Bought this tent recently and used it for the first time, held up nicely in a pretty heavy downpour but water did seep in through the floor when it was trapped between the footprint and the tent itself. It's nice to be able to stand up inside of it! Look forward to using it more in the future.

Love this tent so far but only used it once and had an issue. Contacted customer service today and they are sending replacement parts tomorrow overnight priority. Excellent customer service.

I purchased this tent for a family of 4/5 to go camping. It says you can fit up to 6 but I would say that's pushing it on the amount of space available. I also didn't realize that to have any privacy over the doors, you HAVE to use this with the rain cover. If you're in the wild, it's no problem, but we tend to camp in State Parks and some more popular places so just be aware... I wasn't when I purchased it - but kudos to the video and ad team because it had me sold without noticing! :) I left this at 5 stars because the only "issue" was my personal preference. Kelty has amazing products that have served us well over the years. My boyfriend has never been camping before and he and I set this up with no problem. We used a tarp under the front entrance area and used it to store shoes and other things. I will say it does take up a considerable amount of space with the rain cover so just be aware if using a traditional tent site. It was a close fit for us but the first adventure was great! Looking forward to many more family memories made with Kelty.

We are a family of four, and we love our Rumpus 6 Tent. It's easy to set up and has held up very well in both windstorms and rain. It is a great-quality tent for a reasonable price.

We use the Rumpus 6 for a family of four; two adults, two early teenagers. The base goes up easily, with the footprint well-centered underneath. The fly is huge, and the pole that threads through it can be challenging if you don't have a helper. We seam-sealed the tub and fly. It's weathered some gushing downpours without flooding and nary a drop of water. The big fly is large enough keep items out of the weather, like chairs, cold camp stove, or maybe a couple of bikes. The tent poles are substantial fiberglass segmented rods. They won't win anti-gravity awards, but this is a car-camping tent, not a back-packing one. We love the tent, it's well worth the money.

Good tent, bought it to fit our family of four and new dog. Overall really liked the tent, held up in 15 mph winds no problem at all. My only issue was that when staked down tight the entrance zipper on the main tent was very delicate, and if you are not careful, it may tear. But, again, solid tent so far.

Overall I like the tent. It was the right size, it kept me dry, and I liked the oversized front 'awning.' That said it does have some obvious design flaws that seem like they could have been easy fixes to dramatically improve the function. The good: -ample headroom, can stand comfortably -kept (mostly) dry in a heavy downpour and wind. -good number of storage pockets inside. -clip on pole attachments for the main structure (no annoying sleeves) -just barely fits 2 full-sized air mattresses for 4 people (only one queen sized would fit). -I like how the main poles attach to the tent corners by fitting into a pocket. Makes setting up easy and manageable even with just one person. Could be better: -the 2 poles for the main tent are almost identical to the rain fly pole, except for the end caps are different, which matters. The rain fly attaches differently than the other 2, so if you use the wrong one to start, you have to undo and start over. Why not make them all the same? -doesn't come with canopy poles. -rain water pools in the canopy when is up. Could have been designed with a slope to avoid that. -the rainfly poles go into special grommets that are only on one side of the tent. It doesn't seem like there is any difference between the "front" and "back other than that- so you can't easily change your mind which side to put up the canopy on. Why not make it easily reversible and put the grommets on both sides? -the rainfly uses a sleeve for the pole which makes it unnecessarily difficult to put up. -the rainfly requires to be staked in to function, and just slumps on the ground otherwise. Makes platform camping more difficult if you don't have places to tie off. -I wish there were curtain toggle ties for the side flaps of the canopy to get them out of the way when not needed -I wish it had a power cord slit like I've seen in other comparable tents. Instead it will need to run through the door zipper. -there is no privacy curtain when the canopy is up, so if you have chairs, table, cook surface etc in the awning area you will need to move everything and take the poles down to close the front. -I wish it had a ceiling pocket for a light like I've seen in comparable tents. There is a small loop so if your lamp doesn't have its own hook you'll have to tie it. -a small amount of water seeped through the mesh air vent in the top during the rain, which dripped on my bed.

This tent was perfect for car camping over labor day weekend. We were seeking a more spacious tent for our family of 3 + dog and this exceeded those requirements. - Spacious: We could all stand up inside this tent and the ample floor space ensured no one got stepped on for any late night excursions. It could easily and comfortably accommodate our entire family and friends for visiting and card games. And with the rainfly there's a bonus vestibule, perfect for taking off shoes before going in, extra storage or just getting a little separation of space. - Effortless setup: The corner pockets and clips make it so easy to assemble! We were able to get it set up within minutes of arriving to our campsite and also break it down equally as fast. - Thoughtful features: In addition to the vestibule, this tent also has a back door. There are pockets at all corners and a clip for lights at the apex. It's very well ventilated and did not get stuffy even after sleepy in it for a couple nights. I highly recommend this tent to anyone looking for a spacious and comfortable home away from home.

Tent has room and room to spare. Love being able to stand up in it. Only concern, the no-see-um fabric is worryingly tight in the front where it attaches to the poles. Makes me think the zipper will have a pretty short life.

The size, shape, and vestibule are all awesome. I love the carrying bag. However the material is a bit cheap feeling and the poles aren't aluminum. Which I should have checked. I also had great difficulty getting the rain fly to fit correctly. Set up and tear down were very easy. There was a lot of condensation at the beach which easily dripped into the cabin. Overall a pretty good tent, especially for a tall person like myself.

I was excited about this purchase with the price, 2 doors, and huge vestibule. Took it out for the first camp and the front bottom zipper did not want to go past a certain spot. I did not want to force it in fear of ruining the zipper. I returned it for a refund. Pros- Huge vestibule, easy set up, 2 doors, good price Cons- Zipper sucks (hopefully just a defect), floor is the same material as the rest of the tent

I wanted to wait until I had a chance to use this tent a couple times before giving it a review. It's been through two thunderstorms and me and family stayed nice and dry. For how big the tent is, it was surprisingly easy to set up. While it's much easier with two people it's definitely possible to do by yourself. The rain fly clips are color coordinated so you don't have to guess which way it goes. Usually my sticking point with tents are the zippers but so far the zippers have held up well (still early to tell). My only critique so far has been the stakes which tend to bend easily when putting them in the ground.

We took our new tent on its maiden voyage this past weekend. It was super comfortable with two cots. I (5?10?) could easily stand up in the middle. We loved the massive front vestibule!

We camp 4-6x a year here in Hawaii. We encounter heavy rains and wind regularly. I chose this tent for the full coverage rain fly but the extra alcove of rain fly covered space outside the tent is awesome! We could ever fit two small cots under that extra space where my teens tuck into at night when the rains hit. Super impressed with this tent. We also have a Marmot and Sierra Design but this is our favorite. Good air flow, nice colors and smooth zippers. Packs up pretty small and light too. East to put up. I?m 5?6 and I can set this up alone no problem. After my friend saw it while camping, she ordered it right than and there. Really happy with this tent.

Tent easy to set up, lots of room for blow up queen mattress and cot. Plenty of head room. Stakes high quality but my flexibility makes it difficult to hammer in if ground is hard.

We bought the Rumpus and have mixed feelings. On first use, we noticed a small hole in the screening about the size of a pencil eraser. Then, when set up was compete, the fabric was pulled so taught that it was impossible to zip up the door. We had to disconnect two pole attachments to make enough slack. (We have camped for a decade, the last 7 years with a Kelty tent that we have worn out - it was fabulous. We know how to set up a tent.) The only think we can think of is that something is off about the fabric measurement or construction. It is bizarre. Some parts are so tight I don?t see how the tent will last?and others are so loose the fabric pools and billows. The tent design itself is wonderful, a great vestibule and tall space that makes living easy. But something seems off?

It is well built, super spacious tent. I had 3 days and nights rain without stopping everything was dry. Perfect tent for family car camping.

Love this tent. Super easy to set up. Tons of room. Gives our family of 4 more space than we need, which everyone appreciates ??. Love the big vestibule too. Great setup/demo video from Kelty. I also appreciate the design/aesthetic. It's even easy to put back in the bag. A++. Very happy with our new family tent!

My new favorite tent! Single dad with three kids, we all fit in with plenty of room for our stuff! I got approached by quite a few people who loved the design and wanted a closer look. We named her the space wagon and she will be traveling with us for a long time. Great tent, great shape, kept us dry and comfy.

Loved the layout of this tent. Got three kids and two adults comfortably. I only wish the floor material was thicker

We have been waiting for this tent for months. When I received notification that it was back in stock I was delighted and quickly purchased it. When it arrived we couldn't wait to set it up. The set up for this tent is quick and easy. My kids and I set it up in no time. It's a little bit challenging for those who are not endowed with great height, but we managed. The only complaint that I have is that our tent had some markings on the material, purely cosmetic, nothing that interfered with the functionality of the tent but when purchasing a new tent I wasn't expecting. Looking forward to using this tent on our many adventures!

I would highly recommend this tent for anyone camping in groups. First time out had to take shelter due to a tornado and it survived high winds and downpours without an issue. Wouldn't expect anything less from a Kelty! The space inside and out is great and perfect for our kids and dogs!

Good layout. Good design. Plenty of room for camping with kids. Talk in the middle. Easy to pitch. Easy to take down. Poles are rather cheap. Fabric is especially cheap. Get the footprint because you?ll tear the bottom out without one. The floor is a very flimsy material and is already showing small tears and pinholes from modest use.
