This is the third set of these we've purchased. We need one for our new van. It's the perfect camping cookware set.

Initial impressions, this is a great set. Surprisingly lightweight. I bought it primarily to use car camping and like that it nests easily. You need to use more oil/butter than you think to prevent sticking, a bit of a learning curve compared to ceramic pots, but I chose this one as I believe the materials will last for many, many years of use. Side note: I've had the stainless steel stow-a-way pot for over 15 years and it's still great. Stainless steel feels way more durable in the long haul.

I already knew the quality of these pots, as I used to have a set in "my filthy hippie days" 30+ years ago. Now we are full time van lifers and they work exceptionally well for this too!

These pots are incredibly durable, and easy to maneuver with the pot grip. I wish I could purchase the large pot separately. We use these with big groups for camping and backpacking.

This set of pots are fantastic. I moved to these stainless steel pots after other cook sets just couldn´t hold up to the wear and tear of constant use in the Patagonia mountains. These have held up more than one season and I couldn´t be more thrilled.

The set is bullet proof, can be used on a stove or fire without worry about damage and can be paired up or down depending on group size. This is not a set for light and fast by any means, but when paired with my dragonfly, cooking for 4 hungry backpackers any tme I the year it fits the bill. (I'm talking about actual cooking not boil in a bag food). I appreciate that each pot has its own lid as well. If longevity, capacity and durability are your objectives for group backpacking this is a nice set.

The Alpinist Four cookset is a great set for a group of four or more. The pots nest well, along with room for a few MSR bowls in the middle.

Great kit but the 3 liter pot is too big for most of my trips. 3 liter pot is also so wide that it has a center hotspot that is difficult to avoid. The 2 and 1 liter pot are perfect! Get the 2 pot version instead

I've had this set for years. It is absolutely bomber. While it is not the lightest set out there (it is stainless steel, after all), it is not significantly heavier; and it can take a beating. I've used it for both summer and winter backcountry trips and am thoroughly pleased. The lids double as plates or pans as well.

We use these pots for our outdoor program and they have withstand abuse from college students on many backpacking trips. Work great for groups of 4-5.

Thesent pots are extremely rugged and are Great when at base camp, in your backcountry backpack, car camping or when a rugged snow melting pot set is needed. The pots and lids nest together for easy transport and with the different pot sizes you can take as many or as few as you require on your trip. I've used on stoves and fire grills as well as on open fires and the pots and lids along with the pot gripper function very well. The lids can be used as fry pans. I would definitely recommend this pot set to anyone needed a more rugged long lasting pot set especially if you have varying group sizes and have snow melting needs in the backcountry. A proven long time performer in the MSR product line.

When I bought this kit as a replacement to the hand me down no name brand, I was excited about being able to cook on stainless at the site just like home. We are a family of 4 that base camps about 4-5 times a year for up to 3 days at a time. This cook set has come in handy from breakfast with eggs and bacon, to pasta and sauce. Heats up quick, no waiting like the cheap stuff. Kit cleans up well with soap and water and before I store after drying I wipe down the insides with coconut oil to be ready for the next meal. The handle is supper sturdy and easy to operate. I have used this set on top of Coleman propane stove, camp fire grill, Jetboil.
