A wonderful tent to use! Obvious the designers actually use what they design because "it just works" and works well! Quick to setup even in the dark with no light. Well made.

I have not camped yet but set up this tent in the garage with a large-wide cot by Browning and an extra-wide sleeping back from KingCamp. It fits well as the ends of the cot just touch the wall. I will put pads under the feet to protect the tent floor along with a footprint and thick tarp underneath. Ready for the outdoors!

I've had many tents and multiple brands through the years, and the Kelty Late Start 4 is by far my favorite. I've camped in both cool and hot weather, rain and shine, with and without the rain fly. When using the rain fly, the mostly mesh tent allows for plenty of air movement and low condensation on cool nights. On warm nights the tent is amazing without the rain fly, offering superb ventilation and a nice view of the night sky. Set up is an absolute breeze with the quick pole sleeves in the corners, easy pole clips across the top, and the color-coding on both the rain fly and the footprint. I've camped comfortably with three total people. But it really shines as a two person tent with room for gear. I've used it for car camping with two inflatable twin mattresses which allows for an aisle down the middle to the door. However, is light-weight enough to backpack, making it an extremely versatile tent.

I was looking for a tent that I could pack away in our camper and use when we go off roading up in the mountains n such and also as a short distance backpacking tent with our kids. This tent looks like it will fit the bill for all of that. Nice and roomy for 2 adults and 2 kids. It is the usual Kelty quality that I appreciate alongside their other products that we own. Set up and take down is quick and easy. I love the tent stakes that it came with...and the fact that there is enough for every single stake tab and guyline on the tent!!!

This is the best tent I ever owned, I love the quick corners, how light it is, and smooth zippers. You can count on Kelty to provide high quality products at a very reasonable price. I liked it so much when I got home from my first trip, I ordered the two man version for backpacking.

For anyone wondering about the actual weight of the Late Start 4 tent with tent, poles, stakes, rain fly and storage sack. 7lb. 5.6oz. weighed immediately after delivery. Certainly not the advertised 6lb. 14oz. I have yet to use it outdoors but construction and ease of set up is very good. Knocking off one star for misleading weight claim.

After searching for months for the best tent I could take on a 12 day backpacking trip in NM, I settled on the Late Start 1. This tent stood up to altitude winds, cold nights, downpours, and three weeks of setting up a tearing down! This tent is sturdy yet lightweight enough for me to carry (5,4? 125 lbs) for weeks. Set up and tear down is so quick and easy. The pockets are perfectly placed for phone, flashlight, etc. many nights I had to hang clothing to dry inside my tent while it poured rain all night? the extra hooks and mesh canopy were perfect for rigging an indoor clothes line! My adventure was amazing thanks to this tent (and my Kelty coyote backpack, and cosmic down bag)!! I purchased the footprint and am so glad I did. It connects to the tent so I just left it buttoned together when I set up or tore down. Will be getting these tents for my kids next summer?? thanks Kelty!

I purchased this tent this spring. I have had the chance to use it several times, and I have to say it works very well. On the nice clear cooler evenings, I leave the rain fly off, and stare at the stars. It's vented very well, and very sturdy. I would recommend getting the footprint for it. I plan on getting that in the near future. I will do a long term review proba ly next year.

We like the full netting for star gazing and hot nights, but we will be returning it. We can?t make a 4 man tent work with only one entrance. Our old Kelty tent had 2 and we need that convenience since we camp with kids.

I absolutely love this tent! It's super easy to set up. I love how easy it is to put the rain fly on as well (so much easier than my last tent). It kept me dry during a massive thunderstorm and did well in heavy winds. I will never buy another brand of tent again! Thank you, Kelty for making the perfect tent.

I got a 2 person and 4 person tent. Both of them extremely easy and quick to set up. They feel very sturdy and I get the feeling they are going to last a long time.

Good product. Very easy to set up. Light for it's size. I bought it to use on a backpacking trip with two adults and an 11 and 13 year old. Held us all comfortably. Enjoyed being able to leave the fly off and see the stars and stay cool, but the fly kept us dry in the rain too. Nothing negative to say about it.

Picked this tent up for the ventilation to beat the heat of summer camping in North Central Florida. The tent was airy even with the fly on. The screened portion of the walls does go a hair too low, and I could feel a bit of moisture from the rain splashing up between the fly and tent. Not a dealbreaker by any stretch, but something worth noting.

That I could pack light enough, but would be large enough for me and my twin 4 year old boys. It's a little long, but if you strap the poles to the outside, it packs small and light enough to go inside the pack. It's definitely not ultralight, but it's the lightest option I could afford, and the quality is fantastic. I definitely recommend it.

Kelty customer Service was outstanding. The tent is perfect for what we wanted; probably not the best for someone utilizing campgrounds because it’s literally clear net all-around (which is why we bought it). The storm fly works great but allows minimal airflow. It’s built awesome!

Great tent overall but for the price I would expect it to pack down a bit smaller and be a bit lighter. Other than that very solid tent. We get dew here and woke up dry!

This was a great tent! It was very easy to set up on my own in the dark. I also bought the matching footprint. Comfortable, temperature wise. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because the lower sides had some morning condensation. I would recommend this tent!

My first tent I have ever bought for backpacking and it exceeded my expectations. On top of being light and compact, the tent was a breeze to set up. The interior was roomy and was easily able to fit my group of four with our gears. I definitely recommend this.

Fast, easy and waterproof! Just spent a week in it, in the carson national forest. We went through multiple storms and even a hail storm. No problem for the late start 4!
