I have been using pro shock more than 12 years, but one of part was vented. I bought two pole , one for part replacement, the other one for my daughter. Replacement was perfect fit. I loved black diamonds pole. I am a leader of hiking group, always recommend those poles instead of cheap weaker ones

These worked well on my recent backpacking trip. I do struggle with the FlickLock - it is hard to open and close, but I think I can adjust how tight they are.

First hike went off without a hitch. Hot day. No rubbing or blisters. Foam grips stayed dry with wet hands. Look forward to many more uses.

I took these out on a super short hike after work and I love the color and overall functionality of the poles. These were an upgrade from my mountain smiths. It did take me some time to get the poles adjusted and I'm still getting it set to just right. Other than that small issue (user error), I love them.

Let me start by saying I never write reviews. But after what happened last weekend, I figured these poles earned one. I picked up the Black Diamond Trail Trekking Poles a couple of months ago after my old pair finally bit the dust. I didn't think too hard about it-just needed something lightweight, collapsible, and reliable for backpacking. I've used them on a few training hikes around northern Utah, but nothing major? until this past weekend. My buddy and I were deep in the Wind River Range doing a 4-day loop. On day two, we got caught in an unexpected storm while crossing a sketchy ridgeline between Indian Pass and Titcomb Basin. Wind was howling, rain turned to sleet, and the rock got slick. At one point, the trail completely vanished, and we were basically scrambling across boulders with full packs, trying to keep our footing. These poles were the only thing that kept me from eating granite multiple times. They're light enough that they didn't slow me down on the climb, but solid when I really needed to lean into them. The flick locks didn't slip once-even after getting soaked-and the carbide tips bit into wet rock way better than I expected. What really blew me away was how stable I felt while sidehilling across loose scree at 11,500 feet. I'm not the most graceful hiker (my trail name is "Tripwire"), but I stayed upright the entire time. No rolled ankles. No falls. Just a ton of confidence in each step. I genuinely think I would've bailed on the route if I hadn't had these with me. Zero regrets on this purchase. If you're on the fence, don't be. These are the real deal.

When you need to be ready for anything and can afford a few extra ounces this is definitely the way to go. [And at 200 lbs an extra ounce or two is a silly worry!]

These trekking poles are lightweight and durable. The quick lock adjustments ensure that they stay locked in place even over the roughest terrain, mile after mile?

I'm very pleased with these trekking poles. Especially picking them up on a very good sale makes the situation even sweeter. I had a hard time deciding between the cork or EVA handle versions, but decided to go with the EVA.

I'm a huge fan of these trekking poles! I purchased them for a multi-day trek on the Alta Via Uno in the Dolomites and hiked across all types of terrain, from dirt to rock to creek to snow, and these poles provided great stability. Plus, they are solidly built so no "pinging" sounds as you pole plant, which I really appreciate!

solidly built, lightweight and good support site for questions (e. g. , swapping out handle for axe head). I've been skiing w these for 4-5 years as well as 1 trip trekking w them in Portugal. I really like the design and the build quality.

These are very sturdy, strong poles, and they look great. The grip is fine. And the flicklock adjustment for the poles look strong. These poles should last a long time on the trail.

We use these for hiking and backcountry skiing. They're a little light for skiing but still do the job and it's nice to have just one set of poles.

Reliable, sturdy, comfortable non-slip grip, and a snap to use! Great for trail hiking or backcountry skiing. Collapses down to fit along the side of my pack when not in use. Highly recommend these poles for your standard backcountry adventuring!

These trekking poles performed very well. I have used them on numerous hikes, to include the lower half, or non-technical part of the climb of Mt. Rainier. They stowed well when and survived the abuse of being strapped to the outside of my pack for the rest of the climb. I also used them on the rim-to-rim hike of the Grand Canyon. Make sure you purchase the appropriate baskets for the hike on which you intend to use them. Also, check the friction locks before you head out on your first hike. They may need slight dialing in, or tightening with a standard Phillips screwdriver. Quality Black Diamond gear as always.

This was my first foray into trekking poles. Bought them for a backpacking trip with my son, and they did the job. I probably wasn't using them properly, as I didn't notice much of a difference on flat terrain. I did really appreciate them on the uphills, as I was able to use my arms to help push myself and my overloaded pack up the trail. Likewise, on the downhills and uneven terrain, they helped me balance/stabilize myself stepping off rocks and whatnot. Curious to see how well they work for regular hiking with a light pack. The only down is that I wish the grips had been a bit bigger. They worked well, and were comfortably contoured, but I think another 2-3 mm of grip size might have fit better in my hands. Again, as a first time user, maybe this is just me needing to get used to them. Usage wise, the poles were easy to set up and the flip lock levers made it easy to adjust length as needed. They packed down small-ish so storage is easy. Would be nice if there was a better way to store the baskets though. I'm sure I'm going to lose them if I don't put them on the poles.
