Marmot Thor 3p is a True Expedition Tent

I have been using 4-season expedition tents for over 40 years. I can't say enough about how this tent impresses me. Marmot tents don't benefit from the name recognition of other brands but after you own the Thor 3p you will understand why it is used as a base camp tent on Everest Expeditions. And when it is set up with the guy lines it is truly bombproof. It is self-supporting which can really come in handy in rough terrain.

Marmot Thor 3p Performs Flawlessly in James Bay

I used my Marmot Thor 3p on a canoe expedition on the Eastmain River in the James Bay Region of Central Quebec in July 2024 and it performed flawlessly. We had high winds, lots of rain and some cold temperatures and the tent kept us dry and snug. We even had to camp on a small mountain top with no place to stake and everything was great. The fact that the Marmot is also self supporting is a great plus.
