Clean, smart design; easy to use handle, great for for my roof top tent camping kit and light enough to use for backpacking. MSR has been a top brand for me since 1994. Still using gear from 30 years ago. Highly recommend.

Great set for both backpacking and car camping. I like being able to easily swap out the handle between the two pots. Easily packs up within itself for transport and storage.

This set is one of the very first set of items I bought over ten years ago since I started hiking/camping and yet still being used regularly. It is not perfect, the red plastic ring around the lid handle plastic broke years ago but the lid lift handle itself remains. The bottom of the main pot bumped up a bit but that is acceptable since it is a lightweight design. Everything else are going great. The Talon handle is perfectly rigid and foldable. I recently bought a MSR water kettle and it fits perfectly inside the cook set with the insulated cups removed. I highly recommend this product and would be very happy if I can get a piece of the broken red plastic ring replaced.

Great little set. Perhaps a bit large for backpacking/mountaineering expeditions, but perfectly suited for car camping or basecamps. The one lid that comes with the set nestles nicely on top of both the small and large pot which is nice. Overall a great product.

Very good for intended use, but would be great if there was a lid for the 1.3L pot so it can be used separately, or if the lids were sold separately like some competitors offer. Also, if the pots were a little taller so the 1.3L could fit a 100g gas canister, and the 2.5L could fit a 200g gas canister. After paying for this set, I'm looking for something else for solo trips. Very unfortunate.

I use this kit backcountry skiing and backpacking, with either my MSR Dragonfly or Pocket Rocket. It works great for two or three folks on the trail. I have never have found use for the bowls that are included in the kit. I prefer to take a separate bowl with a lid that I can re-hydrate dried food in or put the lid on to keep food warm while I prepare the rest of the meal. The mugs are useful and nest well. The major improvement that could be made to this kit would be to provide a handle and lid that will pack well with just the small pot. This addition would make this a great kit, with the flexibility to be used as a solo kit. It disappoints me that MSR has chosen instead only offer a separate kit for solo hiking.

Not a review one huh? We use this for our backpacking, raft, & canoe trips, sometimes the whole kit, but usually just what we need. I mean who needs to wash plates, me and my wife are not so domesticated. We eat and cook out of the little pot, and use the big pot only on long trips where one might want to have a "bath", we are boiling instead of filtering, or if the river is doing the carrying. I love the mugs, they keep coffee hot, almost undrinkable for the first 20 minutes from boil, the lids don't seal as well as they used to, but these things have hundreds of miles being crammed in a pack. The little pot is about as non stick as you could make it, even after all this use. It's heavy all together, you gram counters can fuss all you like, my 100 lbs 37 year old wife carries this set and likes it over everything else so far and that includes my titanium pot set, from another company that she feels is not "up to it" if I remember her words correctly, she hasn't carried it even once always going back to her old banged up MSR set.

This is a great set. A little pricey, but the quality is well worth it.

Great set of pots for backcountry cooking. I only take the larger pot, which stores my stove, seasonings, and utensils ( pocket rocket, salt, pepper, garlic salt, and one chopped off plastic spoon).

It is a great pot, only down fall is that my whisperlite international doesn't fit in it. Anyway it's not its intended use so it still gets 5 stats!

My wife and I have been using this set for 5 years now. It holds up very well to the abuse we have put them through. Everything fits nicely into the large pot. Although, for short and light trips we just bring the one pot. The detachable handle is nice. The whole set is a bit heavy, but it is able to do whatever you need it for in the back country.

I bought this cook system 2 years ago and have used it on al my solo hikes ever since. It is durable and light weight and boils 2 cups of water perfectly. The included insulated mug is awesome and keeps coffee and tea hot. It is a great system and I would recommend it to any solo hiker or backpacker. 5 stars!

I spent a few months in Patagonia and regularly was in the field for 10+ days on my own. This pot is light weight, easy to clean, and so reliable!! I used it with the pocket rocket stove and a small fuel canister. Awesome lightweight and super easy setup.

We have had this set now since 2009. Its got a great design to save space and perfect for various styles of trips. We bring the smaller pot with us probably half of the time, depends on what meals we are planning (multiple courses, water for hot coco) otherwise when we do remove the smaller pot then we can store our coffee, hot coco, tea, and various other items so its helpful on organizing and utilizing storage space. We lost one of the bowls off our trailer one hunting trip and we were able to replace it without a hiccup. Super easy and efficient. We love this set. Thats also why my sister and brother-in-law, brother, and 2 cousins also have the set now.

I was a little surprised at the size (larger than I expected) when I unboxed this set. Definitely good to have in my range of cooking gear and this is my go-to when car camping. The mugs do a very good job keeping their contents hot. Only thing I added were some eating utensils and the MSR Quick Skillet (which conveniently nests on the bottom, but is loose) for a more complete setup.

The set has entered its third year of use and has seen plenty of use. Mostly use the pair for canoe and sea kayaking trips. The small pot has served well for preparing sauces and the big pot for the carbs. Usually serve two people easily, with the potential to serve at least two others. Everything compacts well into the pans fitting the stove, msr bowls and light my fire sports inside the pots which cuts down on space and keeps everything in one place. Easy to wash due to the non stick layer.

I've enjoyed using this set - they are great for any type of camping, even on longer backcountry trips. They can be packed with small items on top of their already compact arrangement for max efficiency. The non-stick still sticks at times though unfortunately - wish this was a better coating.

I bought the set about a year and a half ago. As all the reviews said, it's compact and serves well for two. I've mostly used it to heat up water or cook canned food, using only plastic utensils. However, the non-stick coating start to wear off since this summer and now the bottom of the bigger pot is almost not non-sticking anymore. Strongly recommend the manufacture to improve the non-sticking coating.

I bought this about 3 weeks ago for a car camping trip. it was great to not need to pack box full of odd sized pots, pans, and plates when this set is just perfect. the two pots work great, I also added the quick skillet that packs well together. i like the plate/bowls which keeps little morsels from falling off your plate. friends were liking my gear setup. looking forward to taking this Backpacking in the coming months
