The bag is great, but there are extra Velcro pads that seem to go nowhere. Just a better video or instructions on exactly the most efficient way to pack the bike would be helpful from the engineers who designed this bag. Would save time and also know you're doing it 100% correctly. It's definitely a good bag once you get it dialed.

Bought this back because it was several pounds lighter than the bag I was comparing it to which makes a big difference if you're trying to get it under 50lbs with the bike in it. The bag includes plenty of padding for the bike and it's parts and makes it very intuitive to pack the bike and secure it in place, including padding in the wheel bags for the rotors and padded bag for the derailleur. Very happy with this purchase.

I travel a lot with my mountain bike for work, probably 10-12 trips a year. This is the second travel bag that I have owned and it fits my Trek Top Fuel size large easily with room for extra coaching materials as well. I can pack all of my extra cones, supplies, and tools in the bag so I don't have to bring them in my carry on luggage. The bag design makes packing and unpacking very easy and super fast. I have only packed and unpacked the bag twice, but it is so much fast than my previous Thule travel bag. The material appears that it will hold up to the abuse that comes with traveling. The bike was secured well except for the handle bars, where I added one extra strap to keep the bars from wiggling around too much. This is a small add considering I used to wrap and double strap everything with my previous bag. The color coding of the clips make packing super easy. At this point, I would recommend this bag for anyone looking for a MTB travel bag. If I have any issues I will update the review in the future.

First off, this is the only mountain bike travel bag that allows for a modern trail/endure bike + bag to be under 50 lbs, so I can travel with my bike for free on Delta flights. The bag is super confidence-inspiring and I have never had any issues transporting my carbon Ripmo. I did have an incident where one of the straps on the bag separated from its attachment point and Dakine took care of the issue. I will be recommending Dakine products in general to anyone who will listen.

This is my first bike bag I've owned but I've used several before. This bag fits my size small 29" FS MTB great. I do have to let the air out of the tires to get the wheels in but that's simple. The frame is secure, lots of great buckets to hold it in place. Lots of extra pouches for tools and pedals etc too. My only complaint is the method for holding the handlebar isn't great. I end up having to use a knee pad to help secure the bar and keep it off my frame. Otherwise it's great and perfectly functional.

Do you like to go on bike trips away from home? This bag let's you take your bag as luggage and Dakine has great videos about dismantling and packing your bike. One extended trip and the bag will pay for itself plus you get to ride your own bike rather than a rental.

I travel all the time from California to Chile and always bring my mountain bike with me. This is the bag I use and I have never had any problems. Bike arrives in great condition even with many plane changes. It is also easy to move around (I'm 5'1" and never an issue). I pack it all myself - super easy. This bag is amazing!

Great value over all after researching and trying out bags on loan. Disappointed the 29ers don't fit great after Dakine clearly lists this as a bag which fits 29ers. It works just not ideally. 27.5 no issue at all.

I have been borrowing my friend's Dakine bike roller bag for the past 3 years for annual winter trips to mountain bike the trails of southern Baja. I finally got around to purchasing my own! It is very easy to pack and seems more protective than the bag another friend uses. Dakine's bag has better padding and has more protective wheel sleeves. The last trip, my bike was at a bottom of a pile of oversize luggage at baggage claim and survived just fine. I have a small carbon full suspension Knolly (about 33 lbs, heavy DVO front suspension). I max out the weight limit and often go a few pounds over 50 lbs when including a few other bike items (pack, helmet, etc), but Alaska Airlines doesn't ding me. The pack pulls along nicely with the rear wheels, though I sometimes wish it had wheels that could be attached in the front as well to help us little people out. It starts to get a bit heavy if you have to wheel it very far. I highly recommend this bag!

Bought one of these before my first trip to Whistler. I ended up using it for my wife's bike because my downhill bike would have pushed it over the weight limit, so I used a heavier borrowed bag (evoc pro) for the downhill bike since I was going over the weight limit anyway. It held up nicely and everything arrived safely. It held a 2022 Juliana Roubion, poc full face helmet, and Leatt air flex. It clocked in at 53lbs at the airport and they let it slide for the 50lb weight requirement. It would've been under 50 had we not packed the extra items in there. I'll probably buy another one of these for my bike as well for future trips.

External material hold ups to stress of baggage claims and transport . Interior needs some stronger material and padding . Bike teeth will snag on the material and rip the lining. For carbon fiber bikes it's recommended to wrap the frame in some type of thin protective material . Good bag overall :)

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other bags, but it has everything you need at a good price. The build seems sturdy, the padding should protect the bike well and the straps are color coded to make packing easy. One advantage of the simple design is that it is lighter than most other bags, which means you can put heavier bike/gear in it and stay under the airline weight limit.

I have had this bag for about a year now and within that year it has taken about 20 plane rides all over the country hauling my full suspension trail bike. I am able to fit my carbon fiber bike, helmet, shoes, and water bottle in the bag and keep it under Delta's 50lb check bag weight. Packing the bike up takes 10-15 minutes due to the easy to understand color matching straps and labels. I haven't had any damage to my bike the bag could have prevented. The only issue I have seen is that the straps are riveted into the bag and they pull out easy. This happened to me within the first few trips but Dakine has yet to respond to any warranty claims. My only idea is to re-rivet my own "new" straps. However, even with a couple missing straps the bag holds the bike in firmly. I think the bag is 100% worth the price for the weight and durability.

I've used this bag successfully on two round-trip domestic flights with my size-medium enduro mountain bike. The bag is smart and well-made. I was able to pack my bike plus some extra tools, etc., and still get in under the 50-pound airline weight limit.

Had the bag shipped to a friends in the PNW and returned with my bike using the Dakine bike bag and everything went super well. Pivot XL Trail 429 and bag @ 47.5 pounds, did not remove rotors, Had no issues whatsoever when I built the bike back up on the east coast, with two layovers and plane changes (Phoenix & Charlotte) before arriving in NE.
