Have always depended on camelbak The new mule doesn?t disappoint

The pack itself is strong and durable. It is large enough to carry most all your needs for a short day hike, or an urban walk around town. The fit and function of the bladder is very convenient, easy to refill, and easy to drain. I am a 5' 8" muscular built male, the straps are very comfortable and i have a wide range of adjustment from loose to snug depending on the activity. I recommend the MULE 150%

Bought this from Colorado Cyclist. There are several things that camelbak got wrong with this version of the MULE based on my previous two versions owned. 1. Bite tube angle no longer 90 degrees which forces me to bend the tube to drink water. Also makes it impossible to ride with bite tube in my mouth like I could with 90 degree angle elbow (of course they?re not compatible) so I can?t just swap. 2. External pocket for wallet, phone and keys gone. The old MULE has an external pocket that had spots to slide my wallet and phone into plus a lanyard for my keys. New location is a hassle to get at. 3. Bladder cap hinges up which makes it difficult to fill under the fridge I?ve and water dispenser. I?ll have to live with it for now but it really bothers me. Other than that it?s very comfortable.

I do a lot of endurance riding, and during COVID I've tried to be 100% self sufficient on 100 mi rides. This pack + 2 water bottles has been enough to bring plenty of calories, a little extra gear for weather changes and anything else I need to keep the bike rolling. It has lots of pockets for keeping things organized. My only suggestions for how it could be better: 1) it's not waterproof, or close to it. Anything that needs to stay dry in ugly weather should be in a ziplock bag. It's not advertised to be,, but worth being aware of. 2) That little clip to hold the water bottle is a nuisance, but also completely ignorable. I gave up on it a long time ago and never looked back, nor has it caused any hardship. 3) The waist strap is wasted weight. Remove & discard (or tuck away in the back of a drawer until you forget what it went with). I say this after having bounced it around on black diamond mountain runs. Shoulder and chest strap provide ample stability and the back is well balanced regardless of how full / empty it is. My most recent ride involved 10,000 ft of elevation change, and I was just able to stuff a thermal jersey, some leggings, gloves, and a light rainshell for the cold, wet summit along with all the usuals. The small pockets up top are a thoughtful and super-helpful touch. I don't think I could do two days comfortably on this pack, but for a day trip it should suffice for just about anything. I have about 2-3k miles of riding on it, and it shows no signs of wear yet.

This is my 2nd Mule. First one lasted 20 years so was time to replace it. The pockets in this version give plenty of room for tools, pump, tube & lunch for a full day ride. I like the wide mouth bladder which makes it easy to fill.

Bought this for a multi-day mtn bike ride in UT. Haven't had a new hydration pack in several years, and this one worked great. Just the right amount of storage, enough small secure pockets for things like wallet/keys, and handy external stash pocket for things like bike gloves, sunglasses. Bladder easy to fill and use. Only issue I had was the drink nozzle slid right off in my mouth while taking a drink. Managed to slide it on more securely and never happened again. Not cheap, but highly recommend.

Arrived in a timely manner, first time I went to use it to retainer for the cap came off. Second time I went to use it the retainer for the cap got stuck in the thread so it leaked all over. Also didn't come with any directions as far as cleaning I'm keeping it sanitized

It's a solid item. The top zipper for the bladder only zips one way. Would be better if it zipped with two zippers like the other pockets.

I purchased my M.U.L.E. in 2000...and I'm still using it. I've replaced the bite valve several times over the decades and installed a Hydrolock, but other than that, there's no issues with the pack; Its the perfect size. Its not big enough to allow me to "overpack", so I'm never weighted down. I have another camelback (stealth) which I got just before the M.U.L.E., and its been with me to 7 countries on 5 continents. These have been some of the best gear I could ever invest in.

I bought one of these 5 years ago and still use it every day but a few tears starting appearing (from super rough use and abuse, nothing to do with construction or build quality) I decided to get another one. Still feel the same way, It the perfect size for everyday carrying and on the go but also has a large water bag so no need to carry water bottles everywhere. I use it for walks, longboarding, snowboarding, and OneWheeling and it does the job perfectly. Look no further if you need an everyday go-bag.

I like that it feels like your not lugging water on your back. The pulling of the water through the hose is better than the others. You can easily draw the water out quickly and get a drink.

I’m definitely a Camelback fan I’ve owned three Camelback mules. The first two are still in use by my two children. This one however is wearing prematurely. The mesh backing is wearing on my waist band. A little design change and this Mule would be lasting for years longer.

This is my first Camelbak product. I bought it to use as day pack for hiking in the Arizona heat. This held the 3L water reservoir, as well a 2L reservoir, and some extra equipment/snacks. Obviously holds even more without the extra 2L. The pockets for organization were great since this was also used as my carry-on on the plane. There are a couple things I don't like about the bag. The side release buckles get caught and don't always buckle properly, and the hook on the inside for the reservoir is probably not the best design they could have used. These aren't major issues, but enough to keep this from getting 5 stars.

This is my second CamekBak. I just retired my 15 year old MULE. The innovation with the different bladders continues to amaze me. This pack hits all of the marks in quality, value and reputation.

Ive used Camelbaks since the last century and Ive always liked them. I replaced the bite valve with a different brand however because I prefer to have a cover over the place im sticking my mouth. other than that, great product

This is my second Mule. I still have the original from when it first came out. These are a perfect size backpack for hiking and mountain biking, plus I love the large reservoir, I never run out of water.

Had this for a month, use only for MTB. Lots of space for tools and other gear. Would have been a 5 star but the clips that access to tool part and are used to hang the helmet are a different design that usual, they misclip sometimes which is annoying. No big deal, other than that it's great.

I've been wanting CamelBak hydration backpacks for the longest time and finaly decided to pull the plug. It does what it is design to do. It's a little tight on the shoulder, but some more strap adjusting should fix it. I'm the new designated carry all keys and wallets with this back pack along bike rides.

An updated classic, designed for max stability on technical terrain. The M.U.L.E. bike pack combines 12 liters total storage with a 3-liter Crux reservoir with Quicklink. The Air Director back panel and ventilated harness keep you cool and comfortable, while the removeable stability belt offers another layer of customized fit. An integrated tool roll, secure zip pockets, and exterior helmet carry serve up versatility and organization. Partially made with post-consumer recycled materials.
