Would by these 10 times if I had to!
Nice boots always liked them since the early 90?s. These have been around since 1974 or maybe earlier. I would definitely give anyone who buys these a green light because this brand is good, and they are still working!

Love them!
I bought these because they reminded me of the first pair of boots I got when I was little. Red laces and all. These are way better quality and a great multi purpose boot. I use them for work, yard work, hiking, and general wear. I love that the dirt doesn't pack in the tread. Well worth the purchase, Ty.

Love at first steps.
This is a well made hiking shoe that stands up well to severe weather. It will keep your feet warm without heavy socks. You may have to re-learn how to tie the laces properly in order to keep the tops securely snug around your ankles. All this and excellent good looks, too. Love at first step.

Good budget boots
I have used these boots for years, and now this is the best price I have found for them. They are comfortable and the waterproofing is good, the only downfall is they don't last long if you use them for heavy duty hiking.

Cheap boots
Pretty good boot for the price. They are what you would expect from a $30 pair of hiking boots. Not uncomfortable but not great. One of the lace eye hooks already starting to pull out but still wearable. Not a great boot but nice for the price

Suitable for the price
The boots arrived super fast! The fit is pretty good though the toe box is a bit big for me. The tongue is a little odd (cheap) but I've worn them to do yard work a couple of times and have been happy with them.

Hi Tec? Not so much.
I’m a long time purchaser of Hi Tec products and, in particular, these boots. I’ve used then thru the years for casual hiking and work boots around the house. They’ve, consistently, run true to size. Unfortunately, I have seen In the last 2-3 years a continual decline in the build quality and the materials. Soles are thinner and have to use insoles to build up padding. Thinner, cheaper tongue. Eyelets pull out, laces get chewed up by sharp edges on eyelets. This will probably be my last pair of Tec’s since value for money just isn’t there. Years ago I could get a year plus out of a pair. Averaging 6 months tops now and they are completely thrashed. Delivery and sales process thru Sunny Sports flawless. Highly recommend!

Hiking boots
Love them in tan with red strings will order a 2nd pair since price drop they are comfortable and feel good to wear everyday in size 13 living in Maryland with all the climate changes from day to day

HiTec Altitude IV Boots
Very well made pair of boots especially for the price, the value is tremendous. Ample toe box, good fit, laces are flat and nice. Arch support is ample but not overpowering, if you don't have an arch these boots won't kill your feet, if you do they will support the arch that you have. Traction is adequate, outers are of a rawhide/suede that should be very durable. Probably wouldn't hurt to put a coating of Snowseal or Nikwax on them to make them a little more moisture resistant.
Shortcomings are that the tongue does not fit that well and is not a continuous part of the boot itself so great care is going to have to be taken when putting them on for them to keep out dirt, rocks and moisture.
The fit is true to specs and they look durable. These are sold at Philmont Scout Ranch for hikers to replace boots that fail on the trail so the quality must be good enough to impress the staff there.
I don't think that I would start a major expedition like the Pacific Crest Trail with them but for short backpacking treks and day hikes they should be adequate, and again the price is very attractive.
