This is a nice warm winter beanie. I bought it to wear with three Marmot Gravity soft shell jackets I own. The hat goes skiing but it also sees general use in the winter for chores outside or on my commute. It's not bulky and you can stuff it anywhere. So it often rides in my car or backpack all winter. I carry it in my backpack spring and fall in case temps dip low enough that I need to keep my head warm. It's about 4 years old now and shows no signs of wear.

I bought this hat thinking it was a warm winter hat but was shockingly disappointed at how thin the material is. There is only a 2 inch band of fleece inside the sweatband and the upper part is super thin fabric that can be seen through when held up to the light and wind blows right through it. I would describe this as a fashion hat because it's definitely not made to keep you warm. What a ripoff!

product arrived quickly. But when I read the marmot tag in the hat...it says 100% polyester and 100% Acrylic. The sunny sports description states that the hat is 100% wool. You are way off sunny sports. False Advertising. But the hat is worm and nice. I will be contacting customer service to watch their description

The hat is warm and comfortable and breathes well. I wore it hiking all day in Moab, UT, during the colder days of December and didn't feel overheated after warming up. I didn't get to try it under my helmet, but it would probably be ok if you have something like the Black Diamond Half Dome. Covers the ears well.
