MSR Habitude 6 Family & Group Camping Tent

I bought my tent in June of 2023 since then I have used the tent in miserable freezing rain, hot summer heat and freezing cold temperatures where we had to really bet the stakes in. The stakes held up well and the tent has never made me regret my purchase. I become more impressed with the quality every time it's setup. In the past thirty years of camping in various tents I know I have the best possible tent I could find.

The Habitude 6 tent is a fantastic piece of equipment. We initially bought the tent to fit our family of four and then quickly found out. It was going to be a family of 5 plus a dog. The tent has ample room for all people. Set up was quite easy with two people. The first night we used the tent, we had a classic Colorado thunderstorm roll through and the tent kept us dry the entire night despite the torrential rains. Highly recommend for anyone needing a solid tent with plenty of space.

Easy to set up light weight I would recommend this tent across the board. It nice to be able to stand up as well while we only experienced a small amount of rain on our family trip it kept us dry we will give it a rest next summer. With that said good night and sleep well in your own habitat

This tent is incredible. I like that it's more heavy duty than your average tent. I have had it in big windy storms and snow and it's never let me down. The interior pockets are really handy. I highly recommend this tent.

I love everything about this tent. I would purchase at least four more stakes for the rain fly. My only suggestion is a different color for the rain fly. The blue heats up fast and turns the tent into a sweat lodge.

It's very big and very nice. The design pitches easily and it appears it will be a good addition to my kit. I have not used it yet on any trips. That will change soon as my program transitions from trout streams to smallmouth rivers and camping.

We have had this tent a year now and used it with 2 adults and 1 child. Started with them in the porta cot and now they have their own mattress. The tent pitches easy, the head room is great and we haven't had any moisture issues. The second time we used the tent, we were pitched on sand and had the entire tent topple over in a freak wind gust (tent was full of gear and it still moved). The lesson learnt was to ensure the fly is velcroed onto the poles at all the locations as I hadn't noticed this until after. My tent fly got some minor rips from this but have aqua seeled them up (cant beat mother nature sometimes). Saying this, id put this tent up anywhere and just ensure you have the right stakes for the ground conditions. We use a separate ground sheet (not MSR) and this extends into the vestibule which is great for keeping the dirt and sand out of the tent. Id highly recommend this, as I would with my Hubba Hubba NX and my still trust MSR Fury that has never let me down.

This is an absolute awesome product we pitched it first time in the dark ever took us less than 8 to 10 minutes to put it up was super stable in mega high winds in the late Street. Then we pitched it later with the family would for children sleeping inside, lots of space lots of space gear I burly survived them. Can't recommend this product enough to see MSR do some expansion stuff for adventures families

I got my two weeks ago and set it up in the back yard to see what I had. It took me a few minutes longer than it probably should have but I got it up. It is a beautiful piece of kit, well thought out excellent materials. After I took it down and put it in the bag where it fit easily I became more impressed. The next week I set it up at camp for a week. I'm six foot two and had excellent head room, the door height and width made getting me and my gear in and out easy. Overall the tent worked beautifully. I am seventy and have so mobility issues so being able to setup a cot and have a chair was nice. Overall an excellent product.

I have a few tents from MSR and this one is my favourite for any kind of leisure camping with family and friends. You can set it up easily and also stand inside without any problem, even if you are a tall person. The 6 person is comfortable for 4 adults and 2 kids with plenty of space inside for your bags plus the protective extra space you have for your boots and other gear. Overall this is one of the best light and portable family tents I have ever had. Highly recommend it for a family of 4 who love outdoor adventures!

We bought this tent for use with our family of 5. The light weight and ability to split in to several individual parts is great and really opens up options for hiking/cycling/camping as a family. We've had some great trips using it! The tent has a 'square' back (May be weight saving measure) but therefore need's carefully pitched with the front facing the wind direction. My other gripe was that insufficient guy lines and pegs had been supplied for all the guy fixing points- I had to buy more, which was disappointing . for a tent at this price point! Also bought a ground sheet to protect the base, although this could be ditched on longer hikes. All in though a tent were really enjoying using.

This tent is very easy to set up and very sturdy! Very well built and great ventilation. The amount of mesh is perfect for viewing the scenery. This tent will last years with this fabric. Very high-quality! We did use the universal footprint. I feel like that is a great addition and adds more durability. Very high marks!

We bought this as a family car packing tent over getting another bulky and heavy Zempire tent. The weight, size and ease of use had us sold. We have used it to travel around the South Island of New Zealand for 3 weeks, moving every few days. Its so easy to put up and down and has plenty of space for the 4 of us with room for gear inside or in the vestibule. It stood up to some rain and wind on another trip in more recent weeks with ease. Only let down (and why it's not 5 stars) is the number of pegs that come with the tent don't quite match up to what you need - a few more grams for a few more pegs would be a sacrifice I'd make MSR peeps. Still its a great tent if you are looking for something spacious, easy to use and light for family trips (for it's size)

We bought this tent in spring this year and so far we have spent around 20 nights in it, we are a family of five with two dogs, the tent is fantastic, quick and easy to set up with a huge amount of space, it feels like the TARDIS from Dr Who "bigger on the inside".

I was recently given this tent by MSR to use and review and so far, we've been out in it twice and it's been absolutely amazing. We are used to tenting in our MSR Hubba Hubba (2 person backpacking tent), so to have a tent this size was such a luxury. We slept two adults, 1 8 month old baby, and 2 30ish lb dogs and had so much room. It was so nice to be able to completely stand up inside (makes it easy to stand and rock that baby to sleep)! There was enough room that if we wanted to bring her pack and play along, we could. Or even bring a dog kennel or two if you needed to! I look forward to using this tent for years and years to come. 10/10 recommend for family camping!

I was sent this product to test and review it, and it has been a long time since I have slept in a tent this large! I most often camp with my Hubba Hubba (2p) or Mutha Hubba (3p) tents dependent on the circumstances. However, I will say -- the last time I used a tent this big it was a struggle to figure out, but not the Habitude! I was pleasantly surprised how simple and easy the set up is - the poles and snap ons on the tent are color coded and it was a breeze! When you finally arrive at camp the last thing you want to wrestle with is setting up a complicated tent. There was tons of room inside, you can fully stand up, and we comfortably slept 4 adults with plenty of space for our belongings inside the tent, and outside under the vestibule. I do wish there was a second door (I'm so used to 2!) to easily pop out one side without having to climb over multiple people, and additional ventilation for when you have to have the door closed. It was raining and quite warm outside, some additional vents would have been nice. I look forward to using this tent in the future for front country camping!

I was given this product by MSR to test and review it for front country camping. It was my first time personally using a tent over the size of 3person. I found the Habitude6 to be very easy and straight forward to set up. The overall size-to-weight ratio is surprisingly good from what you would expect from such a large tent. It is the normal great quality fabric, durability, and usage that you would expect from MSR. I loved the color of the rainfly. It was wonderful how much nylon there was up on the sides, versus mesh. This allowed for more privacy on the sides, especially in the front country or campground scene where you might want it. Being able to stand up (all 6ft of me) in the tent was such a luxury! My only qualm with the overall use of this tent was the ventilation. There was only one vent in the back, opposite of the door. Putting more than a few warm bodies in there made it rather warm. If they put one or two more vents in the side, I would think this tent would vastly improve how well it breathed. Otherwise, all in all, very impressed with the quality of this product!

My wife and I have used this tent several times now and are pretty pleased with it. It has done a great job at keeping the rain out since the fly covers the entire thing to the ground. There is only two complaints that I have about it... 1. There is only one small ventilation window in the back of the tent and nothing to open up during the day to let all that heat out without folding the entire rain fly backwards. 2. The vestibule area is more of a pain that we thought it would be. Our camping friends have the REI Kindom 6 and Northface Wawona 6 and both of those have a vestibule or "garage" that you can stand up in. If something could be designed to work with the tent in that same way, it would make this tent that much better. Buying this was a rushed purchased and at this point, I probably would have waited for something else to come in stock that has the features I discussed above.
