I like that it fits my phone on the side of the waist strap so that I can get it out without having to take the whole thing off.

Love it. It's a good size and fits what I need. Easy access to the gummies while on my run in the waist pockets.

I absolutely love this vest. I use it to play pickle ball and I never have to leave the court for a water break. Fantastic! It really ups my game.

I use this pack for running, long walks, and hiking. I absolutely love it! My only issue so far has been that the reservoir sometimes comes unattached from the loop on the inside of the pack that holds it up, but there are two hooks on the reservoir (one left, one right) and hooking onto the pack's loop on the left side instead of the right has stopped this problem. If you have a similar experience, play around with it to see what works best for you. The pack comfortably fits all of my essentials in the hip pockets, and has enough room in the main compartment for me to be able to shed a layer and not have to awkwardly carry a jumper/jacket for the rest of my run. It is easy to adjust even with gloves on and always fits snug against my back with no discomfort. It has a mesh section in the main compartment which is great for fitting a phone or anything else that could potentially bounce around. Would highly recommend!

I used this hydration pack on a half marathon and it felt great on. The fit is good and doesn't bounce around.

I love this pack. it is a great size for mountain biking with plenty of room for snacks and even a light weight jacket. I would love for one of the front pockets to be big enough for my plus size iPhone. Otherwise this is a Stella hydration pack.

I have had several camelback maximum gear units. The chem bio reservoirs all leaked because the bags appear to long for the outer shells, creating a unnecessary fold that kinks every reservoir every time and causes a tear. Camelback would not make right. Now I received a Octane XCT and after a few 5 mile runs it too is leaking ref a pinhole just below where the tube enters the reservoir.

I have been using my Octane pack for trail running for a year now. Distances ranges from 8km to 22km. My mom brought this pack for me from Canada and even though it was the wrong one, I am happy I got this one. The pack is light enough to not bother me, and having a few extra grams compared to other brand's running vests like Salomon, UD etc won't kill you. Camelbak's build quality is great and made to last. Maybe that's where the extra few grams goes to and is well worth it. Camelbak's price range is also really good. I will be running the Addo 44km trail run with it soon and it fits everything I need for the race's checklist. It is a tight fit when full, but that is fine. The chest straps loosen a bit when I run but I just tighten it again. You can always just make a plan to prevent that. So it is a minor con which can easily change into a pro. (Maybe some drops of glue that hardens into a ball on the strap will help). The pack does bounce a bit but is also not such a bother. That causes a little bit of chaffing/scratching on my shoulders, but it wouldn't if I keep it tighter. On the one hand, the pockets at the front top of the vest would be nicer if it had velco or a zip to close it, but on the other hand it is also handy for quickly stashing and taking out my dog's leash and pepperspray. The front side pockets have more space in it than it may seem and I stash a variety of things in there so that I don't need to pack it in the back. If you are running a longer distance, or entering a strict race where they want a million things in the pack, you should consider the Ultra 10 rather I would say. I am looking into it and will probably buy one if I enter a longer race this year. Enjoy the run, keep safe, God bless!

I bought this pack with trail running in mind. I needed a capacity bladder to last for 3 hrs out on the trail. I also needed pockets that can hold fuel and are easily accessible. My 1st. run with the XCT pack was a fine tune adjustment of the straps. I 'pre-adjusted' the straps before going out. Once out, I needed to adjust the waist strap for my waist size. Once everything was adjusted it stayed where i put it. Accessing the side pockets while running was a bit tough. The way it sits on your waist has the zippers going across your side , almost to your back. Also the taper of the pocket size ( small in front, big in the rear makes you have to push your items towards your back when fitting it back into the side pouch. The bladder was very easy to fill and install the pack. The routing of the tube over your shoulder is simple enough. There are 2 loops to snake it through. Then there is a plastic 'clamp' to keep the hose from freely bouncing around. So, how does it work? I would say excellent. Its easy to set up the straps. The bladder is easy to fill and install. Nothing leaks ! ( always good) The big bite valve works great. The pack feels light on your shoulders/back while running. Plenty of storage in the back zippered pocket. The pack cleans up easily in soapy water in the sink. A couple of things I had trouble with. When taking a gulp of water you need to 'prime the hose' to get water. If you bite it while drinking, the water drains back into the resivour. Next sip is 'priming the hose' again ( getting water up to the mouth piece). Maybe some sort of 1 way valve in the hose to prevent flow back ? The side pockets are awkward to un zip and re stash your stuff in while moving. ( it could be my technique ?) So overall I am very happy with the pack. It does everything I need it to do. I never stored enough things to capacity yet, so plenty of room in it. A great pack for under the 3-4 hour hike time. Tom

Not as compact as some, but if you're looking for a hiking or long distance trail running pack to load up with 'just in case' gear, this guy works great. Big enough to fit a light jacket, hat, gloves, snacks and over 2 liters of hydration. The chest strap moves up and down to accommodate most, and the waist belt is nice to relieve your shoulders and back and distribute a bit more weight to your hips.

I’ve already used this several times and it works very well. Much better than the cheaper versions that are currently available. No issues with getting adequate hydration while running. Also, nothing rubs while running. You get what you pay for and this product is excellent.

I have logged nearly 100 miles, mostly runs in excess of 20 miles, on my Camelbak Octane XCT thus far. The bladder holds more water and is easier to access than what I can carry in water bottles. The front pockets on the belt and shoulder straps allow for greater storage and ease of access to real food. I am no longer restricted to gels. Because of the Octane XCT, I drink and eat more and more often which I believe has helped to increase my VO2 max endurance. I feel much stronger at the end of my long runs because I am getting the proper hydration and nutrition. I was a little concerned about maintenance and keeping the bladder free of mold but have not encountered any concerns. The build quality appears top-notch. I hope to use my Octane XCT for years to come. It’s the right size, fit and quality for me and has served me well.

I love this backpack. I chose this model because I needed a very lightweight option. This product works great. It helps keep me hydrated when I work long hours outside in the heat. My current pack has lasted me over three years and still going strong. The pouch is the perfect size for a cell phone+wallet+snack. Even though this product is "unisex", the straps do not fit correctly on my body. It is very obviously designed for a more masculine form. While the fit isn't great, I am used to outdoorswear not being accommodating to all body types, and this product gets the job done and is so handy I have recommended it to all my lady friends despite the ill fit. (I have not tried camelbak women-specific products. Unisex was the only option the brick and mortar store in my area had.

I bought this backpack almost 1 month ago to use it for trail and long runs. For me this is what l want and need in a backpack. I like the size, colors and design. It is stable and light weight as well. It was really useful, practical and I used every compartment. I chose it over the smallar design backpacks becase it has 2 extra compartments on the lower belt on the right and left side. Which I used one for the portable mobile charger and the other for bars abd sbacks. I didn't need a larger size nor more pockets or compartments as well. The water comportment was more than enough for me. I could go with a smaller size. The only thing I didn't like is the sound of the water in the water compartment when it is half full. It makes a splashing sounds when I run. If I am running in a public place it brought attention to surrounding people. Other than that it is the perfect backpack for me.

I bought this for my son who's training to be a marine. Although he absolutely loves it the only draw back is the pac rides up. The buckles are buckled and tightened but rides up his chest wall
