I like the big mouth
This bag is easy to overpack, then just fold the sides over and it's a carry-on. It's got really sturdy water resistant material. It's great for the boat!

Great storage and still under 50lbs
We bought this to replace our ll bean rolling duffel that was enormous and would often go over the 50 lbs weight maximum. It was purchased in 2009
Before all of the travel restrictions we have now.
Pros:
This bag is really light! We are a family of four and prefer to check one bag than to carry on anything.
We used this over Presidents' Day and easily fit 4 days worth of clothing in packing cubes for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 11 and 9. Upon or return it weighed about 47lbs!
We didn't fit our shoes though so used a smaller second bag for that. It's also very compact to store whether at home or while on vacation.
Cons:
The duffle handle when rolling is too short for my husband who is 6'1"
So I was the one at 5'6"
Who did the rolling. Maybe we will buy an extension strap or something.
I think the bag seems sturdy but I'm not sure if the material will
Hold up Over the long term. There were scuffs in the outside after our one trip.
I appreciate the size and the weight of this duffel and hope to get years I of use.

Eagle Creek Migrant Wheeled Duffel
I am headed to South America. As You know checked luggage must fit the 62" total measurements & 23 kg (50 pounds) is the total weight weight allowed. And sometimes as low as 18 kg (40 pounds). Most bags weigh close to 10 pounds+ before any clothes are added. Heck a pair of hiker boots weight 3 1/2 pounds! The Migrant Wheeled Duffel weighs only 5 lbs. 6 oz. allowing for plenty of extra clothes. My new choice for overseas travel!

Great bag but some downsides.
The bag is huge and fits plenty of stuff. I like the bag but am disappointed with some things. The zipper pulls broke after the first time fully packing out the bag. I did reach out to customer service and they sent me new zipper pulls but I did have to pay for shipping. Another negative is I have checked the bag on only one flight so far and have multiple small tears/holes in the bag. This will certainly affect its watertight integrity, which was a large factor in purchasing this bag. I travel very often via all modes of transportation plane/helicopter/boats, working in the offshore oilfield. I feel it may not hold up very long with extended hard-core use based of my experiences so far. I will however use the bag until it is no longer feasible, so hopefully it lasts. I did buy various packing cubes from eagle creek and all of those are excellent.

It was okay. A weakness
It was okay. A weakness by design is that it's not very rigid when using as a roller bag. So in order drag it along with its wheels it needs to nearly be completely stuffed. This could be remedied if it had a stiff, lightweight, removable internal frame.
It would also be easier if it had some kind of tow strap that can be attached to the handle for tall people since the bag need to hang down a fair distance so the wheels stay balanced on the pavement.

Bought 3 for college drop
Bought 3 for college drop off! Love the light weight yet large capacity. Fold up quite small for easy storage also? wheels works well for rolling thru airport

Love this bag!!
Truly a phenomenal bag!! It held all my kids gear for a month of sleepaway camp, which was a ton of stuff. Love the backpack straps. All around great bag!!

Really good if you don't mostly don't want a wheel bag.
We bought these as a family for a trip through Peru. Needed bags for a boat that would crush down flat. These bags hold an amazing amount of stuff. The straps wrap up tight to hold everything in place. Whilst you get the bonus of not having a handle, they are very awkward to roll. Particularly if you are taller than 5 foot! The backpack function worked well for my husband (6'2") -- my daughter and I just struggled through the wheeling as we both had carry-on backpacks.

The handle is slightly annoying for long walks since you have to hold it slightly away from your body to keep it from hitting your leg when you walk, but manageable, and If I'm flying I check a bag that large anyway. The backpack straps came in handy when going up stairs but it is heavy due to how large the bag is.....A large bag for longer trips and that means more stuff. The expansion is nice. Packing cubes are necessary to keep things from gathering at the bottom of the bag since it doesn't retain shape, but that's also why I like it, it demands organization.

Light, with a large capacity, but awkward to roll
It's pretty sturdy for hauling things like ski equipment, while being light enough for easily maneuvering on/off trains and busses. Material is great for repelling water. I don't know how it will hold up though, as we drag our luggage through a lot of places and the material might show abrasion soon.
I love that it doesn't take up space in the closet when collapsed.
The main downside is that it's awkward to roll, because using the handle doesn't give sufficient height and distance between the person and the bag. It works, but just not as fast or comfortable as with a bad that has an extendable/retractable handle. It's probably an OK trade-off to make for the weight difference.

Love this bag!
Perfect bag for checking on flights. Spacious, durable, and love that it is water resistant. Used it for a weeklong camping trip to Virgin Islands. Packed camping gear in and then rolled it up out of the way while not in use. Washed it out and hung dry when arrived home, looks brand new. Easy to pull along but would sometimes twist out of my hand. It was packed really full and I was also being clumsy. I would never use this size bag (it's huge) with the backpack shoulder harness, so unnecessary extra weight/materials. Other than that, it's PERFECT! I would buy again, and recommend to others!

Lots of space!
Excellent duffel for recent ski trip. It's lightweight so we could pack more in it than normal rolling luggage and it still weighed less than 50 lbs for checking without paying extra. Make sure to put heavier items near the wheels so it's easier to roll.

Bag is large and tough
I like the look of the bag and the material appears very sturdy. The bag is a good size, but I wish there was an even larger one. I bought it to transport my backpack and equipment in when I fly. I had a Jansport roller duffel for years that my full backpack, boots and other accessories fit in. Unfortunately, one of the wheels finally broke and was not replacable, and they no longer make that bag. I have not been able to find the equivalent size bag anywhere else, but my friend had this bag on our last trip and it looked to be the best substitute I can find. Will give it a try.

Bought this for my son. He took it on a ski trip and said it was excellent for 5 days worth of clothing. Very durable and the backpack straps made it easy to carry.
