Comfortable, warm, with a little blip.

This pad is quite warm and indeed, sleeping on the side is comfortable as your hip never touches the ground. Very much a comfortable pad with one caveat. Unlike other closed cell foam pads that are accordion-style and therefore nest, this pad has dimples that are so far apart that at times you will feel a cone instead of a surface that is perceived as more uniform. In other words you will have a spot that is noticeable on your body but it is not very uncomfortable at all. I intend to take this pad on the Appalachian Trail because of the durability of closed cell foam, and the fact it is so very comfortable and definitely warmer than the Z rest that I have been using prior to this time.
