Big Agnes Wyoming Trail 4 Person Tent

We were looking for a tent that would replace our Chimney Creek 4 mtnGLO tent. Our kids are 10 and 7 and we have a new puppy and our 4 person tent was getting a bit tight. We took the Wyoming Trail 4 out on our first camping trip of the summer to the WA coast and it worked really well. The tent sets up pretty easy once you have done it once and figure out where the poles go and which ones go on top and bottome of each other. Very intuitive color coding of clips which makes setting up the raincover very straight forward. We loved the space in the large vestibule as we set up a chair and small table inside it and were able to also have a dog bed for our puppy to sleep in at night. I think we may have even convinced some friends with kids that were with us to think about getting the same tent! I think the only issue would be the size of the footprint of the tent. It is very long and it could be a tight fit in certain campsites.

As my son gets older he wanted his own tent so decided to give the Wyoming 4 a try. Also figured I could use it for motorcycle camping with a friend. Anyway, like all BA products this one is well thought out and excellent quality. It took about 15 minutes to set up for the first time but I was amazing with the design and the space. I was able to fit my beloved BA Captain comfort deluxe double sleeping pad on my side and a single wide mattress on the other side. Plus, my 90x90 BA floor protector fits perfectly in the middle to protect the ground sheet and add more warmth. The rainfly opens on both sides for warmer temps and takes the guess work out of setup. The inner tents also zip open on both sides. I truly have nothing negative to say except the support poles on top or a little tricky to install, and it is a bulky and heavy tent. Clearly nothing you would take on the trail. It's currently on sale and I hope that Big Agnes is not going to discontinue this amazing tent.

This tent is amazing and very sturdy. Used it this past weekend at Palo Duro Canyon with my dad. Very spacious. Easy to setup. Took us about 15 minutes both times. I did a practice run at my house. It is color coded so makes it easy to set up. It held up pretty well with the high winds. We had a red flag warning. I will be using it in the future. It was a great purchase.

Our kids are getting older--10 and 8. We used to all sleep in a 4 person tent no problem but we needed to grow. This tent is perfect because the middle console becomes a changing and dressing area and then we have bedrooms at night. It's not for backpacking--unless it's your only thing since it actually comes in a backpack. But car camping, bikepacking, or, in our case, horse packing, it's no problem and buttons down nice and compact for travel. Setting up is easy. We've been through some pretty great wind and rain storms (Pacific Northwest style) and were still just comfy and cozy as can be.

Great family tent, with plenty of room for camping kitchen, gear, dog, etc. We have had ours for 2016, and it has accommodated our growing family rather well, with 2 adults, 3 kids, one dog, and a whole lot of stuff. It was also tested during a snowstorm in the Routt National Forest without any issues, even if it's clearly not the intended use.

The tent has been perfect for car camping for our family of 4. The middle section has been our sanctuary for playing, changing, and hanging out - especially during rain storms. We absolutely recommend this tent for anyone looking for lots of functionality for all your car camping adventures.
