On one of our backpacking fishing trips, my dad complained that we didn't have a skillet to cook the fish we caught. So, I got this skillet, we caught fish, and then it came time to perform. My dad asked me if it was non-stick, because we did pack in any oil to cook on. I said it was ceramic and non-stick. Sure enough, it was. It performed the task that my father asked it to do perfectly. It could the fish, and we had some delicious trout to eat. We then collapsed the handle, put in our pack, and packed it out. Could ask for any more than that of it.

This is nice, fine to cook with. However, an option to have a lid that is made for it would make some cooking instances better. There is no lid option.

Works well. Heats up fast but heat is not uniform in the pan but centred. Coating is holding up well. Would definitely recommend it.

Amazing non stick coating, the heat distribution is very good overall it packs up very well the handle an spatula accessory inside the pan. Nice and light. Would really like to have a flat cover option to keep food warm. Great skillet!

I have owned this pan since the ceramic model became available, it still looks new to this day. The non coating is good quality, my pan has a scuff from a rough item in bag, but that doesn't effect the non stick, have yet to have anything stick in this pan, cheese even!. The pan makes the stove a fuel sipper, I have no complaints about the pan or msr.

As one of the other person mentioned, the pan is uneven. Liquid/oil runs toward the edges. Heat is not distributed across the entire pan, many times my pan is burned in the center and cold around the outside. Non-stick coating wear off very quick. You can put a lot more oil on and adjust the temp lower, but it's a disappointment considering how great the windburner pot is

Works great and it is so lightweight. I cooked a steak using this pan while on a backpacking trip and it was perfect! Easily cleaned too. Highly recommended accessory if you have the windburner stove system

Worked great. Used it to cook eggs and pancakes, heat up burger patties, and make Mac n cheese while backpacking. Sits snugly on my personal windburner Stove.

This skillet works very well and does not stick even when cooking a dish with melted cheese. Fried eggs come out perfectly. The only thing that is slightly on the downside is that the bottom of the skillet is not exactly flat and runny foods tend to migrate to the sides. If it had to be non-flat, it would be better to migrate towards the center where the heat is most concentrated. This issue is due to the skillet being light weight And the ring being welded on the bottom

Used constantly on 850-mile solo run across TX and will use on upcoming 2800 mi solo run across USA Spring 2020. I'm Type 1 diabetic so food is a really big deal. I can't get by on gels and junk like a lot of non-T1D runners and my route goes for days through areas with no restaurants, no grocery stores, etc. At first, we cursed this skillet and would have given it less than 1 star. I thought the non-stick was totally dysfunctional like some of the other reviewers. Altho it didn't really make sense to me that MSR would claim non-stick if it wasn't legit. But, we were highly motivated to make the skillet work because otherwise the MSR windburner system is exactly right for our setup. Did some research. Bottom-line, we were doing three things wrong. First, we had used non-stick spray a few times even tho they tell you not to (maybe if they said WHY it's a bad idea it would help?). Turns out that stuff in the spray (not the oil, stuff like lecithin) burns at lower temps than oil, which puts a microscopically gunky layer between your food and the pan's surface. Second problem, we needed to turn flame down some. We're always reluctant to do that because if we can't hear it we worry that the flame's not still on, and we've cooked in 40+ mph gusts which can be fairly noisy. Third problem, never seasoned it with oil after cooking, like we do with cast iron pans at home. So we boiled 1 c water, 2 T baking soda, 1/2 c plain white vinegar in it to help clean the microscopic gunk left by the spray off it. Then we did a few cycles where we seasoned it by rubbing a little peanut oil (high smokepoint) on it and letting it sit over a low burner for a few minutes. Have cooked several times in it since then and it is perfectly non-stick now. Happy to say no hesitation in giving 5-star review at this point.

Wow. We have a Windburner Duo and added this pan for a recent 4-day backpacking trip with our kids. We made scrambled (rehydrated) eggs, as well as pancakes, and the pan performed flawlessly. Paired with the stove it had a remarkable amount of temperature control, especially on the low end, which is rare for lightweight kit. I can only assume that people who had issues with this pan must have over-fired it. In our experience, both eggs and pancakes cooked up perfectly with super-simple cleanup. Pro tip: pack ghee for backpacking trips in lieu of butter/oil. A little goes a long way and aids in the non-stock performance. Don't over-fire it, use proper lube and it should get the job done splendidly.

Great companion to stove for times when like to cook bacon, eggs, etc.

works great - very fuel efficient - cooks evenly - nice size and weight - only thing I would improve is to make the handle removable (as it is, with it folded in you can't store much in the pn, so it takes up a considerable amount of unused space in a pack)

Gave it only 4 due to not locking into the stove as the pot does. Although maybe that is a safety thing? Not sure.

I love that this attaches directly to the stove unit, as opposed to other brands (cough cough, JB) that require an additional piece to attach a skillet. It really makes this so much more versatile as a camping stove.

I was just dreaming up a way to connect a lightweight frying pan to my 1liter MSR Windboiler stove.

I have both the quick skillet and the windburned skillet. I like how the Windburner Skillet discipates the heat evenly and of course the fitment of my Windburner stove. But... I would like to see a lid or even a non-stick version. Typically, I heat up some salt - rub it in after it cools and that does the trick - if you don't eggs will stick - especially powdered. But veggies, boiling all kinds of other activities work great - it's a great complimentary product to the Wind Burner stove. I also would like to see a version with a lip or a bent spout to pour water out. Little features like that would make this an even better product.

This skillet is incredible! It's very durable, lightweight and dependable. This skillet gives you more options for food while backpacking. The handle is detachable and really makes it easy and convenient to pack.

Great little skillet. I decided on this vs the Jetboil system and frying pan because of the negative reviews about the stickiness of the Jetboil pan. This skillet had no reviews anywhere comparing it to Jetboil so I gave it a try. It fits right over the Windburner ""burner"". It is not non-stick, but when I used cooking spray it worked great. Made scrambled eggs and eggs over medium. Others have commented on the inability of the Windburner to simmer, which was a concern with buying this skillet. I was able to turn down the stove enough to cook the eggs evenly and without burning anything. Great addition to the Windburner. Would give 5 stars if it was non-stick, but that would probably make it less durable. Looking forward to seeing what else this can handle.
