perfect for a quick cup of tea on the go and cooking 1 pot meals at the end of the day.
The last thing you need to fiddle with when climbing, mountaineering, ski touring, or snowshoeing is your cooking system. The MSR WindBurner Hanging Kit allows you to conveniently hang your WindBoiler personal stove system from a lightweight and durable cable system. The WindBoiler Hanging Kit supports the stove base and features a sliding tensioner that secures your WindBurner pot, yet still allows you full access to your cooking system.
