A nice down/synthetic bag

I bought this for my son for the Appalachian Trail. Him and I did a section for 5 days and there were a couple nights the temps dipped below 32*. Overall the bag performed well. Here are some specifics: Packability/weight- I was considering a 4 star vs the 5 rating I gave based on this category. Compared to other down bags (especially 800) this bag is a bit heavy and doesn't pack down as well. This has to be due to the synthetic insulation used with the down. In the bags defense though it is a fraction of the price. So it's not truly fair to categorize them together. Warmth- 5/5 100%!!! My son can be pretty cold natured. But with him wearing base layers on a properly r-rated pad he was comfortable (maybe even a touch hot in sub 32 temps. Fit- I am 5'10" and 260 pounds and I "could" fit in the bag and sleep. But honestly I prefer quilts over bags anyways. Materials/quality- I love the fabrics used in this bag. It's quieter than most, super soft, and really comfortable. The zipper is good about not snagging, and it lofts very nicely. All in all it's a great bag. No it's not made in America, no it's not all down insulation, but it's also not $500 either. Thus my rating stands at a 5/5.

Cozy

Overall the cosmic is a really nice sleeping bag. It?s light, material is soft and easy to pack. Only complaint is that the zipper would get caught fairly often when trying to zip the bag up from inside.

Soft and Toasty

We bought this bag and the women?s cosmic ultra 20. We just tried them out this weekend and loved them. They are soft and comfortable. They were really toasty. It was around high 30s, low 40s, throughout both nights. These sleeping bags kept us so warm that we even unzipped them some to let in cool air. We?re very happy with them. Would definitely recommend.
