Bought this for a 20 mile day hike. The pack itself fit comfortably. I like that you can adjust the front 2 clasps up and down for an even more precise fit. Since the website did not say which size bottle would fit in the front pouches, I ordered the middle one. It fit, but I think the other ones might too. I only bought one and put my cell phone on the other side. It was too large for the cell phone pocket, but fit in the pouch. I had to fill up my water once on the hike so a full bladder and the front water pouch will not get you through 20 miles in August. The pockets are a good size. I fit a raincoat, extra socks, and a couple snacks. It was quite full at that point.

Can attest that this pack fits on a large chest. (I'm 5"4', 140lb, and large-chested; not the typical runner build.) Took it out for 8 today, but plan to use for longer trail runs moving forward. I can't say enough about the lack of bounce while running; I've never had a pack fit so well. The two front straps (the lower one is elastic) are clutch. I've worn a VERY old, smaller, second-hand Camelbak for hydration for forever and I did not know what I was missing with the women's fit. Plus the large front pockets are killer for a cell phone, gu's, extra fluid, whatever. I just kept my phone in one of the front pockets for this run, and because of the depth and shape of the pockets I had no concerns about my phone staying secure but also could grab it easily for pictures and music. Nice to have the capacity in the back for an extra layer or bigger snacks, too. Feeling inspired to literally run some errands with this baby. Should also be great for long day hikes or bike rides. 2L bladder is kind of a lot for me in the winter, but will come in handy for long runs in the summer. (When I need less fluid, I just fill the bladder part way and squeeze the air out of the hose to avoid sloshing.)

I was hesitant to purchase because of the price but it was most definitely worth it!! Biking and hiking is so much easier now :)

I bought this because the previous women's CamelBak I'd had for around 20 years (yup!!) was getting a bit grungy looking. Impressed with the durability of my old CamelBak, and set on buying a hydration pack designed for a women's physique (usually, narrower shoulders and a shorter torso) I decided to buy another CamelBak. The Octane 9 meets all my needs (day hikes and mountain biking). I love the fact that is securely holds my hiking poles when I don't need them, and the number of pockets helps me find things quickly - - especially my XL size cell phone, which easily fits in the pockets on either sides of the straps in the front, which makes it easy to snap photos along the way. My boyfriend (who already owned several hydration packs) liked my new Octane 9 so much that he just bought the Octane 10 for himself!

I wanted to wait until I had used this awhile to review it. I have taken this on runs as short as a mile and a half and as long as a half marathon. I love it. The bag is easy to fill and doesn’t have any weird plastic smell. The mouthpiece is easy to use and get in/out of the clasp. Now I find this incredibly comfortable with the chest straps, though I am not heavy chested so that could be a comfort factor for larger chests. I didn’t have any chafing from the arm straps or shifting. The excess cording of the chest straps to adjust is quite long and sometimes taps me on the butt, but it doesn’t really bother me. There is definitely sloshing noise but I listen to music so that doesn’t disturb me in the least. Pockets are plentiful and perfectly sized and placed. The size of the bladder is good, lasted me through almost my entire half marathon, think I ran out of water on mile 12, so you might want a bigger bladder if you’re doing a full...I dehydrate very easily so I may drink more water than the average runner. Overall I absolutely love this and would recommend it.

This pack is perfect for day hiking. I am a petite woman about 5'2" tall and the pack fits great and is very comfortable. Lots of pockets and storage area large enough to hold a light weight jacket. Hydration pouch is easy to remove and refill.

Love the angled mouthpiece, the lightweight and breathable design, and the capacity for the things I need on my hikes. I also love that it has room in the front for my cell phone and water bottles if I need to bring more water for the long haul. Did I mention the colors are great, too? Overall, super happy with the Octane.

I was worried this vest/ backpack would not fit due to my build. I’m 5”3 and 190 lbs (top heavy. Did great. I love the fact I don’t have to stop in order to grab the cap stix out of my bag. The pockets in front are great. There is so much room in this bag. Love the water mechanism. Quality bag.

Love it. Only wish the open pouch on the back had an elastic to tighten it.

I spent hours at a store trying on different possible backpacks for my run commute to the office, ended up getting this and super happy about it. Very convenient pockets in front for phone, keys, small waterbottle and backside fits makeups, clothes to change and my wallet.

I bought this a month ago and I've been on a few runs with it now. It has lots of storage. Plenty of space if you like to take a bit with you. As someone who's a 36E, I'm a bit bigger in the chest area. Packs with thin straps just do not work for me. The wide vest-style straps in this fit great, and the pack has plenty of adjustability to tighten it down in the right position. It does not shift around or flop at all. The mesh in the straps means I don't overheat under them, and have had zero chafing issues. It's a well-designed and versatile pack.

Designed just for women, the harness allows your gear placement to be customized with the use of upper and lower pockets so you can carry your water and fuel where it's most comfortable.
The stretch overflow on the back is perfect for a rain shell or extra layers while attachment points allow you to secure trekking poles, or additional gear. For trail runs, hiking, or run commuting to the office, the Octane 9 has you covered.
