I really do like the bag, but I wish there was a way to remove the backpack straps if not anticipating needing them for a trip as it would allow additional space for packing. Construction is very rugged and love the zippers!

Very happy with my purchase! I just took a 7 day trip to Arizona with my wife. The bag was solid, as expected. You can tell the bag is made with top notch, quality materials that will last 10-15 years. I packed the bag to the brim. I tested the zipper strength, how tightly compacted I could fit clothing items, and if it looked like it would burst open or if it stayed strong. It passed the test with flying colors. I would recommend the bag to anyone!

Ok, had for a while now. . . around the world. . at least once. Overall. . a great bag. well made. . what the previous said about the cinch straps are correct. . . and the "squareness" of packing - many pockets to put stuff in. . I have the convertible. . and although rarely used. . . when needed it is a life saver. . . was in the Bangkok earthquake this year. . . strapped it on my back to hike down 22 floors. . . but as a carry on. . it is not as much the volume nowadays'; but the weight. . . airlines all different. . .

This bag is plenty deep enough to carry what you pack. The zippers and snaps are sturdy and so are the wheels! I love that you can switch it to a backpack for those special situations. The only drawback is there aren't more dividers and zippered sections for organizing like items within the main compartment. Overall, I highly recommend it as a carry on!

I have an old Gear Warrior--purchased in 2018--that has been on tons of trips with me and is still going strong. The pull up handle on mine is a one stick version, I had some questions for customer service about it holding the weight of a loaded backpack, and they were so helpful. If I ever need a new bag, this is what I will purchase based on my experiences. The wheels on my old bag are exceptional even on cobblestones. I cannot say enough about this company. I am including a photo of my wonderful, old bag--it will be going to Italy with me in a couple of weeks.

I originally bought an Eagle Creek two wheel duffle that didn't work for my type of travel and age; EC was kind enough to give me credit toward a different bag, and I couldn't be happier with my four wheeled spinner carry-on. I just returned from 3 weeks in Italy and it was perfect for me; it has a ton of space and is nicely organized with nifty compartments and zippered spaces. Pleased overall but interior could be much better designed. A plastic lined interior is a must but not there. Also the four zip pouches only have one way zippers which is confusing and not efficient. Exterior is good and love the exterior zipped pouches only. Also probably made a mistake buying the light green. After a four week trip to Europe it's very dirty and soiled, especially the exterior pouch. Buy a dark color that won't show soil so readily!

The Gear is a very good bag. Unfortunately it was not exactly the trip requirements for the safari. I felt the light color would get dirty and be hard to clean. The design is good for a few days on the road. I'm going to buy the larger version in a different color

Just got back from Italy with its first use and I am very satisfied. The backpack function was particularly useful when dealing with cobble roads in Europe. The bag is built solidly. Would be nice if the weight is trimmed off a little. A 4-wheel design will certainly work better thru narrow passages, which is something to consider for future upgrades.

The bag is extremely durable and well made. The pockets and storage space are well thought out and functional. However, the main/front opening is too small (it doesn't span the entire side,) this results in the zipper being pulled at at an angle making it very difficult to close when full. In addition the cinch straps don't really compress the bag due to the combination of overall stiffsides and the oddly small front opening.

Took this carry-on on a long weekend trip to San Miguel de Allende. I ended up doing way more shopping that I intended but was still able to fit everything for the trip home thankfully. LOVE the expandable front pocket - fits more than I thought! Had a stretches of gravel commuting to the airport and the wheels did surprising well.

I've only used this pack once but can tell that it will be my go to for all future trips. It is big enough to pack a weeks worth of clothes yet small enough to use as a carry on bag. It will be my exclusive for weekends at the cabin.

Bought the Blue Jay Tarmac and took on a 2-week Europe trip - the bag was great! Packs efficiently and wheels are super smooth. The front expansion panel is unique and provides additional packing space and easy-access organization. Traveled on planes, trains, and automobiles across 3 countries - bag fit in all overhead bins, rolled easily on cobbles/sidewalks, and no concerns about durability of the hardshell or handle system. This bag held all of my family of 4's stuff for a weeklong summer vacation. It was surprisingly lightweight given its size and rolled easy breezy through the airport. Love that flexible front pocket to stuff last minute finds in without having to open pandora's box :)

I used this bag as my primary luggage for a week long trip all around NYC. I was on and off public transport, in two airports and rolling my bag through the streets of Manhattan during my trip since I stayed at several different lodging accommodations. It did GREAT! The wheels are so smooth, the trolley handle feels durable and it honestly fit so much ( I packed it to the max and still managed to fit in some extra goodies on my way home). I'd highly recommend this bag, plus it looks cool.

I've been using the Tarmac Carry-On as my primary bag and it has been amazing. It's easy to pack, and holds so much. The front pocket is perfect for my Mac and iPad. This bag is great!

I've only taken it on 2 domestic trips so far, but it's been great! It has all the features I need for my style of travel and It's clearly built to last. I'll be putting it to the test over a 6 month backpacking trip through Southeast Asia and I'm confident it will have no problem living up to the fast travel I enjoy.
