Just took them for a hike
Received my lovely women?s 2650's yesterday and had them up our local hill this morning. The fit is great, I?m a size 8, but I?m definitely more comfortable in them in a lighter sock; was a tighter feel with thicker socks on for sure. Good traction hiking up a fairly rocky, uneven surfaced dirt trail and quite comfortable coming back down to asphalt. Love the look and color (red for me). My first pair of Danners; very happy they made them low cut and light like this. Fits my activity profile

Working with the leaders in high performance soling Danner looked to Vibram's 460 outsole with deep, multi-directional lugs for confidence-inspiring grip in a wide variety of terrain. Couple this with Vibram's legendary Megagrip rubber compound for enhanced traction in every step, whether wet or dry.
Breathe easy
When your day's plan calls for moving far and fast, you want to stay cool. Breathable gear is key, and footwear is no exception. The new Trail 2650 uses a mesh liner to keep air moving and is lightly padded for additional comfort. Strategic perforations in the leather upper aid airflow when you're on the move. With cool feet, you can focus on the day's hike without distraction.
Innovative Comfort
Stability is key. If your foot isn't secure, you increase opportunity for slippage and blisters. Preventing that from happening is the job of a heel counter - traditionally a rigid component inside your boot. While this method is effective at locking your heel in place, Danner knew they could do better.
For the Trail 2650, they took the bold step of shifting the heel counter to the outside of the shoe. By using a softer material and moving it away from your foot, Danner's EXO Heel System provides a secure fit and increased comfort. In addition, Danner developed a new last with 8mm of heel drop and a wider forefoot for greater stability. Small changes for a big difference.
No need to compromise
For the Trail 2650, Danner wanted to bring you a lightweight option that still adheres to Danner's strict durability benchmarks. This meant looking to lightweight materials that could withstand the demands of the trail. They used an ultra-lightweight EVA foam midsole to provide the cushioning you need while minimizing weight. The midsole is formed around a TPU shank that guards your foot in uncertain terrain and provides torsional strength for stability. This process maximizes weight savings while maintaining protection, stability and durability. They wouldn't have it any other way.
