Mountain Equipment Kinesis Jacket for Men

I really, really wanted to like this jacket as it seems to have hit all the right design notes. Excellent hood, effective pocket placement, light and compressible and comfortable materials.Sadly, I had the same fit issues that I often have with British clothing. The medium was too tight for comfort though the sleeves and hood were perfect. A large would have been too long and loose in the torso with a way too big hood and too long sleeves. I?m just between sizes. I was sad to have returned it. Nothing against the thing itself. If it fits you, you will find it an excellent thing of its sort.

Great lightweight jacket, super warm helmet compatible hood, best price for this type of jacket. Better for layering, not an outer shell/ outer warming layer. Best used close to base layer. I used this on a 14,000 ft peak only used this and a merino wool base layer while climbing, then used belay jacket for stops.

Mountain Equipment isn't as well known in the US as other brands, but their quality, design and materials are expedition grade. The kinesis jacket is incredibly light, warm for it's weight, breathable and comfortable. It is fantastic for climbing, cold weather biking, alpine skiing, or as an under-shell mid layer. I don't want to take it off!
