I've used this bag for backpacking in the Sierras and for car camping in Northern Colorado. For backpacking, the compressibility and weight were great. In the Sierras, temperatures reached around 30F, and I was a bit chilly. I'm unsure if I would bring it down to 20F without a liner.

I don't know how Marmot makes a synthetic 20-degree bag that weighs less than 2 lbs but they did and at a great price point. I bought this for potential wet weather and stream crossings where the bag could get wet. It's been warm and cozy down to the low 30's even in a light weight tent. Although a new purchase, I've had it out to Zion and Anza Borrego and couldn't be happier.

Bought this product a few years ago. Wanted a lighter weight bag that compresses well. This bag weighs in right at 2 lbs and comes with a compression sack so it compresses to a very small size. Used it down to around 25 degrees and was a little cold, but I think that had as much to do with the sleeping pad. It's synthetic fill but really light. Only drawback is it's a pretty narrow bag, so may feel confining to some. Really good option if you are looking for a lightweight bag that compresses well, with the benefits of a synthetic fill bag, and not wanting to spend a lot of money. Good value, lifetime warranty too.

I've used this as a winter bag for about two busy seasons. I've gotten it down into the low teens, but while wearing ski bib, multiple layers, and a high loft jacket. Cold but slept. The extreme rating is 20 and that's fair. I'm 5'9 and 155lbs, and it fits great. I think the bag is genius and one of the best bags on the market. Pretty much my favorite bag and totally recommend.

Good solid bag that packs down small and doesn't weigh too much considering the price point

A synthetic bag that compares to 650 fill down?! ElixeR insulation really is a revelation if you camp in wet areas (or don't want to spend $600+) The bag lofts and compresses like 650 down, it even weighs similarly. The cons of this bag? It's a little constricting, a wide option would be nice for those of us with bigger shoulders! Also, I don't like the hood very much. Fully loosened off, it feels like it's already cinched tight. Good for pushing the temp limits of the bag, but in general use, I'd carry the extra 0.5oz to have a more comfortable hood! Also, a little more fill in the foot box would be nice. As a general rule, if you fail to hit your temp claim on the EN Rating, then add some fill! Pretty common sense I'd say. The insulation in this bag is undoubtedly the future of high quality synthetic bags. But the bag itself might not be. Too be clear, I'd still 100% recommend it!
