Used this recently with a couple of poles purchased from REI. This provided great shade and rain coverage.

We love our Noah's Tarp 12 ... after 20+ years our original Noah's Tarp lost its luster ... we love this newer addition. We use it when car camping along with our Kelty tent. The Noah's Tarp 12 we cover the picnic table - providing shade and rain cover - keeping us comfortable and dry! We love the velcro sleeves on each of the four corners to hold tie-down cords. Others campers are always impressed.

I am a kayak hammock camper. This tarp is large enough to protect me from any weather event. I totally trust the reinforced tie out and have had no problems at all.

I went on hunt to the Kodiak archipelago island of Raspberry for 10 days, actuality turned into 12 days. Upon arriving and getting camp set up in the trees we put 2 hammocks under (2) Noah 12 tarps. Now mind you at the time of arrival it was 53 degrees. For the next 11 nights we endured, temps down to the upper teens, rain, snow and wind gusts to 70MPH, no exaggeration. There were times I thought it would be blown right off. You could hear the wind coming and then rattle the tarps for what seemed minutes. It would subside and then you'd hear another gust coming. Needless to say there was one night that I didn't get much sleep. No doubt it was a bit drafty but not overbearing. In storm mode and closing the doors I hesitated changing anything as to not disturb the setup cause it was there. We were both shocked as both were slightly on a hill and one side did not touch the ground all the way. When we finally broke camp and pulled the stakes I was amazed how easily they came out of the ground but the from the wind. I'm sold!!!

This tarp has multiple uses. I have an A-frame camper and I used the tarp a couple times as an awning--sun and rain shelter. Also used it in a friends backyard for shelter for her son's birthday party--a rain shower came through and several folks were able to take shelter, while still able to enjoy being outside.

I use this tarp for motorcycle camping and car camping to keep my kitchen and sitting areas covered in the event of inclement weather. I also use it for a sunscreen when needed. I have the pole kit for it. Very useful and easy to set up.

I have used this tarp to shelter from sun and rain. The 12' tarp covers a picnic table sized area. It has lots of attachment points that make it easy to rig, and I also have the adjustable pole set to make it really easy. The poles fit conveniently into the bag with my camp chair

Had it up within minutes of arriving to our BWCA campsite - Our trip would have been much different without it. It held up well in rain & winds (20-30 mph) that persisted for about two days.

I?ve only set it up once, but it?s exactly as expected. I intend to use it at the beach and car camping, so the weight is not an issue. The corner pockets for the guy lines are handy.

So many ways to pitch and secure! This tarp is super versatile! We use it over a picnic table at car campgrounds, but you could use it anywhere you need shade or rain protection!

I previously had the 9' version of this tarp which worked well for me when kayak camping in the rain, but wasn't large enough to cover the entire picnic table as our camp site, so I upgraded to the 12'. I've since used it once, on a car-camping trip, and it performed well. I like that it packs down pretty small. I do wish the attached guy wires had reflective strips so that my headlamp would pick them out at night. Best used with some strong, tall poles.

I've owned several Noah's Tarp's over the last 8 years. They get a lot of use and are very durable. I keep buying them because of their performance.

I haven?t used it yet camping but I did set it up in my yard and I love it. So many options with this tarp. I like the built-in cord pockets and carrying bag. This will be great went trying to set up my tent when it?s raining for sure.

Everyone that plays in the elements should have this tarp in their quiver. There have been multiple times on the river where this tarp has kept our crew dry and stood up tho the wind. I’m sure I will find many other situations in the future to use this as well

I have really enjoyed experimenting with this tarp in a base camp setting over the course of the summer. The many guyout points allow for lots of different setup options and the included guylines make it easy to secure the corners. The catenary cuts make it a bit challenging to get the entire tarp taught in certain configurations but I am very happy with the design overall.

This is a very high quality product with great stitching and built in pockets for the guy wires. I would like to see larger and less expensive poles available from Kelty but that does not take away from the tarp itself. Very versatile and can be configured in many ways other than the picture shown.

I was totally impressed by this product!.. I have used it on one trip into the mountains of Colorado. We had our typical strong showers and wind in the afternoon and a need for shade early....This worked perfect!! What I liked: *Durability...It held up to some terrific winds during the storms *Ease of setting up...It has multiple tie points for many different configurations and tie down options *Weight and size...It folds up very compactly and provides a great deal of protection for the weight *It comes with everything you need to secure it once deployed...All you need is a set of poles... ***I think this tarp is a valuable and welcome addition to my camp kit!!!

Worked as expected. I think the poles could be 16 inches taller to provide more headroom in the middle. Also the poles could be made from thicker steel as they seem to bend more than they should. Overall it is a good tarp.
