This tent is working out very well. Initially had a terrible smell, but after discussing with tech support, we came to the conclusion that it may just be gassing off and it will go away. We finished using it for the first season, and by the last trip, the smell was gone. I am sure if we left it set up for a week, it would have never been noticed. Great product, no leaks, light and just the right size for 2 people and their gear, or 3 people and their sleep systems.

Love the tent but I am having the same problems as others with the poles. One adapter was inside the pole and I found 2 other loose ones. I sent à waranty request. Waiting to see if I get a response. Except for that I love this tent.

Had an issue with the pole framework and response from customer service, however, they have since responded and quickly sent me a new pole set. Looking forward to using it as (despite the initial pole issue) we like the tent very much. Appreciate the positive response.

First of all, the Hubba Hubba 3 is so lightweight yet sturdy. It is incredibly well-made and well-thought-out. It's our go-to tent for backpacking. The door zips are perfect and always operate without frustration (looking at you The North Face Stormbreak 3). The internal storage is plentiful and very useful. Setup takes minutes. We love the two-way zips on the fly so you can peek outside without opening up the whole door. The quibbles we have are with the poles and the ventilation. The second time we used the tent, two of the inner silver pieces of poles disappeared inside the main black poles. It took some doing, but we wiggled them back out and the night was saved, but they are still loose. Reading these reviews, I see this is a common issue. I have reached out to support, and hopefully, we get some replacement poles, and hopefully, it doesn't happen to any of the other poles. I'm going to purchase a pole stint just in case. Lastly, the ventilation is very poor. Coming from the Stormbreak 3, I'm shocked at how little air movement there is. This is sometimes welcome during cold nights in the fall and spring, where you'll take as much warmth as you can! But this past trip ranged in temperature from a 12°C low at night to highs of 23°C. Each night, I was so hot I didn't even have my sleeping bag on until around 3 or 4am, when the temperature dropped. I cannot imagine trying to sleep in this tent in the height of summer. And before anyone suggests leaving the fly open or off - that isn't an option in the Atlantic Provinces, where the night air has a lot of moisture and you'll just end up being soaked in your tent. There was also a LOT of condensation on the inside of the fly each night, regardless of the weather. All in all, this tent is incredibly lightweight and absolutely worth the trade-offs. We are happy overall and look forward to more adventures in our Hubba Hubba 3 - as long as we get some replacement poles!

After 6 nights of rain in the Alaskan wilderness, the inside of the tent stayed warm and dry. Airflow was not an issue as the temperatures were in the 50s and low 60s. The Hubba Hubba 3 was a palace for one person and its low weight meant I could easily bring it along on a 50lb limit flight into the back country. Lots of space but not too large and I was easily able to carve a spot for it out of the bush to pitch it for the week. I have previously camped in it with my spouse and our dog and had plenty of room then as well. Highly recommended.

Incredible tent. Easy to pitch, lots of headroom, excellent zippers, great gear storage options, and super solid in the wind and rain. Can't believe it is so light!

Just got back from a 7 day canoe trip. The tent withstood 12 hours of nonstoo rain without a single leak.

I was a little hesitant when ordering this tent because of some negative reviews regarding the poles splintering. Well I'm happy to report that these issues have been resolved and I haven't found any issues with the carbon poles. The space afforded by the 3 person is very nice. Steep sidewalls and I high ceiling make this tent one of the most livable tents I've purchased. The square design and room for 3 wide 25" pads make this tent perfect for couples with dogs. If I didnt have to factor in my dog we probably would've gotten the 2 person. The 2 person version should still fit two 25" pads and I definitely think it would be enough space. No issues to report on the rain fly. The one and only thing I didn't love about this tent was the the non-fast pitch design. Otherwise it's amazing!

I just got back from a five day hike on the California's Lost Coast where we encountered rain/ wind and lots of damp mornings. The tent did a well job of keeping us dry and warm. When we got home I pulled the tent out to dry it out and noticed that the pole joint had slipped in to the pole. Not just one spot but two places. I will need to contact MSR for a warranty. I also purchased an Access 3 and am worried the same thing might happed to those easton poles as well. I looked in to the reviews about that and found that to be a problem. Hopefully MSR will resolve this issue.

Awesome tent, super light weight and stands up well in strong gusts. But the redesigns suck for most of the reasons Charles said. The new "stuff sack" is just a cheap cylinder. The old bag with actual handles and compression straps were way better. Obviously cutting corners here. And again with the new "universal ground sheet" that has no eyelets like the old one so it just slides around unless you buy extra pegs and add more weight. The twin zips are annoying to use and the tent does not breathe well.

I don't hate all things about it but it but have a couple gripes. Tent is spacious and fast to set up. Weight is acceptable for backpacking. My biggest complaint is that there is no airflow. The vents on the fly are very small and even with fly doors open, not enough airflow given the fabric walls. Just spent 5 nights camping along the ocean on West Coast Trail and never needed a sleeping bag due to the heat trapped inside.

Very light! weights the same as our older 2 person hubba hubba, and quite spacious! I'm not crazy about the way the door closes- 2 zippers that meet in the corner rather than 1 continuous zipper.

Just bought the Hubba Hubba 3 person - had this one and the Dagger Osmo in a side by side in the yard. The Hubba won out, taller ceiling, better ventilation, more convenient pockets, and simpler build which made for a nicer interior. I had the issue with splinters from poles on one model which I exchanged, and have had no issues since. Used it on a 8 day kayaking trip and it performed very well. I used it as a two person tent which gave us a nice amount of space. I think as a three person it would be a bit tight for all. Tent is light and easy to set up, some reviewers had noted that the fly was not intuitive, but we did not have that issue. It has a line of red fabric that you can use as a guide to setting the corners of the fly correctly. Doors are a good size and it was easy to get in and out of. We had cool nights, and only a little rain during the trip. There was mild condensation on the ceiling on cool nights. Vestibules are good size and with the side entrances you can get out with out having to crawl over your packs. I do handle the poles with care as I set up and take down - but other than that no issues to remark on. So far we think it is a great tent.

Took this tent on a "spring" trip from BC to Nevada. It held up with 100km/hr winds and snow :)

We are the owners and long time users of a Hubba Hubba 2. It is time to replace or really add to our tents and move up to more space. The Hubba Hubba 3 has great room, very light weight, and is a true 3 season tent. It has so far survived and kept us dry in 2 overnight downpours. And in warm weather, very comfortable.

Had this tent for over 8 months now. Has been used for car camping, paddling, Bike touring, and hiking trips. It is most defiantly a 2 person in comfort and 3 person in a pinch tent. It is light, well made and very robust. It has stood up well to long periods of rain and high winds; kept us dry, and is quiet. We use a footprint wit the tent and wish that it fit better and secured to the tent, a universal footprint will always be a compromise over a dedicated one. The quality of materials and workmanship are exactly what you would expect for the price: excellent. The composite poles are remarkable light and yield remarkably well. The tent, when guyed out is quite stable under high winds. I would recommend to add guy lines at the tops of the door and to the sides at the pole junctions. Adding lines/loops at all the stakeout points so rocks can be used when the ground will not accept pegs/stakes is useful since the peg loops are short. The vestibules are not huge but big enough for packs, boots etc. The colour of the fly is nice and neutral and does not become bothersome over long periods in the tent. Easy to set up and take down. Let's see how is holds up over the years to come.

The metal sleeve disappeared up into a section of pike making it unusable. Managed to poke it through and secure it with tape. Also got splinters in my hand from the poles. Otherwise like the extra roominess and good rain fly coverage. But disappointed with the pole issues after only three nights use
