This is a great pack. I bought it for myself and realized it is a little small for what I need. I gave it to my small framed 13 year old daughter who hikes with me all the time. She used it and was able to pack everything she needed and then some. She said it is "so comfortable, it fits and doesn't pull me back". I waited to review this pack until we had a few hikes under our belt. It is confirmed she "loves it".

I have not used this bag yet. I have had a Kelty Arrowhead 2500 for about 13 years and it has not disappointed. It has gone on three trips a year every year since. This Redwing feels a little flimsy with little support. I think it will work for me and am looking forward to using it. I however do not feel like it will live up to the Arrowhead I have had. I probably should have gotten the Tactical Redwing. More to follow...

Great fit and a good day hike bag. I appreciate the amount of space for a day hike. You it allows you to carry all of your needs and has great organization. Bag also fits very well.

Camping, hiking, and airline travel are what consumes my time. I’ll be using this bag for all 3! Light and comfortable... it’s just what I’ve been looking for.

After having this pack for about a month now, all I can say is WOW. The build quality is excellent and Kelty’s pocket layout puts them on top of their competitors with bags twice the price. Buy with confidence!

It’s comfortable and rides well. It’s bigger than what I thought it would be but works well.

The Kelty Redwing 32 was a beautiful, comfortable backpack that came in quickly. It was perfect for our use, which included a few light daypacking trips with our kids.

I really like the waist belt which is not a feature on most day packs. It’s great for shifting the extra load of all day hikes or overnight trips to your hips and off your shoulders.

You'll for sure get your money’s worth out of this pack. A little on the heavy side if you're trying to go ultralight. There are lots of bells and whistles on this pack for a 32 liter. Definitely more than what you’d need for a day hike or overnight stay. I'd recommend this pack to someone who's just getting into hiking/backpacking. At this price point, you're not going to find a better pack. Hike on, Anthony

Good back pack came in very useful on our day hikes around San Diego County. I would recommend this purchase.

I bought 2 of the Redwing 32 packs for me and my son. So far we've done two day hikes the longest of which was 15 miles. They are working great. I like how well they snug up to the back so that they don't move. Plenty of storage for what we've needed.

Kelty makes amazing products, I already own a lot because of the great quality... Got this one for my wife, and it doesn't fall short... She didn't believe me at first, then we loaded it up and she said wow!

I bought this bag to replace an old Gregory Border 35. I loved the Border, it was both my EDC bag and my travel companion, but I had to modify a lot of things on it and make a good number of compromises. The Redwing 32 is everything I wish my Border had been. The lid pocket. full front opening, easily accessible water bottle and exterior pockets are all well sized and laid out. I did a 9 mile walk to and from the liquor store, two bottles of rum and a 6 pack of beer for the walk home, and the bag carried it no worries. If I could give it 6 stars I would.

I really like this pack for day trips. I have packed it to it's limits and done several overnight trips. The pack has has held up well and is comfortable. My only suggestion would be to add some nylon webbing for attachment points at the bottom of the pack. The gear/tool loops are not very useful to me for attaching a blanket, bag, or bed roll.

Yes, the hardware is made of thick plastic, but this is a perfect bag for me to take for business travel and a day hike ... Simple enough, organized enough... this is a good backpack

Used it for some time. Took it for overnight hikes but most of the time used for commuting. Quite a good pack, however, it has few things to improve. Pros: + good capacity, the idea with top side pockets IMAO is great. + hiding hipbelt is also a nice solution, gives a lot of versatility to this pack. + U zip is great, gives access to all the stuff in one time. + high-quality furniture and zippers, no issues so far. Cons: - mesh pockets are a whole mess, I just stopped using it cause tired of buying new bottles. - the lower compression strap is a little bit too high. If it would just a bit lower, and not attached to a beavertail, the last one would be able to open much widely which would provide much more space in it and easier access. Also, the strap could be much more useful in keeping the bottle inside the mesh. - no attachment points on the bottom. Overall, it is a really good pack for a good price, but it has some construction issues, improving of which will make this pack even greater for the same price. I hope that sometime Kelty will release a new improved version of this pack :)

I recently revamped my EDC - Get Home Bag - from my 5.11 Military Tactical 24 to a more civilized version. The Redwing 32 features the comfort and fit with the versatility of a more sophisticated system at a price point much easier on the pocket book. I took advantage of the recent sale and am very pleaseed with the Kelty 32.

I wanted a small day pack for hiking, biking and maybe some skiing. I am 6'3" and weigh about 250. can just get the pack adjusted to fit me. if I was any bigger it would not work. will certainly not fit over winter clothing. will work ok for summer but I will have to get another pack for early spring, late fall or winter or use my 30 year old pack I have been using. Other than that I like the features of the pack. It would have been just right if it was for someone my size.

I have been using the backpack for work. Putting various items in it, big small it packs a lot for a small pack. I like the outer pocket that is open I put wood lathe and a metal locator in it. Fit is good and adjustable.

I wasn't too impressed with the bag, but it works for what I needed. I was looking for a weekend bag, and was attracted to the features of the Redwing 32. PROS: I do enjoy several of the features. The zipper system and the front pouch are fantastic. The top zipper allows me to fit a few things on top of the bag. I use the front pouch to haul my shoes/sandals. CONS: The bag is really narrow which limits what you can pack. If I had it to do over again, I would get the Kelty 44 or another brand. The zippers aren't great. They seem kind of cheap. My front pouch zipper keeps catching the fabric and sticking. I've trimmed some of the fabric but it still happens. I have to force it open, and since the zippers aren't great, I'm not sure long it will last.

Received my Redwing 32 and took it on a 3 week trip to Europe. Very pleased with it and the performance. Particularly like the multiple pockets, expandable back area to pack additional items as well as the back cushions.

KELTY REDWING 32 2017 model 1/25/2018 I bought the KELTY REDWING 32 L for day hiking and snowshoeing largely because it is a very versatile backpack. The REDWING 32 with its large main compartment, seven outside pockets, two of which are mesh wand pockets and one is a stash pocket (in some genre’s known as a shovel pocket), has outstanding organizational capability…For me, each pocket has a dedicated purpose- it seemed intuitive. Also for my needs at 32L/1950 cubic Inches, this pack is not to...

The Kelty Redwing 32 Pack is a mid-sized daypack for hanging around downtown or a day on the trail. Featuring a full-access U-shaped zipper, you can get at your gear either through the top loader or the panel loader, giving you options on the trail. An internal padded sleeve can either hold your laptop or store your hydration system, and extra water bottle pockets on the side help you stay hydrated. A multitude of pockets give you plenty of options for storing all your gear, like dual side pockets, a top stash pocket, a front pocket with organization, a front stash pocket with closure hook, and even a key fob so you don't lose your keys. Strap on your extra gear with the hide-away daisy chain and handy ice axe or trekking pole loops, and the air mesh waist belt hides away, too, when you don't need it. The advanced Hex Mesh back panel, shoulder straps, and waist belt are ultra comfortable, and the padded and ventilating back panel keeps your back cool and comfortable all day long. You can stabilize your load with the sternum strap and load lifter straps to fit the Redwing 32 Pack snuggly against your body and head out on your next adventure.
