The pack you want to buy.

I have used this pack for overnight and multiday trips and love it. The Kelty Coyote 105 will be the last pack I'll buy. The size is perfect, the price can't be beat, and the quality of the craftsmanship is worth the price. If you don't need all the room the back compresses without being clumsy. Plenty of external pockets and lashing points. There are two items that I wish were included - A rain cover Elastic cord through the lash points on the front of the pack Even with these two issues, I highly recommend the pack if you need a pack that can vary in its overall internal capacity. This is the backpack for you.

A measured success

Can't do a Kumbaya moment for this as I haven't actually used it. Upon inspection it appears to be well-constructed and I am looking forward to using it.

Not too Large

I have been using a much older and smaller Kelty bag for a long time. I would have to attach gear to the top and bottom for many trips. I wanted something big and light but I'm only 5'7" so I did not anything to look awkward or feel uncomfortable. This bag is great. It doesn't look too big at all and is awesome at including straps that tighten the bag perfectly around your gear so your center of gravity stays true. The straps are substantial in a good way and I think it looks great. It's a little intimidating at first because it has a lot of zips and straps but you pick it up quick. Packing gear away outdoors is easy and the bag allows you to unpack in a very specific way from the bottom, top, and sides. It's definitely not a ultra-light camping bag that all these yahoos are using now but I love it.

Durable with Lots of Room

Great bag. I was able to hike with it and test it out last weekend. I took it whitetail hunting and put in about 15 miles hiking up and down ridges with 30 pounds of gear. Very comfortable pack. I had plenty of space--too much space as I wasn't carrying sleeping gear, but the nice thing is tying it down when you don't need to use all the space. It compresses very nicely. I did have a couple of complaints about the bag itself, but it isn't really anything negative about the product, hence the five-star rating. First of all, other rucks I've ordered come with a built-in rain cover. I had to order a separate rain cover for this ruck. Not really a huge deal, but there it is. Finally, I wish this ruck had MOLLE panels available. I understand it's not necessarily a tactical ruck, but if the fabric is strong enough, MOLLE would have been a nice addition for other accessories and customization. I'll try to adapt with my own MOLLE at this point. However, I was aware of the lack of MOLLE panels when ordering, so I can't really hold it against Kelty.

Coyote 105

I used it for a 2 night 3 day trip and it was wonderful. It had enough space for all my gear and still had room. I love all the pockets around the pack. This mad it easy to put useful gear on the outside like water, snacks, and tp. It even was able to hold my fishing gear to without damaging them.

5day trip review

Great! No problems living out of the pack for a 5 day canoe trip. Hard to say anything negative but I suppose it will help someone. The ?lid? of the pack has a large pouch, it?s not easy to get in that unless you first loosen or completely open the whole top. Not a huge deal. Also, 1 hour of rain completely saturated the outside of the pack. I though it would be waterproof. Lastly, I needed a separator inside the large pack. The one that is there is does not hold back most gear, and also doesn?t allow the pack to fully expand when plump full. Happy with the pack!

Great bag, missing 1 thing.

This bag is awesome. Tons of space and very comfortable to wear. One thing I wish it had was a rain cover built into it. Other than having to buy the rain cover separate, great bag.

Continued quality and improving upon what kelty has built before.

I purchased this as a replacement for an old red cloud. I couldn?t be happier. Comfortable and more than enough room for my gear plus room to take weight off my kids packs. Build very well and I?m sure it will last just as long as my other kelty packs.

Great pack!

I used this pack to haul 70 ibs. It was comfortable and offered enough support. The extra pockets are definitely useful. If you are having to haul water, I recommend this pack. It also can compress really well and can be sized down. Or if you decide not to stuff everything in your pack all organized you can do that too Lots of options.

Great Backpack

This backpack performed very well on a 5 day trip loaded with almost 80lbs. Just the right amount of pockets and zippers to get you into the body of the backpack without unpacking from the top. Lots of tie-off points for lashing equipment to the exterior. The pack remained supportive and comfortable day after day. Very happy with this purchase!

After days days in the Alaskan back country I can still say I love this pack. It has plenty of room for all your essentials and great pocket placement for all the little things you need with easy access.

Gotta be the "Flagship" model backpack

The Coyote 105 replaced my old Kelty Ridgway pack I had for many years in Alaska. While my old one still has a lot of life left, the Coyote 105 is the most comfortable and balanced pack ever. Large and heavy and/or bulky loads are carried with ease and comfort. Amazing fit and ruggedly built this pack will probably never wear out. Can't wait for the next outing!

Good overall pack

in general the pack was great, it performed well, the shoulder straps could have ben a bit beefier like the Coyote 85 but all was good. The pack carried well the 7 miles I hiked in the mountains and camped for a week. Would recommend this pack
