Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is this jacket waterproof? Can i use it as rain gear for Alaskan cruise?JENNIFER L : I would have no issues with taking this jacket to Alaska in the summertime when you're sure the weather is going to be warm. I bought this jacket to take on cruises/vacations as it is light as a feather and it packs really small. It is seam sealed so it should be waterproof. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten a chance to test that yet though as it didtn't rain on my last Caribbean cruise. I went on an Alaskan cruise late last summer/early fall and I took a heavier weight GoLite waterproof shell I bought years ago. We were outside a lot and out on the water so I'm glad I had the extra protection as it was windy and cold at times. I also had to wear an insulating jacket under the shell and a hat to stay warm....but I am very cold natured. I intend to use the Crystalline shell in the summertime when heavier waterproof jackets would just be too hot and a heavier shell in the winter to ward off the cold. The Crystalline jacket is very light and thin and I'm really happy with my purchace. I don't doubt that it will be waterproof. Keep in mind though that many waterproof shells will eventually need to be refreshed with a wash in or spray on DWR product. Check out Nikwax for those types of products. They will ensure that water beads off the surface of the garmant for many years to come. By the way, the purple color is awesome!CHEL H : Yes it is waterproof, and yes you can use it for your cruise as long as you have a fleece or other layer inside for warmth. I love my Crystralline jacket!Zack W : It does offer the Marmot MemBrain Strata Waterproof feature. Enjoy it! Zack.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?Cynthia C : I ordered this jacket for rain protection in Costa Rica and my main requirements are: lightweight, breathable, waterproof, and affordable. After much online research and reading customer reviews, I chose the Marmot Crystalline. After receiving and trying it, I'll review how it meets expectations. (nice styling also)CHEL H : ultra lightweight. packs small. waterproof. great slim cut.

Great all around shell

https://www.outdoorgearlab.com/reviews/clothing-womens/rain-jacket-womens/marmot-crystalline I found this jacket as I was looking for a lightweight, packable rain jacket... I didn't get hot and sweaty while using it in Europe during the summer during light rain... Next test is South East Asia.

Great company to order from. Arrived in a timely manner and the return was very easy. Thank you.

It was a replacement for one I have but the inside material was different and too stiff and actually was too small even thougj the Marmot crystalline jacket is also a size small and fits great. Love the jacket, but had to return it.

5 Stars AND ultra lightweight too!

Love this jacket! Unlike the PreCip Marmot jackets this one does NOT sound like you are wearing Tyvek!
