Essentially a mandatory upgrade if you're 200+ pounds and want to walk in Revos. Fortunately they do work and mount up well to the snowshoes.

The Evo Tails were a great idea! Great way to increase the floatation of my snowshoes.

Haven't used them this year. Atmospheric river keep us from the snow. Roads are impassable. Now the spring thaw is upon us. Maybe next year I'll get to try them out.????

The Evo Tails are exactly what I needed to increase my 25" snowshoes to 30+". In the Wasatch Mts. above SLC, we're just beginning to get some good accumulation of snow. I haven't used the "improved" snowshoes yet, but I'm certain the change will be a great improvement. Sorry, no photos yet.

Bought these for my son for Christmas. I bought old Denali shoes years ago and love them for blazing a trail through the woods for the dogs. The Tails are very helpful for flotation if it's a deep snow fall until we get the trail established. Good gear...

Helped a lot in soft snow conditions. Gives you a extra measure of versatility depending on snow conditions.

Have not actually used them but did test for ease of assembly and found it to be simple. They appear to be of high quality. The only possible problem I can foresee will be with them staying attached as the nut that screws down to attach does not have any kind of locking mechanism which could lead to loosening and loss of a tail.

I have used my snowshoes on and off of groomed trails and I like the ability to remove the tails when on groomed trails. The extensions really improve snowshoeing in deep powder snow and are easily removed.

They make a fat kid float. Seriously.

A little difficult to put on until you get the hang of it. Did add some floatation, but in 6-8" of fresh snow and 220 lb load, they really didn't help appreciably. Worst problem is one kept coming off, until I eventually lost it. And you can't buy a single tail. I wish the design could be improved. I only recommend them if you really, really need that extra floatation, and you are willing to tighten them down so tight that they will be very hard to remove.

These are relatively easy to put on and take off even with gloves on, and really boost the performance of the snowshoes if you are planning on going on an extended trip with some gear.

I use my Evo snowshoes for doing laps on my snowboard. But some days the snow is deep, dry, and awesome. Deep snow makes the downhill super fun. But the uphill is a slog. These tails make it the slog so much easier. They attach extremely easy with just a twist of a knob. Instant flotation! Now I carry them in my backpack every trip up the mountain just in case I need them.

I got these to help keep my snowshoes from sinking into deep fluffy snow. I only need them in fresh powder that's over a foot deep but they make quite a big difference. The MSR system is brilliant and allows you to decide whether you want the maneuverability of short shoes or the flotation of longer ones. Also keeps the cost of snowshoeing down and makes my adventures in the snow all the more enjoyable.

There are times when you need a little extra something on your snowshoe. MSR's Flotation Tails for Evo Snowshoe give you an extra 6 inches of on-demand flotation to any Evo snowshoe. They're easy to install; simply slide them on and twist down the adjustment knob, and you're set for added flotation in deep snow or when carrying a heavier pack.
